It was a perfect day!Written January 7, 2025

- LibbyTilley0 contributionsAn incredible way to see the Cambodian countryside outside of Siem ReapMy sister, niece & I had a wonderful time on the Siem Reap Vespa Adventures Tour. It was interesting to get out into the countryside, see things the "local" way, visiting a Buddhist temple, and experiencing the market life. The lunch we had at a local home was simply amazing, and I say this as a true foodie! My driver was Tut, who spoke excellent English, and the entire team of guides were very professional. We all felt very safe and looked after, always leading with the "safety first" motto in wearing helmets. I highly recommend this tour! Libby (Fort Worth, TX)Written June 4, 2024

- Ros P0 contributionsAfter dark food tour on a Vespa!A fun evening on the back of a Vespa and tasting some ‘interesting’ local delicacies! A little rice wine tasting at our first stop of the evening got us in the mood and bolstered our courage to try something very new to us! Eating a variety of BBQ items off a lotus leaf in the market with a local Cambodian beer in hand was most enjoyable! After the excitement of our appetisers in the market, we visited a local restaurant for some tasty local food. Our final stop at a lovely hidden bar off the main tourist area was a great way to round off a fun evening. Our guide Sothik was excellent and ensured we had a fun time and provided excellent insight into local life. We felt safe and comfortable with our two Vespa drivers. All in all, a really fun evening! Be prepared to maybe step outside your culinary comfort zone if this is new to you as it was to us!Written February 5, 2024

Thanks to the magnificent work of the guide Sikit and the drivers Ronnie and Hong (my apologies if it is poorly written) it has been perfect in every way. While one many times hears of "buggie" adventures when speaking of South East Asia, it must truly be experienced to fully appreciate it~! The tour guides were exemplary, and one of my bigger fears of falling Off the back of a Vespa were immediately put to rest. I am a larger person (2 meters/6'6" tall, and about 112 kg/250#), but never once felt like I could fall.
The actual tastings ranged from liquor to food to the aforementioned bugs/insects. It was a glorious evening, and we felt very immersed in the culture of the city. Our guide was intimately knowledgeable of the various aspects of the events, and it should be mentioned that he was very fluent in English.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing a more "inside" view of the city and the culture, rather than seeing the tour from inside a tour bus. We were also provided with professional pictures that the Adventures Cambodia personnel took, which directly added to the wonderful memories.

Outstanding private food tour in Siem Reap graciously hosted by Akim, successful entrepreneur and dedicated community leader. We enjoyed this authentic experience by a masterful storyteller who humbly shares her life story to demonstrate the ways of life in Cambodia. Starting with flavored rice liquors tasting followed by a local food market visit where everything was well explained and well explored, as she walks among her friends. The actual dinner afterwards was outstanding. As we did the liquor and market tasting, Akim understood our food preference and ordered a delicious dinner perfectly suited to our tastes. The drink to end the evening and visit to the Pub district, even taking us for a quick stop to purchase a bamboo beach bag was most appreciated. The crowning touch was some fresh fruit, complete with salt and chili for dipping, for our plane ride to Krabi was her parting gift. This woman has built several businesses and her ability to host people and pay attention to all details was delightful. The private aspect of our tour, having 1:1 time with Akim, made the experience a cherished memory. Highly recommend this unique experience as she was articulate, candid, humble, knowledgeable and provided very interesting perspective on the food and culture of her country. She has built her life in Siem Reap and chooses to remain, to give back to the tourism industry, her community and her country. They are lucky to have her!

An absolute highlight! Far from the tourist trails, the guide introduces Khmer cuisine in a very sympathetic and authentic way. Very professionally organized with great, well-kept Vespas. We had a wonderful time and delicious food.

I have a love of Vespas and to be on the back of one on the streets of Siem Reap was everything I had wished for. Our guide, I think her name was Kim, and drivers were right on time picking us up at our hotel. On the way to our first stop my husband noticed a bright red sun setting. On mentioning to our guide we made a detour so that we could take photos. Then we continued onto our first stop, tasting Sombai liquers. Next stop was the night markets where we chose different meats and fish to be bbq'd. Whilst that was cooking we moved on to another stall that had cooked crickets, frogs, beetles and silk worms. We tried most of them and found them quite tasty. We then chose some fruit and Cambodian dessert to accompany the bbq'd food. All washed down with a local beer. We travelled on main roads and back roads and at all times felt safe with our drivers. We drove by Pub Street and stopped at a nearby bar for a cocktail, then finished with a gelato. We enjoyed our conversations with Kim who shared so much about her life in Cambodia. We would highly recommend this tour to see what Siem Reap has to offer in the nighttime and to have the thrill of being on the back of a Vespa.

Sothik our guid, and his Vespa drivers were brilliant. My wife had never been on a scooter and felt totally safe.
We were there to experience some authentic food and that is what we got - firstly a couple of dishes at a local restaurant and then to the night market for various insects and amphibians
Sothik gave us a great insight to Cambodian culture and society
I would throughly recommend it

My brother in law and I took our two 32 year old sons to Vietnam and Cambodia, Nov. 30 - December 14th.
Our final big day was in Siem Reap, and these guys picked us up in two open military jeeps, and took us to four activities, over the next several hours.
We started with a locally made wine tasting of all kinds of exotic wines, made with locally available fruit, herbs, peppers, etc. They also make various condiments that you'll sample. We bought some of the products to bring back to Florida.
Then, we went on a wild shopping and eating tour of a big street food bazaar. Ate pork stuffed frogs, fried baby frogs, silkworms, crickets, water, beetles, chicken, and we bought some "balout" (partially developed ducks in cooked eggs; Cambodians have their own word for them), which we chowed down on, at the fair.
Next stop was an exclusive five dish dinner at a restaurant, with a male/female singing team taking turns.
Finally, we ended up at Pub Street, where we capped off the night with a taste of contemporary nightlife, amd a few drinks.
Five stars, all day long. One of the highlights of our trip, as we had yet to find such wild traditional food.
Just do it!

Hadn’t been on the back of a Vespa for over 50 years so we were slightly hesitant at making this commitment. However this is a very professionally run operation and we instantly felt secure to take on the traffic of Siem Reap. Our male and female driver both showed how skilful they are in negotiating the vibrant night traffic. On to the foody bit which was both sophisticated and rustic and having the ability to sample any food you came across in the street market took us completely out of what would have been our comfort zone if we hadn’t been accompanied by an excellent guide. Evening capped off with a rice wine liquor tasting and engaging chat with the owners.

We really enjoyed our after dark food tour in Siem Reap - Sothik was the perfect host and our drivers were excellent. Our favourite part was visiting the food market, I've never eaten insects before so it was quite the experience. The photos we received after were fabulous, a great memory. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is that we didn't enjoy eating in the restaurant, the music was much too loud and the food was mediocre - we thought we'd be tempted with dishes we'd never heard of or tried before.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our after-dark food tour! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the food market, Sothik’s hosting, and the fabulous photos.
We’re sorry the restaurant didn’t fully meet your expectations. The higher-than-usual music level was due to the festive period, and we chose this venue for its authentic Khmer dishes and ambiance, offering a local experience away from tourist crowds.
Your feedback is invaluable, and we’ll use it to keep improving. We hope to welcome you again for an even better experience!
