Itinerary
- 1The Eco Park Cerro del Santísimo is a popular attraction among the people living in Bucaramanga and therefore it is a must-see for travelers. The statue itself not considering the platform is just 3 meters (10 feet) smaller than the famous statue Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) in Rio de Janeiro. The special thing about Santísimo is that it is not overcrowded with tourists and that there even is an elevator right behind the statue different to the statue in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, the park offers a magnificent view of the whole metropolitan area of Bucaramanga and is the best place to enjoy a beautiful sunset. In the park you can also find a place where regional wine is sold that is made from oranges, blackberries or grapes; and different stores, especially souvenir stores and cafés. After the sunset there is a beautiful water show with colors, lights and music. To reach the park you have to take a cable car that takes you 500 meters up the hill and during the ride you will have an incredible view on the tropical rainforest.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dlscps0 contributionsGreat Discovery of the Santander Region with Wolf ToursWe engaged Wolf Tours to coordinate a 4 day, 3 night exploration of the Santander region. They planned an excellent experience for us including city touring in Bucaramanga, paragliding, coffee plantation tour,Juan Curi waterfall, Chicamocha canyon, old town in Giron, outdoor market, caves near Paramo and the beautiful town of Baricharra. Wow, now that I summarize this, I realize that we did a lot! Given the mountains and the road network, it takes time to get from place to place but we enjoyed every aspect of our trip. We coordinated the itinerary with Sebastian and Hugo was our English-speaking guide. Hugo was with us the entire time and we adjusted the itinerary based on our desires and changing conditions (like a truckers' strike which resulted in a blocked road). Despite the strike, Hugo got us back to Bucaramanga via a dirt back road through some nice towns (such as Galan) that are only reachable by these back roads. It was an adventure which allowed us to see more and still make our flight. I highly recommend working with Wolf Tours. The Santander region is a part of Colombia that is not frequented by international tourists but it really offers access to nature and time away from the largest cities. They call Bucaramanga a small town but it's 1 million people!Written September 15, 2024
- Luis G0 contributionsCharming town in SantanderCharming Town with points of interest interest, restaurants, museums. One day or an overnight stay gives you plenty of time. Good transportation from Socorro and BucaramangaWritten August 4, 2024
- Tom G0 contributionsCreative, Flexible Guide Maneuvered Around Weather, Unexpected park closureSo what do you do if you want to see Chicamocha Park and Canyon but the park is unexpectedly CLOSED and it's RAINING in the mountains? Well hopefully you have the resourceful Hugo as your resourceful guide and driver. We were grateful to see the canyon from a number of viewpoints before fog overtook it, and while we were disappointed to not get to ride the cable car, that was the park authority's sound. Hugo treated us to a short hike departing from the deceptively quiet (it's packed on weekends mountain village of Los Santos, where we also enjoyed a fine espresso and some fresh-fried empanadas in what would have been the shadow (no sun today) of the oversized church, now under revocation, that looms over the central plaza. Later we walked through the magnificent tropical gardens park in Bucaramanga. Hugo, who dearly loves his hometown city, had two more visit tricks up his sleeve to make up for our weather-dampened day, but we were tired and in need of a nap. Who knows what he might have shared with you? Wolf Tours will work with you!Written July 30, 2024

- dgr80 contributionsProaves Reinita Cielo AzulWolf tours arranged a visit for me to Proaves Reinita Cielo Azul Bird Reserve, which was about 4 hrs from Bucaramanga. My driver, Hugo, took me and arranged all of the transfers, including a much needed Hilux to get up the last bit!!! The reserve is absolutely stunning and the bird guide Carlos is extremely knowledgeable and knows all the birds by song (he uses Merlin to bypass language barriers). Accommodation was simple but clean and well maintained. But the bird density and variety was off the charts. I'd go back in a heartbeat. The whole trip was a pleasure.Written November 15, 2023
- Ted E0 contributionsHighly recommend Wolf Tours, especially our guide CarlosIn February/March 2020 our family group of four spent 8 days in Colombia, 3 in Bogota and 5 in the Department of Santander. Wolf Tours handled all of the arrangements and tours in Santander, and they did a superb job. Just before we arrived, an avalanche blocked the main road from Bucaramanga to San Gil. Dominic saved the day by adjusting our schedule. Among our activities were visits to Giron, Santisimo, Chicamocha Canyon, a cacao finca, a pineapple planation, Lago Topocoro and Rio Sogamoso, and Paramo Santurban (highlight of trip for me, unique ecosystem at 12,000 feet above sea level.) Our guide Carlos was exceptional-- well informed, helpful, patient. Perfectly fluent in English, he also helped us practice our Spanish. By the end of our trip, he became a member of the family, and with our highly professional driver Hector, we formed a real team. Our group gives Wolf Tours and guide Carlos our highest and most enthusiastic recommendation. We are already planning a trip to Barichara, Socorro, and the Department of Boyaca with Carlos.Written March 10, 2020

- This_is_I_again0 contributionsThe joys certainly outweight the pains!I spoke with Dominic who was very understanding & worked well passed 11:30pm to ensure everything was prepared for us. In the morning, we were picked up by Carlos, our tour guide. His passion & love for his country resonnates with all the information & knowledge he has for his young age. All staff were very personable & courteous. Would recommend to everyone. I will be booking with them again upon my return..Written February 6, 2020
- Glittry M0 contributionsGreat private tours in SantanderWe had a great experience with Wolf tours. It is very easy to contact them and they were quick to respond. We were a family of 7 of which 3 are living and Colombia and 4 in Sweden, different ages, different interests and different languages. We were looking for a flexible and private tour but not overpriced and that was exactly what we got. We got to see beautiful mountains, El parque de Chicamocha, Barichara, El santisimo en Floridablanca, San Gil and El Socorro. Carlos was very helpful, patient and was always on time. Thanks for a beautiful trip and best of luck.Written January 20, 2020

- Mickey E0 contributionsAmazing experience!First time visiting Colombia with my girlfriend. After visiting Bucaramanga to see her family, we were told to visit this paragliding tour. Must say I was sceptical at first, however, the wolf Tours team made us feel very welcoming and didn't rush us before we were about to start our Paragliding session. Would recommend this to everyone who is visiting Bucaramanga Colombia!Written October 11, 2019
- sandy_61_zzz0 contributionsTwo Day Tour, San Gil, Socorro and BaricharaThis tour is very flexible and has a knowledgeable guide. The meals and accommodation were excellent. My tour was very relaxed and Sebastian was more than happy to talk to me about life in Santander, customs, traditions etc and patiently help with my Spanish. I have to give a shout-out to my guide Sebastian. I broke my fone during the tour and he went out of his way to organise same day repairs, and waited till they were completed before returning me to my hotel well after normal hours. Service above and beyond. I would recommend this company, and this tour to anyone. My mistake was only going for two days.Written September 13, 2019
- BMCinCTG0 contributionsCustomized trip - perfectly executedWolf Tours came recommended to us and after our 7 days/6 nights in Bucaramanga and Santander, we can not speak highly enough of Dominic and his team! From the first contact to the follow up after our trip and everything in between, we were very pleased and our expectations were exceeded at all times. We booked a variety of activities and were on the go every day. Sebastián was with us every step of the way and took over our camera and assured we had the best time in his home state of Santander. The flexibility, customization, attention to detail and price/value of Wolf Tours are impressive and we will not only keep on recommending their services to 100%, but book again for our next trip to Bucaramanga and surrounding areas. Thank you. Gracias. Danke. For a wonderful time!Written September 9, 2019

The Wolf tour of Bucaramanga was very enjoyable and informative. The Wolf Tour team included Sebastian, Julian and Tatiana. Each team member devoted their full attention to educating me in the diverse history of Bucaramanga and Colombia, as well as responding to my many questions. Their advice was very detailed and delivered respectfully. The team communicated well in English and schooled me in some key Spanish words and phrases. I was introduced to the best hot coffee and authentic foods and culture in Bucaramanga. The team took me to many sites in central Bucaramanga, Giron and the infamous male statue on the top of the mountain. I highly recommend Wolf Tours to tourists that are seeking an informative tour of Bucaramanga that is personable and highly informative and respectful. Brilliant Team members!
