Experience ease with a private tour
Our Tour Guide Natalia and Wilson the driver were great! The experience was worth the peace of mind of a safe and easy journey and having the beach mostly to ourselves after the short boat ride. The lunch was good - standard fair of fried fish or chicken with rice and patacones. And minimal vendor traffic. We left at 7am and the early rise was worth it! Suggestio to bring snacks and water to hold you over until lunch!

Fernando: One of my all-time favorite guides
I rarely write reviews, but Fernando was such a fantastic guide that I just had to write a review. He was so friendly and he didn’t even mind answering my zillion questions. He is very knowledgeable and the fact that he is a former teacher showed. He loves his city (Cartagena, Columbia) and if I ever find my way back there I will definitely give him a him a call. Request him for a tour!

Boris was an excellent, protective and all out wonderful person on our tour to Playa Blanca. He made the trip enjoyable!
Boris was an excellent tour guide for us on our trip to Playa Blanca and Baru Island. I asked if we could stop at the Bird Aviary prior to going to the beach and he was more than happy to accommodate us. We had the opportunity to take photos of some beautiful birds and enjoy the calmness of the atmosphere. On our way to playa Blanca, he stopped at a local store so we could purchase drinks and snacks before entering the beach area due to high markups in prices on the beach. He was very thoughtful and explained to us how to handle the vendors on the beach if we didn’t want to purchase anything. As part of the tour, he rented a boat with a driver to take us further down the beach from the locals, so we could enjoy a more private section of the beach. He closely watched our personal items as we swam in the water and enjoyed ourself. Lunch was delicious and ordered from a local vendor on the beach by the tour company. We felt very protected and safe with him being our tour guide. Emel our driver was also excellent and a great driver. My husband and I had a great time conversations with them both on our ride to the beach. Two really great and wonderful people. Thank you for allowing us to have an amazing tour.

Great private beach trip to Baru island
Our beach trip to Baru en Cartagena was a delightful experience, made even more memorable with Boris as our tour guide. Right from the start, Boris ensured convenience by picking us up directly from our hotel. Not only was he cordial, but his fluency in English was also a significant advantage. What genuinely stood out was his deep knowledge of the area's history, adding an educational twist to our leisurely day. The highlight of the trip was the private beach access - a serene escape from the usual crowded spots. Beyond the scenic beauty and relaxation, Boris's presence was invaluable when dealing with local vendors. He assisted in negotiating fair prices for food, massages, and souvenirs, saving us from potential overcharges. It's evident that both Boris and his company prioritize their guests' trust and satisfaction. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Baru in the most authentic way.

      Great experience
Great service to and from the airport. Our drivers were friendly and accommodating. The car was clean and they arrived promptly. Would def recommend. Sure, the taxis may come out a bit cheaper, but this was a lot more convenient.

      City tour experience
Walter is amazing and the tours he provided me and my family were amazing . We had our wedding there and we brought people from the United States that had never been out of the country much less to Colombia. We were pleasantly surprised to the service we received from the transportation from the airport to the city tours of the Castillo to La Popa and the tour of the old city. Wow it was an amazing the tour guide Big Al was a great tour guide he sure knew his stuff and he had a lot of passion in describing the things we were looking at which made the experience fun and educational. The experience with Walter and Guianza express was exceptional through and through they made our family feel safe and we felt safe being with the guides and transporters . Our family members that did not understand Spanish had a great time too because all the guides and tours were in English so there was always someone available to explain everything in English for us. Thank you Walter and the great people that work at Guianza we had a trip of a life time. I recommend anyone to use Guianza express for tours and transportation you won’t be disappointed..

      Cartagena Accessible - Great Experience
Our 3 person team was wonderful. They carried the wheelchair up and down stairs. The guide explained the history behind the stops and described the parts of Cartagena that we drove through. Great stops at La Popa and the Fortress.

Do this tour instead of the ship's tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit of Cartagena with Walter. We appreciated being able to bring our 2-year old son. Walter is great at customer service- he made sure we had a car big enough for our stroller, got us bottled waters, and had us visit some places where we could see the whole city. He even helped to push our stroller at times :). In any casem he is a wonderful human being, knows a lot of people in Cartagena so he was able to show us some very cool places. We feel that we were able to get a more unique experience than if we had gone on the ship's excursion. this private tour was definitely worth it.

      Private tour of Cartagena
We had an excellent 4-hour tour of the city of Cartagena with our guide Cesar and driver Jairo who were both very friendly and knowledgeable. They met us on time at the port in a nice, air-conditioned car and showed us the highlights of the city, including a walking tour in the beautiful Old Town. The best thing is that they could customize the tour on the spot to fit our interests and abilities. We highly recommend Guianza Tours! Cindy and Jon W., from Chelan, Washington USA

      Great day!
Really enjoyed this tour! Guide was informative and everyone enjoyed having him along. Was a great way to see some of the top sites around Cartagena in an air-conditioned van. I would suggest you check out some of the "free" tours in the center also, but this one includes many things that you wouldn't see otherwise. I would recommend this to my own friends visiting the area!

We arrived on Windstar’s Star Pride at 8:00 AM. Booked this tour because of Trip Advisor reviews. Booking said start was 7:45 AM. Emailed them 3 times before we left home to ask what would our start time be. No answer. After our arrival we made our way to cruise terminal and a lady had our name on a board. Was told to wait in the park. We did for over 75 minutes until met with guide. She was average at best. Took us to an emerald shop then the fortress then old town walk. We dropped out and walked around on our own. Would not recommend this company

We had the option of booking tours with the cruise line that we were traveling with, but we were glad we booked with Trip Advisor. The tour was easier to access, i.e. fewer people meant it was easier to organize and we didn't have to wait for bus loads of fellow travelers along the way. The tour guide, Bennie, did an excellent job of keeping us on track, taking us to interesting places and informing us about the area.

We booked a tour (Order # 996670) Cartagena From The Walls on November 27th. We and the others on our tour, had great difficulty in finding the meeting place in the port because our ship provided buses to take us to the park (at the port entrance) and completely passed our pick up point. I would recommend changing your meeting place to the duty free shop. Other than that the tour was great and we enjoyed this wonderful city.

Four of us walked off our cruise ship and were met by staff who took us to our tour bus. Only eight of us were on the tour. Our tour guide Al was very informed and sensitive to our interests. We enjoyed his information and all the sights we saw. The only negative was that the tour description said we would be on the air-conditioned bus with no walking. On couple on the bus was not able to walk so waited a half hour or so for the rest of us to walk around. It was very hot and humid so we would have been happy to avoid the walking and to stay with the couple.

Our ship was only in port for six hours, so we selected this tour for our time there. Benny was an amazing tour guide -- friendly, helpful, informative, and easy to understand. He was assisted by a lovely lady Neta (?spelling?) and she was also very helpful. He explained some of the history as we drove to the huge fort and had time to take pictures. He was also able to advise us of any street people to be wary of, which was very welcome information to me. We stopped next at a local shop for a little shopping before reboarding our bus to view more of the old city. We happened to be there just as one of the churches were completing their First Communion services with many children dressed in beautiful white clothing. We also walked to a lovely park and were able to get pictures of the lovely historic buildings. The surroundings were clean and although there were quite a few people, everyone was polite and friendly. Our group next visited the Emerald Museum and learned about mining in Columbia for these beautiful stones. Of course, there was an opportunity at the end of the tour to purchase! After leaving the store, we continued on foot for a couple of blocks to see the interior of a beautiful old Catholic church -- Santuario de San Pedro Claver. I was delighted that we would be allowed to take pictures inside as it is still used for services.

After leaving the church, we continued walking a bit while inside the old city wall while seeing the old style buildings. Once we left the old city, we were in a small shopping area where coffee and other items could be purchased before getting back on the bus. We continued driving through the modern section of the city as well as through a couple of neighborhoods -- one which was where the governor lived.

Benny, Neta and our driver got us back to the dock in plenty of time to get back to the ship without rushing. It was a quick, but very interesting day! Be sure and ask for Benny when you go!

The transportation and guide were great. However, stop here and then walk there, and most times you end in a Emerald shop. Where they let you "kill time or look around".
A lot of walking, and when our ship was there, so were two other. the tourist spots were traveled by many people and most at the same time. And another Emerald shop.
the 4 hour tour could be done in two hours, but , then again, what else can you do ??

Hello Mr. Edward. Thanks a lot for your review. We are glad that you liked the tour Guide and Transportation. However remember the streets in the old city are very narrow and buses Don´t have access to some streets because are restricted by the police, so it is necessary to do some walking. We operated out tours in small groups to give you the best expierence but we can don´t have control about other companies visiting the same touristic places. Thanks for trusting in our company. Very best.

We had a very extensive tour of the historic areas of Cartagena with Eduardo. The tour made me want to return to the city for a longer visit. My only negative was that we had very little time to shop. There were many stores in the historic area that had unique items, but we didn't have time to browse. This was caused, in part, by the cruise line's abbreviated schedule. Our tour began at 7:45 am, because we had to return to the ship by 12:30 pm.

The actual tour was fine. However, the start was terrible. Our cruise ship docked at 8 am. It turned out another ship docked at 8:30 and another at about 9 am. Our tour was scheduled to start when we got off our ship, about 8:15. We were met and saw our names on their list. We were about the first people off our boat, so we were very surprised when they told us our tour had already left at 7:45 (!!), which seemed impossible since we were the first off the first boat, which had docked at 8. They told us to walk a quarter of a mile down to a park where we could wait in 95 degree heat. There was a gift shop and Zoo. But they That's super fly fly. We waited for 45 minutes, didn't see any new arrivals. We walked the quarter of a mile back to ask them what was going on. They said they were just waiting for more people off our boat. I asked specifically if they were waiting for people from the later cruise ships and they said no. That was a lie. Eventually we had waited about two hours, when people from all the other cruise ships arrived. And we went on the tour. I think this was deceptive practice, where they wanted to collect all the people from all the ships for a single tour, but didn't want to tell us that we had to wait 2 hours. We could have spent time doing something else for those two hours, instead of just sitting around.

This shore excursion tour was as advertised with a good guide, Nico. Expect lots of walking to get the most out of this tour. Although the pace was fast, we saw and experienced quite a bit in this very diverse city. The views from the Monastery were spectacular. The Emerald Museum was very interesting - and, of course, there was an opportunity to purchase something at the end, but there was no pressure as is sometimes found in these kind of stops.
