Trip tailored just for us. They took all the work out of traveling.
It was so nice to have some ideas about what our family of 4 wanted to do and where we wanted to go and to have Latin Trails work out the details. They took care of hotels, excursions and other planned activities, in country flights and ground transportation, and threw in other experiences we didn’t even know we wanted. We loved not having to be on a full tour with other people for the bulk of the trip, allowing us to do exactly what we wanted. We experienced Galapagos, the Amazon jungle, Cotopaxi, Baños, and Quito. So we experienced a wide range of what the country has to offer. Most of the guides were stellar. I highly recommend them.

      A memorable journey across Galápagos
An excellent introduction to beautiful Galapagos! Transfer from Quito to Galapagos was seamless. The Seaman Journey catamaran is comfortable and very well scheduled excursions including hikes/walks, swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. Food buffet options were varied and highlighted Ecuadorian cuisine. The landscape, clear water, breeze and animals are truly wonderful sights. We were lucky to see the sea lion mothers with newborn pups, marine iguanas, blue footed boobies, red footed boobies, nazca boobies, frigate, Galapagos hawk, waved Albatross courtship dance, lava lizards, turtles, dolphins, marine animals, and the famous giant tortoises. Special thanks to all crews and guide Camilo for taking care of our group.

      Excellent service
Great communication with William who booked us on the Bonita Yacht for 5 days 4 nights. I reviewed elsewhere the excellent yacht trip, but just wanted to thank William for answering my endless emails so quickly and doing such a good job with all the arrangements

      Trip of a lifetime
Latin Trails booked our trip to the Galapagos to stay on the Seaman Journey in Jan 2023. They took care of everything. Valeska from Latin Trails met us at the Quito airport with a sign with our names on it. She checked us in for our flights, helped us check our bags, everything was done in 10 minutes. She gave us printed itinerary and cash for the Galapagos national parks pass (you have to pay in cash once you arrive). The cruise with the Seaman Journey was a dream. They were waiting for us at San Cristobal airport when we arrived and whisked us to the boat. The entire trip was wonderful, the crew was very safe and had amazing customer service. Marco was our naturalist guide for the cruise and he was so knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure we had a great time. We were able to hike, snorkel and kayak and I got to see all the animals on my bucket list. The crew on the Seaman Journey had snacks and drinks and cucumber towels for all of us every time we came back to the boat after an excursion. The food was great, lots of variety and very tasty. I’m vegetarian and I was very pleased at how many vegetarian options there were. Latin Trails told Seanan Journey I was celebrating my birthday on this trip and they decorated my cabin, made me a cake and sang to me. I was very touched and impressed at their thoughtfulness. I highly recommend Latin Trails and the Seaman Journey.

Great way to see the Galapagos!
We took a cruise in the Galapagos with Sea Star Cruises aboard the Domenica to celebrate landmark birthdays and other events. We had a party of 12 people. The crew was fantastic, the accommodations were spacious and nice, and the overall trip was truly a trip of our lifetimes. The friendly crew made sure everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed. The Galapagos is tough to get to, but definitely worth the trip, and with the Sea Star crew is they way to do it! Our naturalist, Hansel, was extremely knowledgeable and had great stories along the entirety of the trip, I highly recommend him as well.

      Perfect family holiday
Our family travelled around Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for just over two weeks last March. Our in-country travel guide was Latin Trails. We had an experienced and knowledgeable guide while on the mainland (RG). He was engaging and kind, especially with our son, and he made our trip a lot of fun. While there, we went on a waterfall hike, toured around the cloud forest, spending several days photographing hummingbirds and enjoying the beauty and history of the area. We also spent time in the highlands (at Zuleta), then a couple of days in Quito before heading to the Galapagos. We spent a few days on San Cristobel island, then 4 nights/5 days on a catamaran cruise (Seaman Journey) of the islands. All of this was arranged by Latin Trails. Everything was perfect. Latin Trails is a reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy operator.

Amazing tour of Quito and the area
Plain and simple, Latin Trails did an amazing job showing us around both the Quito area and the Galapagos islands. I was seriously impressed with the knowledge and friendliness of our guides. Our guide in Quito, Jorge was stunning. He expertly covers geology, geography, botany, history, culture, music, and in a friendly, conversational manner. It was truly impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend Latin Trails to anyone and Jorge was impressive. I would say the same thing about our guide on Santa Cruz. She covered the same sorts of subjects with equal expertise and ease. Latin Trails should be pleased with its staff. I was.

      Galapagos vacation: just amazing
We were recommended to Latin Trails by one of our neighbors who had traveled to Galapgos 3 years ago. We are extremely happy with their services. They organized an all around Galpagos and Ecuador vacation for us. We cruised on their boat the Seaman Journey and enjoyed the wildlife experience of a lifetime. The boat; the crew and the guide were excelent. Island transfers were on time, good units with A/C, english speaking drivers and ,ost important everything was thoughtfully planned. We really enjoyed touring Quito with their head guide Jorge, he was so knowledgeable and passionate about the countries history. He had a story at every corner and helped us interact with locals. One of our best trips every. We will return with our Grandchildren.

      Galápagos cruise with the family
I had the opportunity to join a departure as a guest with my family. I have guided on board the Sea Star before, but this time I was given the chance to relax and enjoy the trip with my wife, her parents and our 2 younger kids. We were lucky to get a very good discount due to our good relationship and for the fact they are close to going out into dry dock. It was so nice to be pampered, having a warm snack after each excursion, fresh juices and wet towels each time we boarded. Rooms are very spacious, well appointed with proper matresses and really nice amenities. We had connecting cabins which is ideal when you have teenagers, you can have privacy and still look after them. Chef Richer Ulloa is perhaps one of the best representatives of Ecuador’s coastal cuisine - his coconut shrimp dishes are second to none. Best food on any yacht in the islands. Thanks to Latín Trails team and the Sea Star yacht.

Amazing Trip in Quito thank you Latin Trails
My husband and I took a trip to the Galapagos Islands and Latin Trails coordinated our fabulous stay at the ILLA Experience in Quito prior to our trip. We had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this company. First-class and customer service detailed. The luxury boutique hotel the ILLA Experience they booked for us in San Marcos is a true gem located in the UNESCO heritage site of Quito which was outstanding! We toured the area with a hotel guide Xavier who was knowledgeable and personable. Would highly recommend!

      Luxury & Wildlife Experience
Travelled Galapagos Islands with Sea Star Cruises (Latin Trails). One of the highlight experiences of all of my travels the past 5 years (90+ countries). With this cruise, you access parts of Galapagos you simply can't get to if you are not taking a cruise (they travel through the night). There were so many activities available each day & Hans our guide was one of the most charismatic & knowledgeable local guides I have encountered. The food waiting for you back on the boat is 5 star & waking up to the sunrise from your balcony, while watching sea lions & dolphins splashing metres away, was an experience in itself. There are only 8 rooms on this boat, meaning the experience is very personal & you will make great new friends :)

Middle of the World Tour with Estalia
Estalia our guide was awesum. He easily accommodated our wishes, amending the schedule to suit our needs. We were feeling a bit tired, but were glad to have engaged in the learning that we received today. We leave feeling that we have a deeper insight into the multi cultural place that is Ecuador. All details were easily arranged. All timing met. Car good. Private guide definitely helps with bringing a comfortability to understanding the information download. Found the churches amazing. Couldn't resist the chocolate.

Beautiful islands -- Poor response to homophobia
Our guides in & out of Quito were prompt, nice, and engaging. The "service" experience during the Galapagos portion was remarkably disappointing: · The best way to really see & enjoy these beautiful islands is to stay on a boat instead of a hotel on land so we asked Latin Trails to book a large Yacht/Catamaran. · When we had problems, Latin Trails was unresponsive to reports of our negative experience. · The guide on the Catamaran was knowledgeable; however, it took nearly two hours just to get our group on the boat. The guide reported that the crew knew we were coming, but they were lounging around the ship and talking instead of making an effort to retrieve the passengers. · We never saw/met the captain. · The safety review was minimal. The guide only suggested that if there was a problem, the port-side life boat would be better since the starboard one did not work well. · When assigning the rooms, the guide reacted in a confused/alarmed manner that we (two men) were sharing a room on the upper deck. Three times in front of the rest of the other 14 guests, he repeatedly questioned if there was a mistake that two men were sharing the "matrimony" suite. He even asked us if we are ~married~ and giggled at the absurdity of his question. (We are.) · The other guests said that the guide privately shared his disapproval of our situation, until he was asked to stop. · The crew avoided us throughout the trip. · On the last day, the all-male crew was in the common area, laughing and talking about how they could drink a lot of alcohol and about the physical attractiveness of the one female crew member (who was present but ignoring them). · In this setting, the guide referred to us as “los maricones” (a derogatory term) because he did not realize that (a) we speak Spanish and (b) could hear him. · Unfortunately, the boat was poorly maintained with rust marks on the window shades, cabinets that would swing open and slam shut day and night, brown water from the sink and shower for the first two days, only one bottle of drinking water per passenger on the first night and a single drinkable water tap downstairs for every passenger to get themselves. · After six days of unprofessionalism and poor conditions, all of the staff lined up wearing “uniforms” for the first time to thank everyone and remind us that tips are customary while placing a large tip box with envelopes conspicuously on the coffee table in the common area and more tip envelopes on everyones' beds. · We told Latin Trails about the poor conditions and homophobia we experienced, but they were unresponsive... as was the Catamaran/Yacht company. The Galapagos Islands are a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and we were determined to have a memorable time... in spite of the service.

      Excellent service.
We were met at Quito airport at 4 am by Martha of Latin Trails( after a 16 hr delay in our flight from Lima). Her English is excellent( Also speaks German and French). She escorted us to our hotel and arranged super quick checkin. Our city tour had been scheduled for 9 am that day but she happily moved it to 11am. The transport vehicle was new, clean and the driver excellent. We had a lovely 1/2 day tour of the old city and the centre of the world. We had to cut short the afternoon tour and asked the hotel to call a Dr for our daughter. Martha was fantastic and translated for us, staying until we had sorted all treatment needed. We could not have asked for more and would highly recommend Latin Trails as a top quality tour company in Quito.

This was a time to remember. Such a beautiful tour I realised how beautiful the country it is. I am waiting to make my next trip soon. Hopefully with many more people. The guides are a great help as they all speak English which makes it easy to communicate and understand better. The itineraries are well planned so I'll suggest just following them and making the most out of it.
