About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- TravelDispatch0 contributionsGreat cruise and experience! We took the glacier cruise on our final day in Torres del Paine along our 10-day trip through Chile. New Year’s Day at 9 AM there was a line that stretched across the entrance of the hotel for those people who were checking in to the glacier tour. After check-in, we drove about 10 minutes down to the parking lot by the market and then strolled along the wooded path across the rocky shore and pebbled beach to the boat. Once on board, it was about a 40 minute cruise out into the lake. We were served a Pisco sour or Calafate Pisco sour before dropping about a half a dozen hikers off at the camp and picked up about a half a dozen campers. We then continued our way towards the two main arms, the second of which had 3 tongues. Overall it was a fantastic and very well run tour, even though there’s not much in regards to narration, but the staff was very friendly and even helped to take pictures with glacial ice fresh out of the lagoon.Written January 12, 2025
- ina g0 contributionsOpportunity to see the glaciers of PatagoniaIt is a beautiful boat ride if you haven t yet admired the majestic glaciers of Patagonia. The walk to the boat is longer than expectedWritten December 28, 2024
- last0nimne0 contributionsInsensitive or inept tour operatorsWe were on the 9:00 tour. After a 30 minute hike from the departure point we stood in line in freezing weather at the unattended catamaran for a full hour before anyone met us. After boarding they used the most despicable excuse possible-“it’s not our fault”. They said sorry, let’s go. I have ridden in NYC taxi seats more comfortable than the worn out seats on Grey III. They had a chalkboard onboard advertising coffee, beer and liquor for sale, but had no coffee. Grey Glacier is the most impressive glacier in South Patagonia and this is the only company offering a tour. The glacier, and we, deserve better.Written November 24, 2024
- MartaC1350 contributionsImpressive but difficult. The Grey Glacier boat excursion on Grey III was fun because of the people we met, but not my favorite boat excursion to see glaciers. The walk to the boat was long and difficult on a very rocky beach. If you have any question about walking on difficult terrain for a little more than 1 mile, I cannot recommend this excursion. The boat was comfortable. While the glacier is impressive, if you are going to see the San Rafael glacier, or Perito Moreno in Argentina, I would not spend time on this tour.Written April 17, 2024
- LindaH70710 contributionsExcellent boat trip to view the glacierVery enjoyable excursion. Initially all crammed inside during the welcome/ information talk it was very loud with about 100 people all talking. Once we were allowed to go outside it seemed much more relaxing. I enjoyed my pisco sour with glacier ice. Amazing to get so close to a glacier. Had about a 15 minute walk along the same to reach the boatWritten March 5, 2024
- DoraexploraUK0 contributionsStunning views of the glacierBeautiful boat trip with incredible views. We got very close up to the glacier and lots of opportunities for photos. Fun and friendly staff giving useful information about the glacier and the region. We had a perfect clear day, I will remember it forever. Definitely recommendWritten September 9, 2023
- Kadabafamily0 contributionsChallenging trek.We took a bus to the park entry of Torres del Paine. There is a hotel in the park, with a camping ground, and horse riding options. From this point it is a 23 kms trek up hill. There is inadequate safety along an extremely windy stretch to reach a midpoint about 9 kms away. We did not go up after this point, but returned back. Only for the very fit and agile.Written February 28, 2023
- Lin T0 contributionsBest Glacier Views in PatagoniaThis was the best glacier experience we found in Patagonia (we did a total of 3 cruises). The boat was comfortable and they spent a great deal of time close to the glacier... in three different faces. The staff was very friendly. I chunk of the glacier was pulled up onto the boat and drinks were served iced by chunks of the glacier...so fun! Getting to and from the boat can be a challenge due to the high winds and longish walk from the parking lot. From what I heard, the drought in Chile has affected the place where the boat can dock, making the long walk necessary. Hopefully they will get more rain, refill the lake and shorten the walk.Written February 4, 2023
- Laura K0 contributionsA beautiful sightThe glacier is amazing and Hotel Lago grey is worth seeing as the starting point. The amount of time for the tour is also perfect and the staff are very jolly and helpful. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Torres Del Paine and the area. Our trip was delayed by and hour due to a late start by the group before us which was a bit annoying. The other thing to note is that you do need to walk to the boat, perhaps a kilometer; and it across a rocky, soft beach like area with howling winds. There were older people that were unable to manage this walk in the conditions and were unable to reach the boat. Someone with limited abilities would have difficulty and I did not see accommodation for it. The path also was not well marked. You are just set checked in and then sent off in your own to get to the boat with little direction. A worthwhile trip, just some things to be aware of before booking.Written December 24, 2022
- Harry P0 contributionsGrey Glacier boat tourA bit of a walk to get to the Grey III catamaran, but well worth the trip. Lots of opportunities to take pictures and take in the views as the boat slows down to see the 3 different faces of the glacier. As a part of a Torres del Paine National Park visit with extensive hiking, this excursion is a nice way to slow down the pace for a few hours. Hotel Lago Grey is the starting point and offers an enjoyable view of the lake and glacier from a distance while enjoying a meal or snack. The glacier is claimed to be receding rather significantly (I'm ambivalent about the statistic of it declining 8% each year).Written November 14, 2022
- altheachan0 contributionsHard for junior-level hiker but it's worthy to finish! As a junior hiker, I thought it was quite hard to hike around 11 km to 20 km each day within the scheduled time. However, under the good weather condition, I was able to finish the whole itinerary, and I thought it was worthy to do so without any regret! The scenery along the route is very unique and awesome, it is worthwhile to try hard to finish it! The weather can be very different even in one day: sunshine in the morning, wind and cloud in the afternoon and rain at night, so it is very important to wear in layers. Also, a pair of waterproof and comfortable hiking shoes or boots is a must for this hiking tour.Written February 9, 2020

Besten Dank,Marc
