The Sierra Negra volcano is considered the oldest of the volcanoes on Isabela. According to some geologists, including Nordlie, while wider and shallower is one, oldest boiler is. It reaches this conclusion through a theory and observations indicate that the volcanic processes in a boiler tend to tear down its edge, filling her. This activity is characterized by tremors and eruptions that are occurring in the course of thousands and millions of years.

tour company is bad- nature, is beautiful
I paid twice what you would pay if you booked locally. first this company didn't pick us up on time. on the boat- mid trip they asked for more money! having booked day trips locally at other islands, it was clear booking w trip advisor is double the cost. we were ready to snorkel- in cold/ cool waters and we saw everyone else had wet suits- we did not. everyone else stopped off first to get fitted for flippers and wet suits- we didn't. again, we paid double what everyone else paid. well in advance of arriving on the island. even though the company made the mistake of forgetting our wet suits- they asked us FOR MORE MONEY TO RENT wet suits! another women also did not have a wet suit. I refused and said we paid, for the full service- everyone else got. the helper on the boat mumbled he didn't understand English all of a sudden and said we needed to pay more. the guide maybe felt guilty and lent me his suit. my husband refused to pay extra money rent what should have been included- and they didn't give him a wet suit!! the other woman was also out of luck too! horrible! it was not a full day trip. they took bunch of pictures- got everyones cell phone via WhatsApp and never did they send pics. def not worth booking in advance and you can find many other companies that provide similar tours- hopefully they will remember to get you all the gear you paid for and not request more money.

        DO NOT USE this company
This company cancelled two different tours on us within days with notice late the night before and because it was high season we were unable to book with another company. They said it was a logistic issue and unfortunately we traveled to that island exclusively for this tour so we wasted money and time. The second time we didn't even know it was cancelled because of very limited wifi we didn't receive the email until late the day of the tour. They made no effort to make good or rebook us with another operator. Also good to know that other tour operators, who had representatives, at the pier told us that they no longer work with BM tours because they do not pay them. This company is fraudulent and Tripadvisor should remove them from their site.

DO THIS BY YOURSELF - Take a taxi, get dropped off, for $3
This is a active turtle sanctuary with plenty turtles in different stages of growing. There is also a walk that takes you through interesting path and some ponds with some flamingos, I saw 1 at one pond, 2 at another, 1 at another pond. This is not going to satisfy those expecting to see tons of flamingos, which is a stunning site I didn't get to see. You can see free GIGANTIC TURTLES at the ranch in Santa Cruz, just take a city bus, or taxi, get dropped off, walk the long, lovely entrance with egrets, gigantic tortoises and cows all grazing along this beautiful path. The ranch is also very lovely with a huge deck, free coffee (donation), can buy water, etc. and nice toilets. The entry fee is so minimal I can't recall, maybe $5. You can spend all the time you want with 40-50 giant tortoise, some over 100 years old. Also on property is tunnels, but they are not a real attraction, but interesting for 5 minutes. TRY TO AVOID PAYING FOR TOURS BECAUSE SO AMERICA IS NOTORIOUS FOR CUTTING DAY TOURS SHORT AND IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING. I enjoyed on Isabelle the Tortuise Sanctuary and the walk. The problem was I had a taxi waiting to take me on a "day tour" for $10, which consisted of that drop off and pick up, and dropping me at the port, completely not needed. Could have paid separate taxi to get to both places for not over $3. There is free snorkling near the port! Rent gear, take your time! MUST SEE is the other area near the port with all the sealions, one named Donald Trump because he spent hours honkning at all the nice sleeping sealions just to make their lives miserable. I will post that documentary on my public pages, look for Toruga Trump MENTAL CASE IN SHELL!

This excursion involves a 10 mile hike up past the crater of a volcano to fields of lava rock. The landscape of lava is beautiful and very worth seeing. However, it was raining when we went, and the hike was unpleasant. Very muddy, slippery at times. And the crater views were not visible because of fog.

Hi Jennifer! We are sorry to hear the weather did not cooperate this day, sadly that's out of our control. We hope you had a good time in Galápagos either way :)

The tour itself was nice, but the guide was 3 hours late - we tried calling the company, but were told to wait "a little longer". After a two hour wait they gave us two options: Go on the tour tomorrow, or wait another 30 min. for a new tour. We had tickets for the boat to Santa Cruz same day, so we chose waiting. After an hour our guide arrived.
In all fairness, the guide we had tried his best to make up for lost time, but it felt a bit rushed.
