They arrange everything exactly how you want from transport to food to activities and make sure you are safe and having fun the entire time. I had my bachelorette in Cartagena and my friends used Hi Cartagena travel to help plan our itinerary, which was amazing for getting restaurant and bar reservations at popular places, booking club tables & getting quick entry into those clubs. Which, by the way, they have a lot of pull at these places! but when we arrived, they did SO much more than that. They delivered groceries, made sure we always had enough water bottles, sent a team member to be with us when we walked the city, provided us tips and advice on arrival, coordinated all our transportation, helped communicate with Kate, whenever we ran out of anything, we all had access to their group chat and could request it and it would be there so quickly! I can’t say enough how amazing this service was - 0 chance I’d ever do a group trip to Colombia without them. Also it was seriously the best trip of my life!!

Hi Cartagena Travel went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. They made our experience great, suggesting great places to eat and organizing activities for our group. They had provide us with all we needed in order to have the best accommodation. Their attention to detail and excellent customer service made our experience even better. They made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time.

Great Day out to VIP BEACH Club. The hospitality was one of the best I have experienced. I would highly recommend if wanting a relaxing day with a few drinks by the pool.

Terrible experience. These people tried to rob us and take more money out of us 24 hours after our boat tour saying we “owed” money once we had already payed everything. They were threatening us to pay $380 extra with no explanation of where this cost came from with no receipt. Be aware these people are scam artists.

We booked a private snorkeling tour with this company, and it was not up to the standard of the other 20 or so snorkeling tours I've been on in my life: no water or drinks were provided (a safety issue given how hot and dehydrated one can get on these tours), lunch was an extra fee and very pricey relative to other meals in Cartegena (35usd for seafood), we were not given any information around what types of marine life we might see, and one of the stops called 'Playa Blanca' sounded lovely until we get there and see a narrow strip of sand about 20m x 5m with garbage washed up on it. Completely unacceptable. It feels like these guys just rented a boat and are taking tourists out with no actual knowledge of where to snorkel or what to see.

We were a group of 15 and we took three trips with this agency. While their presentation is great, make sure you read the fine print: they will start charging you once you arrive. They changed our final Bill several times and there’s definitely no attention to details. They are quite expensive: they charged us $15 usd for a vegan plate of some stale rice with fried plantains. They are not very scrupulous: the bizarre food tour was $120usd per person, so they made 1200usd off us. We were taken to three spots, every one of them had the same fried meat. They knew we had two vegans, they never mentioned there will be nothing except meat and water. They drove us for almost 2 hrs one way for some side of the road diner where we were offered more meat we didn’t even try. The bus didn’t have a/c and the day was a pure physical torture. Their bora bora vip tour is the only thing I can recommend, but then everyone on the island offers the same. I am sorry I decided to go with that company since they also wasted hours of my time with meaningless communication: instead of trying to resolve many many issues that arose, they kept writing to me how great their company was and how happy everyone is. I guess people just don’t want to deal with that during their vacation. It was my 50th birthday. They made sure it wasn’t too enjoyable.

Booking: We rented a 39 foot private boat for 16 people on Hi Cartagena's website. The day before departure, we were messaged by the company saying that the boat was not available. They started offering us boats that were not nearly as nice as what we had originally rented for the same price as we paid. I told them that I would not accept a worse boat for the same price. I asked about availability of several other boats on their website (all of which showed available on the website) and was told that none of them were available. Finally, they suggested a boat that was a little worse than our original boat but was acceptable. I said that we would take the boat. Then, a few minutes later, they messaged again saying that this boat was actually not available. They started giving me the same run around and showed me several other boats that were not nearly up to par with what we originally rented. At this point, I told them that I did not want to rent with them and that I wanted a refund so I could book a boat with a different operator. I asked numerous times for a refund so I could book with a different operator. Finally, the manager stepped in and told me that the boat that the boat that I had agreed to as a replacement "just became available again". They said they would include hotel pickup/dropoff (this was supposed to be included anyway). I had already spent an hour dealing with this and accepted. They also mentioned that this boat could accommodate more people than our original booking (which was supposed to be for 16 people). We got to the dock with all 16 people and were told that the boat was only for 15 and that we would have to pay an extra fee for the additional person. I explained that our booking was for a 16 person boat and that they told me our replacement boat was for more than 16. I told them I would not pay the extra fee, and they agreed to waive it. I imagine this is common practice for the company. Customers book a boat on their website, and they end up giving you a different boat. I assume most people do not know the difference, but as an avid boater, this was very frustrating to me. Trip: The actual trip was good. Our captain and mate were nice guys and did a good job. It is worth doing this trip while in Cartagena. Only downside was that our boat only had 3 feet of non-marine grade anchor chain, so the captain and his mate struggled to get a good hold with the anchor. We spent a lot of time trying to get the anchor to not drag. Safety/Weather: As an avid boater who has owned boats my entire life and has sailed many places throughout the world, I would like to caution people that the activities that take place at these islands is the most unsafe and reckless boating that I have ever seen in my life. Please be careful! Drunk people on rented jet skis will race by groups of swimmers at extremely close and unsafe distances. Please exercise extreme caution while swimming. The winds had picked up on our return to Cartagena, and the water became quite rough. We felt comfortable during the return, but some people may be nervous. I imagine these companies will run trips in bad weather because they do not want to refund money, so I advise guests to do their own weather check to ensure they are comfortable with the conditions they will see.

Borderline fraudulent operation, beware! The company had no issue taking my money online for an apartment rental for a stay in Cartagena. After booking, I reached out to asked about the general location of the apartment, and that's when the red flags started. First, they didn't want to chat on their website, and asked if we could what'sapp, so I said sure, no problem. Then upon chatting, they wouldn't answer my question about location, and then said they needed to check on availability. Red flag #2, why allow me to book, AND take my money, if you don't know about availability. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I allowed them the time to check. Then no response. The next day, no response again, so I reached back out. They said they were still checking and when I asked when I would hear, they said 'mid-day'. That was 10 days ago. I reached out on Monday for a status, no response. Tuesday, no response. Finally today, when I suggested this was fraudulent, and I would be posting a review, they finally responded and without any explanation, apology or anything else, simply said, 'we will give the money back'. I'm not sure if the pandemic has caused them to lose sight of their values and mission, but for any future travelers, I urge caution with this company.

The team from Hi Cartagena helped me plan the best proposal ever. Not working with this group for your next trip would be a terrible mistake. The proposal day consisted of a private ATV tour through Tierra Bomba during the morning. The night consisted of a private sunset cruise around the city, a romantic dinner at a boutique beach club overlooking the coast - Eteka, and finally, Hi Cartagena’s own beach club with a beautiful set up for the final proposal. The team arranged photography, a concierge, drinks, music, and decoration for the night. I am sure they also took care of many things that I am not aware of to ensure the night went perfect. Kate and Luisa began working with me months before the big event to ensure every step of the night was accounted for. They made themselves available for several calls leading up to the event to solidify the details. They both were very patient, kind, and treated me like family. The day of the event couldn’t have been more perfect. The photographers, David and Joseph, were fantastic. We felt like celebrities. Their keen eye for shots were impressive. After the sunset tour in the yacht, we were transported to Eteka for a very delicious dinner and more great photos. Then, we took the yacht to Hi Cartagena’s beach club where Milagros (our concierge for the night) and Luisa set up the locale and helped planned the big question. Milagros contacted me first thing in the morning and made sure all check points went well and coordinated with the appropriate people along the way. At their beach club, they had an amazing setup with flowers, music, and drinks for the big question - photographs capturing the entire night. We finally took the yacht back to Cartagena with the team and shared laughs and stories with the team. Hi Cartagena is an amazing group of people, who care for you and go above and beyond to ensure your event goes without a hitch. Their reassurance, diligence, professionalism, and attention to detail made me feel at ease and with no worries. My day was made simple and effortless - all thanks to Hi Cartagena! The value they bring goes beyond their great prices and amenities, it includes trust and care. I can’t speak highly enough of this team, and look forward to my next trip to Cartagena so I can plan another unforgettable adventure with Hi Cartagena.

The beautiful people of Hi Cartagena (Kate, Luisa, Milagros, Joseph, and David) helped my fiancé plan the most romantic proposal EVER! The night was magical. We had a sunset cruise, romantic dinner, and a final stop at the HICARTAGENA beach club for the proposal. Joseph and David were there throughout the night taking pictures. They were so professional and made us feel so comfortable. I can’t wait to see how they captured our love! I can’t thank them enough for their attention to detail but most importantly for all the love and care they put into the night. They truly made me feel like a queen, and it couldn’t have happened without them. Even though friends and family could not be there for such an important night, Luisa and Milagros made us feel genuinely cared for. I could tell they were so happy for us, and that was one of the best things they did for us. Thank you, chicos, for everything! We will be using your services for future wedding festivities. We loved Cartagena!!

Our group had an excellent experience with Hi Cartagena! Everything was taken care of from the start to finish during our stay in Cartagena and we would rebook with them in a heartbeat. We booked our trip through Andy and he made sure we always had everything we need. Our concierge Jesus went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met 24/7! Best travel company in Colombia. When they say all-inclusive they mean it. Airport shuttles, chefs, security, 24/7 concierge, the best recommendations, and amazing accommodations. Grateful for Rob and his team taking care of us and making our trip to Cartagena one to remember.

My wife and I were in Cartagena for our anniversary last weekend, and wanted to do a bunch of things while we were there. Our first night we were on our own and after dinner had a bit of an issue finding a place that was fun, but that we wouldn’t have to wait in line for. The next morning I did some research and found Hi Cartagena. We ended up booking Juan for the next night as our guide, and it was a great idea. Juan met us out, got us into the packed clubs/lounges, got us tables, was our translator as well. The experience was so great that we ended up booking Juan for the next couple days as well. He helped us to book fully stocked boats the next two days (Cholon Island, and Bora Bora Beach Club), and again used him as a nightlife guide, and to book some reservations for us. First off, all of this just made our lives so much easier and less stressful. Any time day or night, I could WhatsApp Juan and he took care of anything we needed. Also, Juan was just a great guy, lots of fun, genuinely helpful, and even introduced us to friends of his as well who were great. I couldn’t believe after a night out he was already texting me at 7:15 am to make sure they were getting exactly what I wanted for our boat. The company was great from start to finish, and Juan went above and beyond at all times. I highly recommend you ask for him when you book.
