At 200 meters above sea level inside the Tayrona Park is located Pueblito, a community of native Koguis, heirs of the Tayrona with an architecture similar to that of Ciudad Perdida. It is interesting to know a little more about the native culture of Santa Marta. The tour: Pueblito Tayku is ideal to live an adventure of cultural discovery of the region. To reach this ancestral territory, you must take a walk in the middle of the jungle of the Tayrona Park, a route where the visitor will be able to appreciate the natural wonders and thus be closer to the beloved mother earth.

I loved it and I usually hate tours
I absolutely recommend this tour to get an idea of what Minca has to offer! The trek to the waterfall wasn’t so bad since we stopped a couple times to learn about the natural area. Our tour guide, Tony, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot about the natural world (he was a little negative about the state of the world and I wish he focused more on solutions and inspiring guests to take care of our home tho) . The waterfall wasn’t the most popular one, which I preferred since we were almost the only people there. The water was just perfect for cooling off. The coffee tour was on a very small farm and it was nice to support a small family. The trek to the coffee farm was my favorite part (but DO NOT forget bug spray. The sand flies will devour you! Bring an essential oil like lavender or thyme to repel them instead of Deet). The walk from the coffee tour to Jungle Joes hostel was the longest and most tiresome, I had to stop for more water in town. But we were greeted with the most amazing views, a huge delicious lunch, and a local guitarist. Then Tony taught us more about the animals of South America (this part was could have been shortened because by then we were all very tired) then we learned about cocao and how to make our own. I spent another $20 USD on coffee, chocolate, and Tony’s tip. Overall an amazing experience. I think you can book more directly by contacting Jungle Joes if you prefer.

Very good guide, BUT the tour price is exorbitant for what you get.
The guide is really good, enthusiastic about his topics and will surely teach you something new. Also, he is really confidently bilingual, something you don’t get easily here… However, the tour price is totally exaggerated, about half of it would be fair. So you can say it is not worth the money. Finally, the transportation at the end of the tour back to Santa Marta was very much disappointing. Very much waiting, then the driver dropped us somewhere in town telling the lie that he ran out of fuel, he took off and his friend drove us to the drop off. We arrived in darkness. Unacceptable!

          Fantastic
Tour was fantastic. Very informed and passionate guide who is a biologist and ornatologist. Stops to learn about cacao and coffee (and taste!). Great included lunch.

          Minca memories
This tour was very good for the price. Pick up at our hotel was appreciated. Our guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The walk may be challenging for some but this was well explained and our guide always ensured our safety. It provided a broad perspective of the region, its culture, and environment. Lunch was provided and delicious.

          Very good
Highly recommend. Great walk, coffee/cocoa testing, picturesque trail, fine lunch and guide. You need to be ready to walk for 2-3 hours total.

Worst Tour Experience: Abandoned and Uncompensated in Tayrona Park
I don't usually leave negative comments, but what happened here was unbelievable, so I feel it's important to share my experience. I booked a tour through the hostel I stayed at in Santa Marta (Viajero), along with another girl from the same hostel. We spent the day at Cabo San Juan beach, and after lunch, our tour guide (Eduardo) asked if we wanted to hike back to the entrance or ride horses. We chose for the horses, and Eduardo suggested we head to playa Piscina for the rest of the time, agreeing to meet us there at 2:30 PM to show us where the horses were. Around 2:25 PM, we arrived at the agreed location and waited in the sun until 3:00 PM. At that point, we decided to return to Cabo San Juan to check if everything was okay. When we arrived there, we asked at the restaurant, we were informed that the tour had left "ages ago." Cabo San Juan was the only place with signal, so I texted Eduardo, informing him that we would return with the horses and asking him to wait for us, but they didn't wait. It turns out our tour had passed by our meeting point way earlier before 2:30 PM, but they didn't feel like waiting for us and left without us. When we reached the entrance, I called the tour guide, who casually mentioned that they had left. I was of course irritated and I responded back to him and then he just hung up and never answered the phone again. We had to pay for a bus and a taxi back to Santa Marta, as it was getting late, and we were never compensated for anything. Additionally, the tour guide kept the change from my meal, which he was supposed to give back to me after lunch. We have never lived something like this, so irresponsible to leave two people behind because he decided to form the plan while eating and didn't remember when he suggested to us.

          Pretty good
This is a pretty good tour, a little expensive but it’s definitely a great experience. The transportation is kinda uncoordinated but they get it done. The chocolate experience is incredible.

          False representation !
The trip was selling a package it did not provide ! They advertised it has a snorkel tour which it wasn’t ! You had to rent the gear separately at an hourly rate ! I have been on many snorkel tours in Belize , Mexico and Cuba and the gear is not an extra but part of the package !

          Highly recommended!
This day trip was a highlight of our trip to Columbia! The guides had a passion and depth of knowledge which gave us an appreciation for Minca. The lunch in a treetop restaurant and a sampling of the local coffee and chocolate made it extra special.

          Very unique experience!
This tour definitely requires some physical exertion, as you are walking quite a bit, often uphill, in the heat and humidity. If you are in moderately good shape I think you'll be fine, but if you have an injury or other physical limitation it may be very difficult. The tour is great, though, and well worth it. The first stop is a coffee farm in the jungle, and it's a very cool experience to be sipping coffee in the middle of the forest where it came from. Plus you get to see an adorable toucan. The trip to the waterfall is great and very refreshing, albeit crowded, and Jungle Joe's for lunch gives you a fantastic view over the mountains. The overall feel of the tour is informal and authentic, and doesn't feel too touristy or canned. Our guide had the personal experience of collecting coffee beans himself, and it was so interesting to hear about and appreciate where their coffee comes from. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, water and wear water shoes and something you can swim in. There's no place to change at the waterfall, so just be creative with how you dress to accomodate that.

Informative, beautiful scenery and great fun
I would recommend this trip the guide was very helpful and was open to question any of us would have as well as the group my family was with was really nice helping each other etc the trip was explained before we set off how much we would be walking ad the guide gave us time to go to the toilet and buy water beforehand. I don't personally think the hike is too bad but when going down to the rivers is when it gets a bit difficult especially if you had many bags with you or some mobility issues but the group was very helpful to those who needed extra help. I would have liked to have visited more rivers or spent more time there but it was a lovely dip after hiking and building up a sweat. Then the cocoa and coffee tasting was amazing, very informative and well presented, getting a chance to get involved and taste these in organic form. overall great trip just remember to bring water sunscreen and bug repellent. The food was delicious as well :)

Amazing experience in the Tayrona Park
It was my parents first time meeting the ocean and they were amazed by everything they saw. My dad was playing like a kid in the ocean and the guides made the experience even better, because they were there for us through the whole trip! I truly recommend this agency!

          Beautiful beach and good snorkeling
Playa Cristal is very beautiful and good for snorkeling. The only issue is that they don’t rent snorkels since the pandemic, you only get a mask so the experience is a bit less enjoyable. The guides were nice and the lunch was great as well.

Thanks to Travesia Pro Agency we had a great time in Santa Marta
We had a great time on both tours we did with Travesia Pro Agency. We booked both tours very last minute but they were able to accommodate us and providing details of the service and what to expect. We did the Minca cocoa and coffee tour, the guide agent was amazing. Everything was very well explained, food was great! I highly recommend this tour. We also did the sailboat tour to Tyrona park, they were great communicating and providing details of the tour. The beach is beautiful, the crew very friendly. They have a very detailed document of what to expect from the tour with meeting point details, phone number for contact. Really good costumer service.

Tayku-Cape San Juan Tour: a physically demanding but rewarding experience, you walk approximately 7 hours, passing through different areas such as Tayku, the tropical dry forest, Cabo San Juan beach and finally the return tour. Knowing the customs in Tayku was wonderful, in the forest the shadow of the trees helps with the sun and the tour is comfortable since the Guide is making stops to observe the landscape, hear the sounds of nature and explain part of the history, and finally enjoy the sea. Excellent plan, excellent Guide, excellent agency, would be and pending in every moment how our plan developed. Fully recommended.

Fascinating that the review I tried to post way back in January was blocked in some way as no ability to complete the review was available. I wonder if a company on TripAdvisor can block users or disable reviews? I wrote about my entire experience and even complained to the hotel that recommended this tour group. Essentially I booked this via whatsapps and they made it seem like I had to urgently book. Keep in mind not once during this entire interaction on WhatsApp did I speak in Spanish. I arrive the next morning and they made zero attempts to communicate with us. Not even very important details like where to wait for the bus, nothing. Or other important information like which boat to board. My adult Daughter who does speak Spanish made several attempts to communicate with the tour guides and was completely ignored. We had to constantly hunt them down so they wouldn’t outright leave us. Once we did get on the boat to spend the day on the beach they treated up the same way. Almost like they were purposely trying to get to ditch us? It was scary to have a tour group do this to us. We had no way to get back if they were successfully able to do this. Even a Spanish/english speaking American couple noticed their abhorrent behavior towards and intervened on our behalf. The icing on the cake is when they decided unceremoniously to drop us off many blocks from the hotel they picked us up from despite us knowing and they knowing it was a dangerous neighborhood that even the hotel told us not to go into and this tour made to attempts to even ensure we would be able to find our way back to the hotel.
