I booked two days with Nancy and it was by far the best way to see Datong. Datong is a hidden gem, with almost no western tourists. But in July / August, there are thousands of Chinese tourists. The key attractions are the Hanging Monastery and the Grottos. The Hanging Monastery is definitely a bucket list destination. Nancy was great we chatted easily all day about everything and anything. Without her the detail and context of the Monastery would have been lost. The next day, I left the itinerary completely up to her. We went 45 minutes out of town to see the forgotten sections of the Great Wall - an earth mound in a corn field. We then dropped in completely unannounced on a couple living in a cave house in the village. They were so welcoming an gave us fresh vegetables from their garden. Later we visited an abandoned military village. The amazing thing here was the tiles on the wall depicting the one child policy and the consequences of more than one. Nancy is a terrific guide and a wealth of information. I thoroughly enjoyed my two days with her, learning so much about Datong and China in general.

We only have good words for Nancy and her drivers. They were very professional, pick us up at the exact time, good driving experience (not always is like this in China) and even, she solves a big problem we had with the cancellation of a train, and in few hours, se gave us an alternative with a good driver. So.... TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!!

Best experience ever; we booked several transfers and ticket purchases for attractions and spectacles with Nancy in different cities (Beijing, Datong, Xi’an, Chengdu) and the experience couldn’t be better. She pays attention to details and she goes the extra mile by giving extra advise and tips; apart from giving amazing support. Did a day tour with one of the guids of Nancy, her name was Sara. Everything was organized very well. Sara knew a lot and was very happy to share all her knowledge of waht we visited. First we went to the Yungang Grottoes. After this we went to see the Hanging temples. We had some time left, so she wanted to show us another location. But we were tired and wanted to have a rest. But to offer this to us was very nice.

Our driver 小郭 was fantastic! Despite being just a self-guided tour, our driver was very knowledgeable and shared history of the sights and attractions with us as well. Highly recommend this tour. Also thanks to Nancy for all the arrangement and coordination and for making our whole trip so seamless!

Nancy is a great guide, professional and friendly. She speaks fluent English, we learned lots of things about the places we visited and about the local culture that we would have missed if it wasn’t for her. Both the Hanging Temple and the Grottoes are truly worth visiting, pictures don’t really reflect how beautiful or magnificent they are. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant (not the typical overpriced restaurant for tourists). We had a great time!! We recommend it 100% 😊

Wonderful guided tour of Datong main attractions, both of which were spectacular and unique to see and learn about. Nancy was very friendly, spoke good English and was very thoughtful to tailor the trip to our needs. The car was also very nice and spacious. Definitely recommend!

We engaged Nancy for a private tour prior to travelling to China. Nancy was fantastic to deal with, she went above and beyond what we initially engaged her for. For example she assisted us with our travelling plans when we had issues with our train.She organised and paid (in the interim) for ticket changes and helped us with language translations. She picks you up at whatever time your arrive by train or plane. She helps you to book an hotel for hours to rest between trains. She go with you on a van sharing with maximum 9 pax and at the best times to avoid queues. Also bring the group to a cheap typical restaurant. Safer than try to find a taxi and with fluent english

We got a warm welcome at the airport. The tour to the hanging temple and the Yungang Grottoes was on a very comfortable transport organized. Nancy has the knowledge to answer the questions you might have about Datong and its surroundings. She is a very nice person always helpful.
