Let me start by saying you are in completely safe and capable hands with Oscar! It felt like a VIP tour the whole time!

I came to visit Colombia as a solo female traveler so I’m always extra extra careful who I pick as safety is always my first concern in any foreign country.

My schedule changed a few times and I had issues with my teeth hurting so badly, I asked Oscar if he could change times and also bring me water & bread hahaha! And surely, he did! He was so thoughtful and sweet!
We did the Guatape tour & coffee farm. It’s basically two tours in one day! Some quick highlights:
💥His command in English is impressive and very good!
💥He takes the best pictures
💥Very knowledgeable in his hometown
💥extremely flexible
💥easy going

We did the coffee farm first and got to hand pick the beans; he explained the life cycle of a bean and how it goes from farm to harvest. We got to meet the small family that has owned it for generations and even got to enjoy the breathtaking views it was set at.
There are clean bathrooms there to use and the coffee w the chocolate infused coffee was out of this world!!!
Be sure to bring pesos and buy your coffee here Bc your money is going to support a family, not a corporation. This humble family relies on these sales, especially during covid times. Oscar took videos and photos and I’m a diva who wants plenty of memories!

We then headed to Guatape and I told Oscar I’m too lazy to climb it 😂 he was very accommodating and instead took me to take a whole bunch of pictures around it while explaining the rich history of how the famous site came to be.
We went into the little colorful town that was adorned with beautiful artwork that told a story on each house. It’s amazing how the culture is so rich in art and how the paintings each had a meaning to it.

Because I couldn’t chew, Oscar made sure I could get something to eat. He asked the restaurant to blend my chicken and potato soup and even ordered fish so that it’s easier for me to digest. These touches meant the world!!!

I loved his tour so much, the next day I booked the Commune 13 tour. Wow the art work, stories, cable car ride, fruit tasting and the endless delicious street food was incredible!!!! I walked away feeling like I got to know much more about Medellin and learned so much history about Colombia and it’s dark past but bright future!

And of course, we had plenty of more pictures and he was so good about it!

During my stay in Colombia, I also would ask him random questions as I do not speak Spanish well and he was always available and helpful.

You don’t want to miss his tour! He is worth every penny as you won’t get a tour with a language barrier and he is so throughly funny and easy going; you would regret going with someone else! You can thank me later 😜!

I really can’t say enough good things about this tour and our tour guide, Yuly. If you decide you want to go to Guatape and see more of what Colombia has to offer, this is the tour for you.

The booking and coordination went very smoothly, the team was very responsive to any questions.

As soon as Yuly picked us up from the airport, I knew we were in good hands. We had just entered the country and weren’t able to get cash beforehand. Yuly helped us find an ATM to get cash and make me feel reassured that the trip would continue to go smoothly.

On the drive Yuly shared a lot about the history of Medellin and Colombia, and drive itself showed the gorgeous countryside Colombia has to offer.

The pacing of the tour overall was very well done. We stopped around halfway through the drive for a break and to have some fruit from a local market.

The rock at Guatape is a sight to behold. The steps can be a bit tiring, but it’s very much worth the effort. We had people of all ages walking up the steps with us, so most should be able to accomplish. Yuly gave us enough time to enjoy the views and take some photos before heading on the rest of the trip.

The walking tour of the town of Guatape was very informative and the town is beautiful. Yuly showed us a lot of the history of the town, and also took some great photos for us along the way.

If you’re a coffee fan, the farm portion of the tour is a must. You’ll gain a new appreciation for how much work goes into making coffee, and the family that runs the farm couldn’t have been nicer.

I really can’t thank Yuly enough for being a great tour guide. Mostly I appreciate that she treated us more like friends than tourists.

10/10 would go any trips offered by this agency.

This tour is a 10/10 all around, an unforgettable experience!! Oscar is extremely knowledeable and willing to answer any and all questions you may have. The fruit tasting was great as I was able to taste a bunch of fruits I’ve never even heard of (yet were delicious). The coffee farm experience is truly once in a lifetime—the local farmer teaches you how coffee is made from seed and seedling to the pouring of the final product in your cup, as well as getting to pick your own coffee beans. You also benefit from being away from all the huge tourist groups and in your small group with Oscar so you can even ask the coffee farmer himself any questions. Then, we headed to the big boulder (it was raining, oh well), but at the top was still a sight to see because we were essentially higher than the clouds due to the elevation which made for a cool but different experience. Then we headed to a local restaurant in Guatapé that Oscar knew about which serves up authentic foods and flavors. Finally, we strolled the colorful streets of Guatapé admiring the zócalo facades while Oscar explained the meaning behind it all. If you’re visiting Medellín, this tour is 100% a must do, you will not regret it!

We knew we were going to like Oscar as soon as he walked up to us! Greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome.

He asked about who were were, where we were from and by his non-threatening asking about us he connected our experience to each of us. Individual concern about each person enjoying the experience!

The fruit tasting was amazing! We probably tried 10 different fruits…each of us liked a few different ones and he explained what they were like or what they might taste like to us.

On the Rock…he made sure everyone was going okay and very professionally just made sure that we were climbing “ok” with out at all being demeaning. He did not make anyone feel bad about the rest That the slower members needed getting to the top.

Lunch! Wow! He took us to an amazing place! Food was simple excellent.

Coffee Plantation stop was the best part as he and the host farmer really explains the process…2.5 years in the making…we picked beans and they walked us the through the experience and the farmer and guide and the five of us had freshly dried and roasted coffee in both a pour over style and French roast. Great coffee! We ended up buying about 20 bags for family and friends back home in the states!

Overall if I could give Oscar the experience “6” stars I would! It was that good and you’d simply be missing out if you did not do this tour with Oscar.

One of the best tours if ever been on! I did the Guatape, Pierda del Peñol and Coffee Farm experience. This was one of the best parts of my trip to Medellin. Oscar is super friendly, knowledgeable and funny! On the drive to Guatape, we stopped for some breakfast with a great view at a small town. Oscar got us to Piedra del Peñol right on time, so we beat the long lines! Climbing the rock was such a cool experience, the views were definitely worth it! After we left the rock, Oscar took us to the town center of Guatape where he explained the history of the town and the zocalos. We had a very tasty lunch with a great view of the lake. We then when to the coffee farm, which had the most amazing view of the rock, Guatape and the town of Peñol. The coffee farmer was very friendly, we got to see and be a part of the entire coffee farming and preparing process. From planting our own trees, to picking and sorting. We got to pick and taste some exotic fruits while we were walking the farm. We then had one of the most amazing cups of coffee I’ve ever had in the world, right there on the farm. All in all - one of the best tours I’ve been on in the world. Oscar is a pro and you can tell he is very passionate about what he does and cares for his guests. Definite recommend if you’re visiting Medellin! Wish I had done some of his other tours as well!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I don’t even know where to start. from the beginning oscar picked us up at our place and got straight to the point, he taught us history about el peñon de guatape and even guatape the town itself. After we climbed the rock we explored the town, ate at an amazing traditional restaurant, and he even showed us cool hidden spots to take pictures. The coffee farm was also a fun experience! Not once did oscar made us feel bored, he knows his history and is a very nice & outgoing person. I highly recommend this experience and his other ones if you’re in Medellin

Espectacular! Spectacular!

There are many positive adjectives for the coffee plantation and Gautape experience with Oscar. At the very start Oscar took an interest in us as travelers making the experience feel tailored. From stops to learn about and taste local fruits, to stopping in the city to recount Guatape history, Oscar amazed at every turn.

In visiting the coffee plantation we got first hand experience in the process, with Oscar once again showing his wealth of knowledge. Learning the possess gives one a good understanding of the love it takes for coffee making. In Guatape we had plenty of time to take in the glorious sights never feeling rushed or burdensome to Oscar. The Coffee plantation and Guatape tour experience led us to request more tour experiences with Oscar knowing he would not disappoint.

Oscar made our tour very memorable! We started with fruit sampling then learned about the coffee process at a local coffee farm, then to La Piedra (climbed up for some gorgeous views), then to the town of Guatape where we had a delicious lunch. Oscar shared his valuable knowledge about the history of these places. It was very evident that he loves what he does and is passionate about having others experience the beauty of Colombia.

Highly recommended.
We did both the one-day Guatape/Peñol/coffee tour (Henry) and a half-day city walking tour (Oscar). Both were awesome. Definitely the way to go with four of us as we had our private car and moved at our own pace. Walking up the Peñol was 20-25 minutes and good views. The town was safe and quaint. Miller at the coffee tour was humble and gracious. Good times.
The 1/2 day walking tour was a great way to learn about the city on our first day to get acquainted with the area.
Oscar and Henry were AWESOME!!!
