Overview

If you’d love to discover ancient Egypt but don’t want to waste money on a night away from your resort, this Luxor day trip is the tour for you. Check off four key Luxor highlights: the Valley of the Kings, the temples of Hatshepsut and Karnak, and the Colossi of Memnon. With door-to-door transport, lunch and a guide, there’s no need to worry about a thing.

What to Expect

Expect pickup early in the morning and transfer by air-conditioned coach to Luxor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where your guide will meet you. First, cross the Nile to the West Bank and the famous Valley of the Kings, with 63 royal tombs dating back almost 4,000 years: The elaborate art that decorates their walls gives an insight into how Egypt’s rulers lived.

Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, a tribute to Egypt’s gender-bending female pharaoh, and the giant statues known as the Colossi of Memnon.

Cross back to the East Bank and relax with a traditional local lunch before you explore the vast Temple of Karnak. Finish with a visit to an alabaster factory and a papyrus bazaar before your coach drops you back at your hotel.

Family friendly

Private tour is the way to travel. We had a private car with our guide. Spent the day in Luxor and enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the sites. Ensure you pay to take photos in the tomb’s or leave your in your pocket.

Nice guide, nice driver and nice long day tour

Excellent guide (Rafat) that learned us a lot about history of Egypt, Luxor, valley of the Kings, the hieroglyphics in Karnak and much more. Also a good driver on the tour this time.

Lovely trip and guides

Enjoyed the trip. Great for kids. The nile cruise is an extra cost. It would be better to sell this upfront as my husband had to withdraw extra cash. You cant get to lunch venue without the cruise. I think it was 10 euro each

Hi Viktoria, apologies for my late response. I don't know if the ride or the trip is suited for a 6-month-old. There's a lot of walking and the ride is pretty bumpy at times. If you haven't already made the trip, I'd ask the... More
