I have done several tours with Aline--cooking class in her home (highly recommend!), Huanglongxi Ancient Town, Jinli Alley, Woohoo Temple, Panda Reserve, Mt Qingcheng, Antiques Market and more... Aline is very personable, really fun, and knows the entire Chengdu,Sichuan area very well. She is a registered guide with the Chinese government, and also helps facilitate Chinese transactions for English speaking businessmen. Aline's English is so good that in describing Mt Qingcheng to me she started discussing tectonic plates and mountain formation--all in excellent English. You will learn more about the area then you ever would on your own or from the lousy few pages in The Lonely Planet or Fromer's guide that cover the whole Sichaun region. The cars/vans and drivers she uses are excellent. I travel a lot but was a bit intimidated by going out on by own in the a country where I can't even read the writing---Aline has taught me how to use buses, trains, and taxis, and has also coached me on basic etiquette, traditions, bargaining at markets, and ordering food. China is a magestic country--and the high Sichaun plateau with its Taoist Temples, gorgeous mountains, and temperate weather is a wonderful place to visit. Please do yourself a favor and hire Aline--she is a sure way to get the most enjoyment out of your trip to Chengdu! Aline is awesome!

My wife and I just completed a 3 day tour of Chengdu and surrounding areas with Aline. My wife is a huge panda fan and we came to Chengdu specifically for her to take photos with and hold a panda. I didn't want to leave anything to chance, so I looked for a guide to make sure nothing went wrong. I'm very glad I did! It turned out that the Chengdu Panda Base was undergoing renovations and the panda holding was not available this month. Luckily, Aline found this out before we arrived and instead suggested we go to the Dujiangyan panda base which was amazing and my wife got to hold a panda! After the panda visit, she took us to the Dujiangyan irrigation project which was also incredible. She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. She also arranged for many activities in Chengdu including a Sichuan opera, shopping, visit to the people's park, and also a tour of the local markets and a cooking lesson. This was an amazing trip and I would enthusiastically recommend Aline as your guide.

We spent not one, but two days with Aline in Chengdu, learning about Sichuan cooking. We had originally booked the first day only, but wound up having so much fun that we scheduled another day later in our trip.
Aline was a fantastic guide, helping me with logistics and questions before we even arrived in China. She was a lot of fun once we got there, and not only taught us delicious recipes and cooking techniques, but also taught us a lot of interesting things about the cuisine and culture.
Even on the days we didn't see her she was helpful and always able to answer questions for me about things like getting around the city, and where to find places.
Next time I'm in the area I would look her up in a heartbeat!! I hope we get to meet again and have more fun adventures.
