- davesQ2561RG0 contributionsAbidjan walking tourJosiane was a very good tour guide. We were a bit skeptical based on the meeting place. But once Josiane showed up all was good. She was on time and gave us a good introduction on the tour. We saw some very interesting sites and learned a lot about the Abidjan and Cote d' Ivoire. At the end of the tour at the marketplace she was a good source of bargaining and stayed with us until our Yango came - Double thumbs upWritten January 2, 2024
- glohrman10 contributionsGreat Tour With JosianeWe had the best Tour of Abidjan with Josiane. She is a most friendly and accommodating Guide, who made our Tour of the City very relaxing and informative. She picked us up and dropped us off right at our Cruise Ship. Her passion and knowledge of the History and Culture of Abidjan and the Ivory Coast really made this Tour a great value. We highly recommend this Tour to anyone traveling to Abidjan.Written April 26, 2023

- derekrD7175VK0 contributionsNew Sights and very flexibleThe tour guide was knowledgeable and very flexible. There was a mix up in start time due to this site but she waited 3 hours to give me a tour of Abidjan. I had already spent a week in Abijan but had not seen the things she showed me. I would recommend it.Written March 1, 2023
- ronyy1520 contributionsMoney back pleaseSee my main review. Short version: Canceled for the day we wanted, then on the day we rearranged for she Showed up almost an hour late. She also doubled the price on us.Written September 3, 2022
- ronyy1520 contributionsHOW DO I GET MY MONEY BACKWe booked this tour for August 20 for 3 people. I received a message from Josiane, saying that she couldn't do the tour that day, and she would be back in September, and also, the price would be double what we had already paid. We agreed, and a few days ago she asked if we could do the tour today. We said we would, and arranged to meet at 9 am. Also, she said that we had only paid for 2 people, and we agreed to pay the balance in cash, although later we checked and found we had paid for 3 people. At 8:43 she wrote that she was coming. At 8:59 I wrote that we were at the meeting point. At 9:04 she wrote that she was coming, and then at 9:11, that she would be there in 20 minutes. At 9:38, she wrote that she would be there in 10. We left at 9:35. She called at 9:46, to say she was coming. When I told her we had given up on her she asked if we would do it tomorrow or next week!!! I have better things to do than stand in a parking lot waiting for a tour guide who can't be bothered to show up on time. Also TRIP ADVISER - How do I get the $47.31 that I paid back? And you should know that this person is cheating you, if you're getting your well deserved commission out of a 15 dollar fare and then she raises the price like this. no photo, as there was no tour!Written September 3, 2022
- U6747VAveronicav0 contributionsHorrible and unprofessional - don’t bookA terrible woman. Upon arrival she wanted to raise the price (despite booking online) and cancelled the tour multiple times before. When I wanted to speak to the chef, she told me it was not possible. I never got my money back either Do not book with her !! They are UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE Une femme horrible.
- stefaniegrz0 contributionsWonderful and informative tour!Wonderful walking tour in English in the business district of Abidjan! Josiane is an excellent tour guide. She was very accommodating and helpful even before the walking tour when we are scheduling and booking the tour. She came on time and we were able to visit many places during the walking tour. The tour was very informative. It is definitely an excellent way to get to know more of Abidjan! Highly recommended!Written September 18, 2021
- AstonMC0 contributionsPleasant morning tourWe had a lovely tour with Josiane: You really get so much more from a city tour when you visit with a local! We saw all the main sites and some interesting places that we may have missed if we were on our own.Written March 22, 2021
- kris10anna0 contributionsInformative & Friendly Guide- Great Activity! The tour was well organized - both the information and the route. We learned a lot and had fun chatting with the local guide. It was also great to walk and stretch your legs while admiring the architecture and monuments of this unique city that isn’t that easy to navigate as a tourist on your own. Thanks for a great morning!Written March 20, 2020
- johndoemar0 contributionsUnderwelming and uninformativeNot sure what the other reviews were about but the tour provided no real information about Abidjan or Cote d'Ivoire and we learned nothing about the places we came across other than they looked like a building in wakanda and a hotel in Miami. Josiane was punctual and accommodating but the tour was the least informative I have ever been on and I've traveled quite a bit. We were stopped extensively in shops she clearly had an agreement with and suggested to put us in touch with her friends when we asked about shops or things to see in Abidjan. For instance when asked about a regular boat tour on the lagune, she suggested we take a boat on our own with a friend of hers. We felt this was a good waste of our saturday morning and the USD 17 per person. If this was a free walking tour with pay as you feel kind of arrangement like in other countries where you pay based on how much you enjoyed the tour, we would have left after half an hour tops when the guide suggested that Abidjan was named during the times of General de Gaule and clearly mixed up her historic anecdotes. Anyway, Josiane was nice but needs to do way more work on her preps and actually offer value for money on her tour. I am sure Abidjan/Plateau area is much more interesting than that.Written March 10, 2020
- Carolle19790 contributionsExcellent morning activityA great investment of the morning. Josiane started the tour punctually and was attentive to our needs. I made new friends, learnt titbits about the Ivorian culture and architecture. I enjoyed myself and learnt a lot. Thank you JosianeWritten February 16, 2020
- christoph2420 contributionsInteresting and friendly guides! This walking tour of Abidjan's central business district, Plateau, is definitely worth the money. Exploring the city on foot gives you a very interesting perspective. The guides are also very competent and can give explanations to mixed groups in French and English.Written January 11, 2020
- Robert W0 contributionsWorthwhile experienceTours Saturday morning mean little traffic and offer a most enjoyable experience. Walk provides an excellent overview of Plateau, downtown Abidjan. Kristen and her two Ivorian guides give a good background on the city and some of the major downtown buildings. A huge revival on the cathedral grounds made the experience particularly memorable as did seeing the large number of bats that roost daily in large trees. Pace is moderate but you do have to contend with Abidjan's heat and humidity.Written December 3, 2019

Whether we understand or how our Lady of Peace came to a land in the middle of French West Africa in a poor country, and situated in three hours away from the main city, it does in fact exist there and Catholics worldwide must make a stop to see it when they find themselves in this part of the world. A near exact replica of Saint Peters in Vatican Square, you marvel at the enormity of the structure compared to its surroundings and wonder how few people can possibly make it there to visit every year. But I’m pretty psyched that I made it on a day trip from Abidjan!

Josiane was very organized and a good communicator. We learned a lot about Cote d'Ivoire and saw the treasures of the political capital Yamoussoukro. LukeYakro is the English speaking guide at the basilica and he is soooo knowledgeable. There were so many cool. Views and secrets.
