Even if you are not a coffee drinker there is so much more to this tour. Carlos Valle was not only our driver, but also our tour guide and the seccond generation owner / coffee grower of the coffee plantation. Carlos is easy-going and amazingly knowledgeable, he also happend to be one a highly solicited invitee to coffee conferences all over the world. This tour will teach you about the process of coffee making from planting it to harvesting it to brewing it, as well as the byproducts of the coffee bean, environmental considerations, lifestyle or the “arrierros” (coffee harvester). We loved the fact that this tour is not in the so called “eje cafetero” (coffee axis) wich is about 5 to 6 hoir drive, but it is conveniently located at about 45 minutes from El Poblado in Medellin. You will still experience the mountain views and weather. I left a happy camper with our newly acquired knowledge and amazing memories.

A very informative and fun trip
May 2021 • Couples
The tour guide Carlos was very knowledgeable in all things coffee. This allowed him to give us a very authentic experience in all things coffee. His sense of humor made for a very pleasant experience as well. The food and coffee all included was well worth and much better than we could have possibly expected. Would definitely do again.

D’arrieros coffee tour
Feb 2020 • Couples
Our driver was very engaging; clearly loved his hone town Medellín; and spoke English well (self-taught!)! As we drove to our destination on the outskirts of the city, Jhony was frank about the past and that gave us context for our entire visit. Loved his translation strike. Highly interactive, personalised and fun visit. The added bonus was that this is a small, organic operation with a very good sense of what makes a tourist visit good value. Highly recommend it. .

Great coffee tour
Feb 2020 • Couples
An excellent day. Jhony our driver was fantastic and just getting to the farm and back was a great experience as he could share his personal knowledge of the recent history of the city. The farm itself was great. The hostess, Celine, was so knowledgeable and passionate, the explanations were great, coffee and food were excellent. Highly recommended.

Fun and delicious
Jan 2020
Driver Jorge was friendly and super helpful. Guides Julian and Pedro were great teachers, very enthusiastic and funny - able to switch between English and Spanish explanations seamlessly to keep everyone engaged. Loved that they are organic and use all parts of the coffee bean. The resulting drinks were amazing, while the food not only gave a sense of authentic Colombia but was tasty too. My only complaint if I had to make one is that the group was a bit on the larger side (~25 people), but again there was enough energy and interaction that I still give it 5 stars. One other thing to be aware is that there is a short hike up a hill to get to the tasting area/plantation.

Must go if you are in Medellín
Dec 2019 • Family
The coffee tour was amazing, the guides were extremely passionate about their craft of growing true authentic organic coffee. They give you a history of coffee all the way from its beginnings to how it ended up in the Americas. You also get to plant, and harvest coffee beans. They essentially show you the whole process from beginning to end. They are one of the only farms, if not the only farm that uses every part of the coffee bean and nothing goes to waste. They give you an in depth instruction on how to make the perfect cup or coffee. The food and beverages they provide are also outstanding. The whole coffee experience was truly fantastic and unforgettable. If you are doing the horseback riding then it will also be unforgettable. Don Carlos the owner of the farm is an expert horse rider and gives the beginner rider very thorough instructions on how to ride the horses/mules with confidence. He’s also very attentive and always makes sure that you are okay with the majestic animal. The views are breathtaking. I highly, highly recommend anyone to do both the coffee tour and horseback riding. Just truly incredible and will be an experience that you will never forget in your life time. We will be coming back one day. They truly treat you like you are part of their family. Best regards -Leo, Hannah & Ziki

Educational and Fun!
We had a blast and learned so much. Celene is a fabulous educator and Jose, Jillian and Mateo (who was also our driver) helped to translate as my fiancé and I were one of the only English couples on the trip. Honestly by the time we left we all felt like family, no matter the difference in our native tongue! We loved picking the coffee berries and getting to try the other drinks made from the skin and flesh that big companies would just discard. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Medellin!

Great tour- lovely people!
We really enjoyed our coffee tour. It was so interesting learning about the history of the coffee bean and how they grow it on the plantation. We tried some incredible coffee and even got to take some home with us. Jose, julian and Carlos are all so friendly and welcoming and even though we were the only English speaking in the group they made sure we weren't missing out on any of the information. The views from the plantation are stunning and the outfits make for some great pictures. Would definitely recommend.
