Guide was excellent, and the farmers so generous, kind, and interesting. We really enjoyed our time and highly recommend this personalized and educational tour.Written January 11, 2025
- 18madelinet0 contributionsBeautiful day at the Coffee FarmJust a short drive from downtown is another world on this beautiful coffee farm. Laura, our guide was so fun, energetic, and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about the coffee process and even got to dress up and pick coffee beans ourselves. Not to mention an amazingly delicious snack Cooked by the family that owns this beautiful farm. Not to be missed.Written January 11, 2025
- P1169XZpattys0 contributionsBest day of our trip to MedellinAmazing day at a real coffee farm. Daniel was a fantastic guide. Learned so much and had loads of fun. Super convenient to Medellin. 10/10. Highly recommendWritten January 11, 2025
- Roving113220442010 contributionsFun & Educational TourMy husband and I had a great time on our tour with Daniel. We had a short time in the Medellin area, so we wanted to find a tour that efficiently showed us as much as possible around Guatape. This was perfect for that - it was an exciting day without feeling too jam-packed or tiring. Daniel is also incredibly knowledgeable, and I especially appreciated his willingness to answer our cultural questions. We wanted to understand the history of the region, and he was very educational. We learned so much and would definitely recommend this tour to others!Written January 10, 2025
- michaellat20250 contributionsPhenomenal Cultural ExperienceThis tour was a phenomenal cultural experience. Our guide, Alejandro, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging and spoke fluent English. We experienced a local farmer's market where Alejandro gathered local fruits for us to sample, a tourist stop with restaurant and free range farm animals, an amazing tour of a local coffee farm, climbed to the top of Guatape Rock, and then finished our tour with a stroll around one of the most picturesque towns I have ever seen. Overall a 10/10 excursion. Our group ranged in age from 13-55 and it was suitable for the entire group.Written January 9, 2025
- karlieb20250 contributionsHoneymoon adventuresWe had the best day! Our tour guide Sara was so amazing, kind, informative and just all around great! We could not have asked for better, highly recommend!!Written January 8, 2025
- Becca K0 contributionsGreat varied day trip!We had a great trip with Laura and felt like we had a very varied day. We left Medellín at 7 which allowed us to get to our locations before they got too busy. We started with some physical activity (climbing the rock is worth the effort) and then learned some of the history of the town of Guatape itself. We had a little time to explore ourselves before heading to the coffee farm. There we picked beans and learned about the process before tasting some of their coffee. The fruit tasting was interesting, with fruits we have not seen in Europe. Laura was good enough to stop on the way back to Medellin to allow us to sample some street food too. A great excursion from the city and well worth doingWritten January 7, 2025
- 690adeliap0 contributionsThe process of coffee from the seed to the cupYuly was great guide. She was very friendly and explained very well the experience before we began when she picked us up from our hotel. Aleja, the daughter of the owner of the coffee farm we visited was very knowledgeable and both of them, Yuly and Ale, taught us A LOT about the history of the area, the struggles the families have had to keep their farms and the process of the coffee bean from the seed to the collection of the mature beans and how they produce and sell their coffee. Also, the different ways to prepare coffee. It was a very enrich experience that I recommend to national and tourists especially if you drink coffee.Written January 7, 2025
- nmabrea0 contributionsFantastic Learning Experience on a Coffee Farm[Private Tour Review] Absolutely had a blast on the Private Tour. Was able to communicate with MedellinDayTrips easily through WhatsApp—they were incredibly accommodating with availability and English-speaking needs. They set us up with Esteban who showed us a fantastic time on a family-owned coffee farm in Sabaneta. It was apparent that he had a strong relationship with the coffee farm, and he was also able to educate us on local foods, fruits, coffee processes/history, and city history. The farmers are very friendly and accommodating too. Their animals are very social and so cute—especially their chickens. To prepare, bring light clothing that covers your skin. They provide boots for walking around the coffee farm. Also wear sunblock! Overall, would highly recommend! You get to meet the coffee farmers, taste their coffee, and experience a taste of their work (they work hard!) Thank you again Esteban! ✨Written January 6, 2025
- leahmQ3212GF0 contributionsGreat tour company in and around Medellin! We had two wonderful days spent with Erika. On our first day she gave us a tour of Medellin including Comuma 13, a cable car ride above the city and the downtown area. We spent the next day going to Guatape Rock, exploring the colorful and picturesque town of Guatape. and visiting a coffee plantation. Communication with this company was excellent! Erika showed up on time (early actually) for both tours. She was a great guide, funny, personable, a safe driver, and she took some great photos as an added bonus. The coffee plantation was a very unique experience and we enjoyed getting to see the entire coffee production from start to finish. We took several tours during our time in Colombia with several different companies, and MedellinDayTrips was by far the best company to work with and Erika was our best guide! Highly recommend!Written January 6, 2025
- Storyteller4560950 contributionsHave a blast on ATVs and horses. We had an incredibly awesome time on both the Yamaha ATVs and the horse rides. We were met by Andres at our hotel. He spoke both English and Spanish fluently and was very informative on the ride to the ATVs and the horses. He picked us up in an air conditioned and comfortable SUV. The ride on the ATVs was a lot of fun. My three adult children, husband and I all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had various terrain and magnificent views. We loved flying through the puddles, navigating hills, turns and rocky terrain. We loved the mud. It was far from boring. Equally if not more thrilling for us was riding the horses. I’ve ridden horse about five other times in the states and these horses were by far the most relaxed and cooperative I’ve ever been on. I thought I’d be a little nervous and I was not at all. I felt completely safe and at ease. The tour was so much fun and again the scenery was beautiful. We started just at a slow pace and worked up to trotting then went up and down hills all the while enjoying the gorgeous views. On our way back we were asked if we wanted to gallop. Some of us did and boy, it was a blast! We could not stop smiling from all the fun we had. My adrenaline seeking son said it was his favorite experience and we’ve been doing tours all over Colombia for a week now. I could not recommend Andres enough. He was fun and professional. I enjoyed doing our tour so much we chose him for our next adventure to Guatapé and a boat ride with his team for our next day. You can’t go wrong choosing Medellin Day Trips.Written January 5, 2025
- anontripadviso0 contributionsAmazing coffee tour would do again!I had an absolutely fantastic experience on the coffee tour with Sara! Her knowledge of and passion for coffee were truly impressive, and she made the entire tour both educational and fun. The coffee was absolutely delicious—easily some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Sara’s service was amazing; she went above and beyond! The views from the farm are breathtaking as well! I appreciated how well-organized and seamless the entire experience was. I would 100% do this tour again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!Written January 5, 2025
- JAM_Traveler30 contributionsRace to the TOP for the best views! We decided to explore outside of Medellin and this area looked absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide, Erika, picked us up early to get a head start. She knows all the best places to try Colombian treats on the way. We stopped for coffee, cookies and empanadas. She also stopped and picked up a variety of fruits to try, since we had missed that on the tour the previous day. She really made sure we didn't miss out. We arrived at Guatape Rock and, of course, my husband and I raced to the top. I definitely had to take a few minutes to catch my breath half way up. Make sure you check out the views! We enjoyed the day at Guatape town, the colorful buildings, and artsy people. Definitely a must. Because we already had a separate coffee tour set up for the next day, we changed this trip to include a visit to a cacao farm called Finca El Toche. We really loved the owner Jhon and his family. This was a new tour for MedellinDay Trips and we hope it continues.Written January 4, 2025

We loved our city tour with Andres! Andres spoke great English, and has a depth of knowledge and personal history to share with you about Medellín. He was very punctual and his car was clean and comfortable. The tour is organized in a great way to show you the maximum possible of the city. We enjoyed taking public transit, walking around different neighborhoods, and learning about many significant buildings. Through this tour, Andres helped us better understand both the history and geography of Medellin. We loved this tour and we now have a new love for Medellin - thanks, Andres!

I highly recommend this tour. Alejandro, the guide was fantastic. He is knowledgeable, kind, and funny. He tailored the tour to what I was most interested in and took the time to make sure that all of my questions were answered. His English is fluent and we had no trouble communicating.
We started at the Memory House Museum which was emotional, but it helped put the rest of the tour into the context of the history of Medellin and Colombia. After that, the rest of the tour was lighter and a lot of fun.
Alejandro also made sure that we were safe at all times. This included letting me know when to pay closer attention in crowds and taking covid precautions.

I would definitely recommend Medellin Day Trips for a city tour. Firstly, my pre booking communication with Andres ( who runs the company) was excellent. He is very polite, informative, helpful and happy to answer any questions with patience and courtesy, He was even kind enough to arrange a pick up from the airport for me to start the city tour as i was flying in on the same day, My guide for the city tour was Alejandro. He was simply superb! He was knowledgable, cheery and an easy going, amiable person. I really enjoyed the fruit tasting part at the local market and experiencing the local transportation system. The Salon Malaga was a cool experience too and i enjoyed seeing the sculptures in Botero Square, I felt safe at all times and thoroughly enjoyed this overview of the city. Everyone in the company spoke excellent English and they truly look after their customers. If you are short of time and looking for excellent customer service, then please book with Medellin Day Trips, you will not be disappointed!

We took this tour with Alejandro in early April 2022. Alejandro is a very knowledgeable and personable host for this experience, and he kept up a running commentary about the background and history of everything we saw. I especially appreciated his insights into the conditions of life in the famous Comuna13 neighborhood. This is a poor and periodically dangerous area made famous by its mural and music art and by its association with Pablo Escobar. The tourist boom here has benefited the barrio unevenly, while the costs of crowding, traffic, etc are borne by all who live there. I feel like he helped us understand the place better, get under the surface a little, and also be better guests and not treat the place like a zoo. Really enjoyed the day and can’t recommend the tour enough.
I also am very impressed with Alejandro specifically. He was great company all day long, and a the end of the tour he gave us his WhatsApp info and invited us to ping him with any other questions we had while in Colombia. We took him up on that a few days later and he came through for us when he didn’t have to. Good, professional guy.

It took me over 6 months to plan this 6 day trip to Medellin. So many hotels and excursions to pick from. I kept changing my mind to maximize my stay. I usually start with a tour of the city, so we can figure out where to go. Tour of Medellin - "off the beaten path" was perfect. I highly recommend this tour so you can learn the history of the city and ask all the questions on where to go on your own, where is safe, best tours, local favorites, etc. This company has multiple trips, so check them out.
Erika, our tour guide, is always early, always smiling, always fun, and just a great person to be around. She picked us up at our hotel (she's always early) and showed us all around the city central. We went to the museums, parks, shopping areas, took the city tram, and a cable car. We learned so much about the history and culture. We stopped a few times for street food and coffee too. Buñuelos! Just big ball of cheesy goodness for sure. This tour is a must!
Tip: We wore shorts, and NO ONE does. It seems that only tourists do. I get hot, so I wore shorts. Medellin, everyone wears jeans or pants, and tops/shirts. Wear a good pair of walking shoes.

This is the perfect day tour of Medellin. Our tour guide Alejo Duque was everything we could ask for. Alejo met us on-time at our hotel for pick up. He made sure we had all of our needs met before beginning the tour. The tour lasts about 5-6 hours long. Prepare yourself to walk! Time will go by very quickly seeing and visiting all of the sites. It rained off an on throughout the day and we had a great time nonetheless. at one time, while seeking shelter from the rain, Alejo took us to a historical pub in the city where we could stop and grab a drink while enjoying the history and beauty of teh downtown area. From beginning to end, the whole day is really unforgettable. If you are wanting to get to know Medellin, book this tour. Alejo, again, thank you!!

Our tour with Erika was nothing short of AMAIZING. She promptly picked us up at our hotel and gave us an tour of the city. We started in the city center where she explained the history of Medellin to us. During our time in the city center she offered the option to change one of our stops to visit Commune 13. Since we were short on time (we were only in the city for the weekend) she mentioned that this was a must see part of the city. Boy were we glad that she gave us this option. Commune 13 was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Medellin. While there we had the opportunity to try the best local empanadas and Colombian delicacy's we had during our trip. We also saw some of the amazing art in the area. We loved it.
Our tour with Erika was perfect, we would highly recommend that you plan your tours in Medellin with MedellinDayTrips.

Andres was an amazing tour guide! What I love about Medellín Day trips is you can customize your tour to be what you want. Andres was so personable and knowledgeable. This was my second time doing the city tour and he showed us a few things I had not seen before. He even let me have my 1/2 hour in the museum shop. In the afternoon we went to play Tejo at the most most beautiful place. Thank you Andrea for such a great day!
