About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Adventure5792350 contributionsStunning vistas and a special dayGreat experience! John, our tour guide, picked us up from our hotel in the morning and drove us to Guatape. We climbed the 700 steps to the top of La Piedra to stunning views. Wow! We then drove to the nearby town of Guatape which was quaint, colorful and photogenic. John took us to some good shopping areas for chocolate, coffee, emeralds and other souvenirs. The tour company and John were great and arranged a birthday surprise for one of our tour members at a local restaurant - thank you for making this a memorable and fantastic day for all of us!Written October 1, 2024
- Z8035UDmarkm0 contributionsAndres Gonzales - the best Pablo Escobar tour guideWe took a private Pablo Escobar tour with Andres Gonzales, and he was an excellent guide. We toured the cities where Pablo conducted his life and tried hiding from his enemies. The Parque which the government sponsored as they demolushed his Palace is rather eye opening. The deaths he was involved with amounted to 46k people, so he was truly a wicked man, and a narcissist. Always on the move. Andres was an excellent guide and the tour was quite revealing of the history of Columbia. I highly recommend Andres! He was professional, very knowledgeable and very pleasant. We enjoyed his company and are proud to know him. Take the tour with him; you won't be dissatisfied. He's GREAT!.Written August 23, 2024
- ErickD941140 contributionsThe best tour I've ever been on!John was the BEST tour guide I've ever had! I've never had a tour guide take such care to accommodate me. HIGHLY recommendWritten July 31, 2024
- ThomasCopeland0 contributionsBeautiful scenes at every turnGreat time and very scenic. The quaint town of Guatape was a joy to walk. At every corner there was something to photograph.Written June 29, 2024
- MaryLynn D0 contributionsTake this tour with CarlosCarlos Restrepo was our guide and he did a great job. He was very personable, spoke English well, and was very informative. He did the tour in an organized fashion and told us about all the neighborhoods so we felt like we got a little more than just Pablo info. To top it off - he was a good driver😜Written June 19, 2024
- OnAir8017040 contributionsWorth it!This tour was incredible! Carlos was our guide, and he was wonderful. He picked us up on time at our hotel, and took us out to El Penol, telling us about the area and answering all of our questions. El Penol itself is an intense climb, but the views are so worth it! And then we were able to go into the town of Guatape, wander around, and had a great lunch at a restaurant recommended by Carlos. And, after seeing the multiple group tours all being herded around, we were so glad to have booked a private tour-it’s definitely worth the cost! Overall it was a great day and one we will not forget!Written June 14, 2024
- Arya G0 contributionsAmazing Transformation of Previously Dangerous AreaVery cool to learn about the transformation of Medellin following the Escobar Era. It was amazing to see the effects of arts and culture have such an impact in keep a community in harmony. I really appreciated how passionate my guide was to teach me about his experiences growing up here.Written May 24, 2024
- eshalp20170 contributionsGreat tour and guide! This tour was very fun and informative. Our guide John was extremely friendly and energetic. He told the story of Pablo that was nicely intertwined with the places we were visiting. We were never rushed throughout the entire time and it was a great experience!Written April 18, 2024
- jennamR1280OO0 contributionsAmazing tour guideOut guide John was amazing, he taught us so much about the history of Comuna 13 and what it was like growing up in the city. He was so passionate about this city and made this experience unforgettable for us. He was very accommodating to my grandmother who couldn't walk very well. He was kind and so knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this tour enough, the story of Communal 13 is tragic yet shows the resilience of this city and it's people. John showed us this, and was so great we booked a second tour with him. Cannot recommend this tour and guide more! John and this tour was one fight highlights if our trip to Medellin.Written March 23, 2024

- sakosaer0 contributionsHighly Recommend Great way to see MedellinIt was a great half day tour. Saw exactly what I wanted to see and a lot more too (rode metro train for eg). David was a knowledgable, professional and friendly host. Gustavo a proficient and safe driver in both peak hour traffic and the narrow windy roads of Commune 13. Prompt and efficient too w lot of interesting info regarding Medellin. I got a real good start to see and understanding the city in this tour. Thanks guysWritten January 31, 2024
- ingrid67000 contributionsGreat experience, must do in MedellinThis was a great tour. We always had great communication before the actual tour. Our guide was Erickson. He gave us his number early in the tour so we could keep in touch. We visited El Peñol, which was great, then we went to the damn cruise. Lunch in the cruise was small, but tasty. We also visited Guatapé, which we loved! Just keep in mind we got back to the city almost at 10pm. Between people being late, traffic, it took more time than advertised. However, we loved it!Written January 13, 2024
- karinhV5753WF0 contributionsAmazing tour with John!John was such an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable, kind, and just overall amazing! He adjusted the tour to my needs, and I would have loved to do all of our tours in Columbia with him! John was such a great representative of all warm-hearted Columbians and this stunning country! Touring with him is your biggest luck!Written January 11, 2024
- Norma G0 contributionsStrong recommendation (incl. La Catedral)Very good and enthusiastic guide (John) willing to share all information and perspectives. Very good English level. We went also to La Catedral, which we definitely recommend. The tour is very expensive but very much worth the money for the private tour.Written January 1, 2024
- Amaya A0 contributionsMuch better with a guideWe went to El peñón de Guatape, Guatapé, el salto de tequendamita, with Gustavo and we had the most amazing day. Gustavo was the perfect guide, explaining history, customs, nature.. very friendly and approachable. Thank you for the best day!Written December 9, 2023

We are now returned from our amazing trip to Colombia and back to our routine lives. But whenever anyone asks how our trip was, I mention this amazing tour! The colorful town of Jardin was the cutest ever. I want to go back! The tour of the coffee plantation was a must-do in Colombia. So interesting to learn exactly how my daily cup of java is made! Sitting on that wrap around balcony sipping the freshly made coffee while looking out at the amazing mountain views and colorful birds was something we will never forget. The massive waterfall was amazing. And our wonderful guide, Oscar, was with us on every step explaining the history and stories of the town making the experience so much more interesting. He was very helpful with my husband who has some trouble walking and very ready to take pictures when I asked. Thank you for the tour!! It was incredible!

We had the pleasure of joining our guide, Oscar, on a full day coffee tour with the optional waterfall additions that was absolutely delightful!! He picked us up directly from our hotel and transported us through the stunning countryside to the quintessential village of Jardin where we enjoyed lunch and a tour of the village. We then proceeded to a small hike (10 minutes) to the first waterfall and the coffee plantation where we met Augustin who offered us the best lemonade refreshments we’ve ever had! Augustin and Oscar then walked us through each step of the coffee harvesting process even down to hand roasting fresh coffee beans which we then enjoyed on the scenic patio overlooking the mountains. It was such an informative, enjoyable, and delightful experience. We then returned to the car for a short drive and walk to the second waterfall which was also gorgeous and well worth the extra time. When our day in Jardin was over we headed back to Medellín and once again enjoyed the wonderful views and stopped for refreshments on the way at a great sunset view spot that Oscar suggested.
The day was nothing short of perfect! Oscar was so knowledgeable about coffee and the region, but even more so he was so welcoming, an open book about Colombian culture, and was wildly entertaining - it was so easy to spend the day learning from him and seeing the countryside through his eyes. We could not more highly recommend this tour!!!!

Our group of 5 did a full-day tour with Lina as our guide - and we would recommend it to any coffee fanatic, as well as anyone looking to see the countryside of Antioquia. Lina was a great guide, and she was a wealth of knowledge about the history and current developments of the region and Medellin. We stopped in the beautiful town of Jardin and had a typical Paisa lunch, and got to do a taste test at one of the local roasters. The tour of the coffee farm was not only beautiful given the scenery, but very informative into the process of how coffee actually gets to the table. The family was incredibly generous and welcomed us to their home. Overall it was an authentic experience that I would highly recommend, and one I will never forget.

Hello
Last week, my fiance and I joined this private tour. The coffee finca was amazing...Don Jaime and his esposa was soo accommodating...we had a nice pastry and picked coffee beans and tried the coffee produced by Don Jaime plus a sample of the aperitif they make. The tour guide Daniella and the driver Jaime were very nice, genuine and informative. But. ...
The ride was very very long due to construction and the occasional uncleaned debris from multiple landslides in the mountains.
There was only 1 washroom break for the 4 hour ride there. And one for the 4 hour ride back.
My fiance developed stomach issues and even though we paid to see the waterfall, we could not go...as only on the tour, and not in advance, did they inform us it was a ' 40 minute walk to visit the waterfall and return, excluding the time at the waterfall'., I was not offered a refund for the extra money we paid for the waterfall tour. If I knew in advance of this long trek, I would not have taken and paid for the waterfall option. If I knew there was only 1 washroom break every 4 hours, I would not have booked this tour at all.
The guide told us,'sorry to treat you like children, but there are no washroom stops...you must hold it'....this is not what I expected from private tour.....seriously....it is disrespectful.
I would recommend this tour to those who have strong bladders and those who dont mind a 40 minute trek plus visiting timd on foot to see a waterfall.
I know we dont have the convenience of North America here, but to those who have even the slightest urge to use the washroom more than once every 4 hours; this may not me the tour for you....like it was not a good situation for us.
It was over 11 hour tour total for 1 hour in le Jardin and maybe 1.5 hours at the coffee finca...do the math.
I spend almost $500 US for 2 people..I felt like I could have spent my money better elsewhere..maybe a 1/2 day coffee tour and the rest for a nice meal....
