This was such a great experience. I believe we went to the wrong location so we ended up having a private tasting as opposed to a group experience but that made it even better! Alejandra did a fantastic job explaining every rum we tried and the little snacks that were provided were delicious! This was a great experience for our evening, learning about each rum and where it came from was great!

This rum tasting was a major highlight of our trip to Cartagena! After a day of exploring the old town and eating ceviche, we were ready to taste some rum at El Arsenal! Koko our connoisseur introduced us to a 8 distinct Colombian rums. The rum on its own was fantastic, however, the pairing with the chocolate took the experience to the next level. We were blown away by how well they complemented each other. Koko was friendly and an exellent teacher. Her passion for the art of rum tasting was evident and contagious. We hope to be back!

Outstanding. ALEJANDRA was fantastic. She explained everything about the rum and the chocolate. This is a uniquely Colombian experience. The restaurant also sent over peppers, yucca, and meatballs for the food pairing. The whole experience was outstanding. I search out these kinds of local tastings especially with food pairings and this is one of the best I've had around the world. 5 stars.

We booked this as our last experience in Colombia and all I can say is we did good! Neither of us are ‘rum’ drinkers/lovers but we left as rum experts! Our host, Cherie, was fun and informative and gave a great explanation of all 8 (10) rums we tasted alongside the perfect parings. Not going to to lie, we left slightly inebriated but well worth the money we paid.
I highly recommend doing this regardless of the group you’re with as neither of us knew about the variety of rums until this wonderful experience.

We absolutely LOVED our educational experience with Ale!!!! The 2+ hours we spent this afternoon learning about the chocolate process was amazing. We rolled up our sleeves, got our hands dirty and made our own chocolate to take home. Ale’s knowledge of the process and ability to articulate the finest points (in English for us) was wonderful. If you’re looking for an afternoon outing, I would highly recommend this activity. We will be telling all that ask, ‘what should we do in Cartagena?’, ‘do the chocolate tasting’. To my delight, it was so much more.

This was a MUST do, never tasted any rhum quite like this. Sebas was amazing, we learned so much about rhum and the snacks and chocolate were out of this world. I would definitely recommend that anyone visiting Cartagena experiences the rhum tasting at the Rum Box.

From French Polynesia a warm Mauruuru Roa! Excellent and captivating presentation of Local Rums and Colombian history. I am an English only speaker and found her relatable and genuine. She shared some notes in French which I greatly appreciated as I am more experienced un the French language. If you plan in book this is experience ask for Chérie and you will NOT be disappointed.

Sebas was very informative and offered a rum tasting based on what we enjoyed. He made us feel very comfortable and we went at a leisurely pace that allowed us to fully enjoy it. The combination of food and chocolate enhanced the rum perfectly and we would definitely return and recommend it to our friends, Sebas is a must.
