- kimikos20210 contributionsThe most confusing/frustrating tour you will ever take, but the penguins are 100% awesomeThis was the strangest and most confusing/frustrating tour we have ever taken (and we've taken plenty of tours through Viator and TripAdvisor) except for seeing the penguins. The penguins were amazing and after getting on the boat it was cool. Except there was no ride back to the station as mentioned (but it's fine because it's like a 15 minute walk so the bus to the port was unnecessary anyway.) It was all just confusing and frustrating getting there and no one seemed to know anything--not even the bus driver. Read on for explanation: So first off, we didn't receive any information regarding the pick up situation other than the place and time to meet. We didn't know what kind of vehicle/bus we would be taking to the port to see the penguins, names of tour guides, what the bus looked like, nothing. And even after finally calling on the day of, it didn't seem like the person on the other end of the phone did either, which was concerning. We just knew to be at this bus station where there are several buses that run, but we figured that the bus would be obvious when it appeared at the agreed upon time and place. It wasn't. Two big buses did arrive, but it was from the generic bus company (almost seemed like a public bus). It didn't seem like a bus for the tour, so we almost didn't go on it. There was also no one from the tour company to announce that people with Tangol Tours should take this bus to get there. The bus drivers didn't even know the name(s) of the tour company. They just said if you're going to see penguins with any company get on this bus... It was chaos and everyone was confused, but got on the bus and hoped for the best. The bus ride was literally just for a few blocks. We literally could have walked and gotten to the port in maybe 15 minutes, so the bus was an unnecessary mess. Once we arrived there were tour guides that seemed flustered and confused. But we were all ushered to get on the boats to the island (Regardless of company). Again very confusing. It seems like maybe Tangol is a third party for the boat company that takes you to the island? Not sure, but it seems very pointless. Essentially, you just need a ticket to get on the boat and there you will find the tour guides that talks about the penguins and takes you to see them. Up until then it's just chaos and confusion. BUT! We did see penguins and they were spectacular and you get to see the babies pretty close (of course no touching them). So 5 stars for penguins 2 or maybe even 1 star for this tour company, and 3 or 4 stars for the tour guide on the boat. If you read all of this, I congratulate you haha.Written February 7, 2024
- MaySpecial0 contributionsPunta mydryn stop overThis shore excursion tour was just a few hours. The guide spent most of the time visiting the museum explaining about the history of the place. A stop to see the scenic view of the town that over looks the Magellan straits, Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean meets. This is town to start seeing Patagonia of Chile. Many stop here for this purposes.Written February 28, 2023
