Itinerary
- 1Concordia's main square This tour starts with a kind of early pick-up in Medellín at 6:30 am. We will drive south on the so-called Panamerican highway and then head southwest towards the closest coffee region to Medellín. During this jaw-dropping drive you will see forests, sugar-cane fields, coffee plantations, waterfalls, fancy week-end homes, the Cauca River, all of these as we go from the Central Andes to the Western Andes. At the coffee farm near Concordia you will learn everything it takes to produce export quality coffee, from the seed, to the harvest, to the processing, marketing and roasting and even learn some insight about fair-trade coffee. While in town, we will visit the coffee cooperative to better understand the coffee market and see what an authentic coffee town looks like. After the coffee tour, we will have lunch either at a farm or at a road-side restaurant before heading back to Medellin. Please note that we're the only tour operator allowed to visit this farm so it will surely be a unique experience that we hope makes it among your best days in Colombia.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jane H0 contributionsAwesome Guide and City TourMy husband and I went on this tour with our friend. We were contacted the night before with the pickup time and name of guide. Natalia was very knowledgeable and explained everything about the city as we drove past. We rode the cable cars, walked up and down Comuna 13, stopped at a local farmers market, and a memorial park for the victims of Pablo Escobar. It was great having Natalia to help translate and add information to what we were looking at. We expected the tour to last 3-4 hours but Natalia had us scheduled for 6 hours. Just something to clarify if you’re on a timetable. Overall we had a great time!Written August 8, 2024
- siahp20240 contributionsSee the beauty of Colombia! This was one of the best experiences during my time in Colombia. It is a beautiful representation of the country and of every aspect coffee related. Andrés’ kindness, knowledge, and friendship through the day were a notable highlight that I will keep with me. I am a barista and still was able to expand my coffee knowledge/appreciation greatly.Written June 25, 2024
- beverlyb2720 contributionsWe booked this tour with confirmation of included activities at certain price and then Operator changed price. We do not recommend this excursion primarily because of lack of professionalism before the tour and refusal to take accountability for what was included in the price paid. This our first time visiting Colombia and Medellin. We like most travelers book our excursions ahead of time to aid in plotting our your itinerary. We booked 2 tickets for this excursion. We paid $35 each for a total of $70. I took a snapshot of what was included for this day trip from Viator. It also had my confirmation number and booking number. Our tour was scheduled for today, but while we were on another excursion on Monday, the operator of the tour sends me a WhatsApp message telling me that we paid the wrong price , and that they normally get $300-$350 for this excursion and that to come to it we need to pay the difference. I said to him that we have already paid and sent him the confirmation (I’ll attach photos) . He said, that only covered the cost of the horse ride. I said but how can that happen since that’s not what was advertised on Viator. Had we known that excursion would be that amount, we would have never booked it from the start and would have explored other activities. Then he tries to negotiate a price of $200. I’m sorry that is a turn off and completely inappropriate. I contacted Viator and all they did was refund, and the operator sent me a message to say he cancelled and refunded. By doing that, it doesn’t allow for you to leave a review on Viator’s site directly because it makes it appear as though the customer cancelled the activity which is not true. I am a business owner myself, and if that happened to one of my customers, I would have apologized and taken “one for the team” so to speak . It would have certainly incentivized us to recommend this excursion to all of our friends and family, but we will not. This review is not meant to hurt the Operator’s business but we felt highly disrespected. We don’t recommend. Viator, respectfully, I feel your platform is somewhat responsible because you should hold your vendors on your platform more accountable as the Operator completely ruined the experience we were hoping to have here. We use Viator in the past and felt it credible and reliable but after the way this was nonchalantly unaddressed properly, we will reconsider other platforms for connecting us with local vendors when we travel.Written May 22, 2024
- Climber270469303420 contributionsAmazing Day in Coffee CountryAndrés was was absolutely amazing! His knowledge of both Medellin, Jardín and the entire process of turning coffee beans into coffee is unsurpassed. This trip was a wonderful cultural experience for everyone in our group.Written May 18, 2024
- G743PJstephanien0 contributionsAmazing coffee tour!I really enjoyed the Jardin tour! Our tour guide Juan was very knowledgeable. We went to the town of Jardin and a local coffee plantation. If you want to immerse yourself in the Colombian coffee culture, I would highly recommend this tour. 5 stars!!!!Written February 6, 2024
- david4lifewtf0 contributionsA wonderful day of sights, food and friendshipJuan was a terrific guide. He is very familiar with the towns, restaurants and the coffee plantation that we visited and greets many friends along the way. This friendly demeanor and sharing of friendships offers a slice of local life that is otherwise not available to a tourist. His English is great. He shares his knowledge of the towns and history. Restaurants for breakfast and lunch were very good! Felt good in the tummy. While the drive is longthe scenery is spectacular. I would highly recommend this leader and tour!Written January 12, 2024
- M2740KWhugos0 contributionsThe highlight of our honeymoon. We have been traveling around Colombia for the past two weeks for our honeymoon. One thing we were eager to do was a horseback ride in the countryside. Wow, this certainly did not disappoint. We were mind-blown by the incredible views we saw. The horses were easy to ride, and we were able to even get some cantering in over the course of the 2-hour ride, capping it off with a delicious lunch. I can't forget to mention Andres, who was an amazing host. He truly made the whole occasion all the more special and unique for us, as well as being incredibly informative. Thank you, Andres, for what has to be one of our favorite days of our honeymoon. I can’t recommend this trip more highly.Written January 8, 2024
- Z3244EHelenak0 contributionsBest tour guide to do the most relevant tour in MedellinThis was our second tour in Medellin with Andres and equally rewording as the first one in the Concordia region. The tour was performed by a local that lives in communes 13 and raises a young child as a single mother, walking up stairs every day. She showed her neighborhood with pride, we listened to the stories behind the beautiful graffiti, visited selected galleries, took elevators and walked stairs. Andres offered additional point of views, showed us former gangs members making an honest living selling goods for tourists. Again having a guide like Andres who knows the history, respects the local culture and loves his city was invaluable. So glad we do this with him. On the way to communas 13 we made an important stop at the Parque Conmemorativo Inflexión which was built by the government in memory of all victims of Escobar. Getting the right aspects of this sad phase of columbias history was very valuable. Thank you for a memorable experience.Written December 27, 2023
- Deckermandhani0 contributionsExcellent guide for a super fun day tripOne of our best days in Colombia going to El Retiro, El Penol, Guatape and a family-run coffee farm. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. We don't usually do packaged tours with a guide, but I am so glad we did this one and would highly recommend it. Well worth the money. Fernando was an excellent guide with a great playlist for our drive. He was so knowledgeable about the history and culture of the places we visited. You can tell that he truly loves sharing information about his country with visitors. We had a lot of questions and he was happy to talk about everything and never rushed us. It was really a lot of fun. We especially enjoyed the Finca La Rivera coffee farm. The owners were super gracious and showed us every aspect of the process ending with delicious coffee. And the town of Guatape is so colorful and fun to see.Written July 9, 2023
- 586leilah0 contributionsBeautiful country side tour - close to Medellin! This experience was gifted to my husband and I for our wedding, and it was by far one of the best gifts we have received! Andres is a fabulous tour guide in that he is very knowledgeable about the city, the overall region, local history and all-around just an easy person to be with. The Santa Elena region is right above Medellin and absolutely beautiful! It’s a nice countryside area just outside the city and offers wonderful views have surrounding hills and valleys, and as well as the city. This was an overall great experience, and really added to our honeymoon memories.Written February 17, 2023
- Patsy M0 contributionsAndres of LandVentures Travel in ColombiaAndres of land venture travels was an excellent guide for both horseback riding and in the city of Medellin. I highly recommend booking, horseback, riding and city tours with Andres. He provides excellent opportunities and commentaries. I’m definitely going back. He was also very considerate about planning parallel activities for my husband and me. My husband has some mobility problems, but Andres was able to accommodate his needs as well as engaging with me.Written January 16, 2023
- Patsy M0 contributionsMedellin visitThe city was very green and beautiful, surrounded by mountains. I did a city tour and some horse back riding with Andres of Land Adventures and he was a great great guide. He provided excellent opportunities and commentary. I would highly recommend a tour with him. I never felt unsafe in Medellin. Just for comparison, the homicide rate is 16 per 100,000 as compared to Baltimore Maryland USA which is 50+ per hundred thousand.Written January 16, 2023
- 655mdd0 contributionsCoffee, coffee in beautiful JardínAndrés' tour of Jardín and Jaime's coffee plantation was truly an amazing experience from the beginning to the end. He was not only a very informative guide, but he also felt like a part of the community everywhere he took us. From the arepa to choclo, to details about numerous local bird species and plants, he really took care to elaborate the region and give us more than just a simple tour. We also found the experience at Jaime's plantation second to none. From the explanation of the cosecha to drying, we got a very tasty Belgian siphon coffee at the end. Long story short, great experience, would repeat in a heartbeat or take another tour with Andrés if we had more time.Written January 11, 2023
- Westerado0 contributionsThis is why we travelThese kind of experiences make you realize how amazing is travelling, meeting people from other countries and learning about their culture. We had an amazing experience with Andrés. A private tour for 2 took us to a local coffee farm, to a little town of Concordia and to horseback riding onto the hills of Andes. From start to finish it was all very personal experience, more like going on a tour with an old friend. Andrés is a very knowledgable man with lots of interesting stories to share. The highlight for us was the horseback riding which I highly recommend to book. It was amazing to ride through the hills and plains of nearby mountains. It's impossible to express the beauty of the scenery we encountered during that, but I'm certain that this remains as one of the highlight of our travels in Colombia. Thank you again Andrés!Written December 17, 2022

This was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our trip!!! We could not have better things to say about it - our tour guide, Juan, was so amazing and knowledgable. We loved learning from him and had some amazing discussions altogether. Concordia is beautiful, and every step of the coffee tour was exquisite - from picking the berries ourselves, the breathtaking views of the coffee farm as we ascended up the mountains, seeing where the coffee is sold and packaged, and the AMAZING home cooked lunch at the end. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our group is still raving about this experience a month later. This is a must-do!!

Me and my 2 friends traveled to Colombia and chose to do this tour on our very last day. And it was the best decision and day of our entire 8 day trip. Juan picked us up in the morning and spent 10 hours with him. Drive was long and scenic as Juan taught us fun facts and information about every area we were driving through along with the best music. We then went ATV riding and Zip-Lining before experiencing and learning all about Coffee and the coffee process. Juan could not have been a better tour guide. he answered all questions and made the day extremely FUN!

I brought my husband and son with his new fiancée to Medellin as an early wedding present, and treated them to this tour and the city tour to Comuna 13. We had no idea how breathtaking the overall experience was going to be and it was the highlight of our vacation! Andres our guide has so much knowledge and such a desire to share his country with you...always able to answer our questions or share a fascinating story or two. At one point he took us to a vista on the on the coffee farms that gave us a 360 panorama of the countryside. We loved participating in the coffee harvesting process and seeing what all goes into its creation, and the lunch at the farm after was delightful. The drive to and from is not for the faint of heart - you'll be doing genuine 4-wheeling a few times but that's all part of the adventure! Do yourself a favor and book this tour. It's truly memorable.

A tour that doesn't feel like a tour in the best possible way. We learned what the coffee process is actually like in Colombia, and picked and processed coffee fruits with our own hands. The scenery in this part of Antioquia is unlike anything. The food was incredible. Andres was the perfect tour guide for us and our interests such as birds, plants, etc. We felt we were in the best possible hands. We ended about a 12-day vacation in Colombia with this tour, and are so grateful for the experience and beautiful memories it left us.

Andres is a perfect guide and knows everything about his country and the wildlife, birds especially. We did a private tour with my partner. He showed us the beautiful coffee region and made us pick coffee in the coffee fields and visit a coffee family factory. We had the opportunity to visit and have lunch in his own hacienda for an authentic experience. I recommand 100% Landventure travel.

This was a very authentic tour in Concordia area close to Medellin. This is def. designed for people who love coffee but has incredible scenery along the way, experienced during off roads alongside coffee beans hills, enjoying the views and the smells of the region. I am very happy we got to do this with Andre with explained to us how to make good coffee. My nephew and I enjoyed every bit of it and are thankful to Andre for sharing his knowledge and love for the country. I highly recommend this your and this agency to folks who want to experience what the country is all about.

This tour was incredible. We went to this coffee farm where we had the chance to collect the coffee fruit and follow the whole procedure until the coffee was packaged. The people there was so nice, and especially our guide Andres made it so special and interesting. If you visit Medellín you can’t miss this visit.

I did the Concordia coffee tour with Andrès in August 2024. My husband ended up having to cancel at the last minute. I went solo and had a wonderful day, so much so that I tried to go back a second time with my husband. Concordia is a beautiful town and the coffee plantation offers incredible views of the mountains. Andrès is very knowledgeable, energetic and friendly. I would highly recommend going on a tour with him on your next visit to Medellin!

We had such a great time! Juan was such a great tour guide. He gave us a detailed tour about the process of cultivating coffee from seed to packaging. We drove through the coffee plantation as a “coffee safari”, it was so fun! We had a delicious tasting of fresh coffee from the farm. We also had a traditional lunch at a nearby farm as well. We would absolutely recommend it as everyone kept COVID-19 guidelines in place.
