          My favorite experience in Cambodia
I would give the Siem Reap Countryside Cooking Class 10 stars if I could. It started out with a wonderful visit to a local market where we tasted all kinds of amazing produce and other goodies. Then we headed to the countryside to tour the farm, see the orphanage, and have an incredible cooking class. The food was delicious and we were stuffed to the brim, so they packaged up the leftovers for us! We received the recipes by email and will definitely be making them again at home. And the icing on the cake… the money goes to supporting the orphanage!

My favorite thing we did in Cambodia!!!!!!!!!
My lady and I had the best time learning to cook amok in the orphanage on the countryside. The guide is so nice and the story behind the orphanage and how the cooking class came about is amazing! He took us to see a local food market where we got to try all kinds of great local foods!! Highly recommend. Don’t pay the same price for a cooking class in your hotel — come get some culture and feel good about where your money goes with this cooking class!!

          An excellent experience
I am so glad that I booked this cooking class. Ben is a great teacher, the cooking class and food were wonderful and it supports a great cause. It was a wonderful way to spend and afternoon. First a tour of the market and then preparing and cooking a number of traditional dishes in an outside kitchen over a wood burning fire. There were only four of us at this class. Ben has sent me the recipes and I look forward to cooking them at home. I highly recommend Ben and Countryside Cooking Class!

Hands-on cooking experience with Mastercook! Kids loved it!
Our family of six decided to take a break from the busy city and journey into the beautiful countryside to take a cooking class. We learned to make three dishes: banana blossom salad, chicken amok, and pumpkin custard. The local chef explained each step that we were preparing. The chef helped all of our kids chop properly with various knives. While the meal was cooking on the fire, we saw a couple rice fields, local animals (played tag with a calf), and an old coconut tree. When the meal was ready, we ate the wonderful foods together. It was good to teach our children & to support this orphanage through the cooking class. Thank you so much, Mastercook Phatlan and Chef Thy!

          Amazing cooking class
We had an amazing experience with Tee. We went to the market and he explained a lot and we were able to try a lot. After that we went to the cooking class and cooked the authentic delicious food. It is no problem to be vegetarian. Tee is such an amazing person. We were able to learn more about food, culture and the daily life of Cambodians. We had an absolutely incredibly afternoon!! Thank you so much

          Super fun for our family.
One of the highlights of our time in Siem Reap. It was fun to cook all of the dishes. Surprisingly it kept the whole family engaged. The food was delicious. Highly recommended. It’s a nice break from walking around temples in the heat.

Good introduction to Cambodian food market and Cambodian cooking
We thoroughly enjoyed our Countryside Cooking Class. Ben picked us up by Tuk Tuk in Siem Reap, and took us out to his village. We headed to the local market. Ben was of great value here, particularly as he is a chef, and was able to talk with both of us about many of the different fruits, vegetables and other foods. While there wasnt any "action" with local children being supported at this place on the day, it is well set up to support kids in need. The cooking class itself (only the 2 of us), was fun, clear to follow, and educational. On the day we produced the banana flower salad, coconut milk custard fulled pumpkin, and chicken amok. We look forward to practicing these dishes in the coming weeks. Ben is a very friendly and approachable person, with good English and communication skills.

          Wonderful Country Cooking Class
We thoroughly enjoyed our Countryside Cooking Class with Ben! He was a great and patient instructor with wonderful cooking knowledge to share. His English was very good. We have been to another cooking class but this was far superior. We did the work with him as he was instructing us which really made it possible to repeat especially with the recipes he sent us afterwards! Prior to the class, he brought us to the market and explained many many ingredients, and about them. He answered many questions about their culture which we really appreciated. The food was very yummy snd quite the meal! Thank you!!!

          Cooking for a cause!
Excellent cooking class set in the countryside! There are many cooking experiences available in Cambodia but you can book this one knowing that it is both an excellent cooking class AND supports a great cause. Booking, pick up and follow up were all prompt and efficient. Our guide was chatty and friendly, taking an interest in the group. Class included a trip to a local market where we were given the chance to look, smell and taste a number of products. Cooking instructions were clear and food was cooked over fire! Very tasty food, can fully recommend this class.

Just amazing! Vegetarian delights to be had.
Please join Ben and the team here, you won't regret it! Of course, the food is sublime. However, I shall mention that in a minute. I would like to start by emphasising the true reason you should do this course - the staff and their cause. Ben went through one hell of a journey in setting this up with his Godfather, a story which you must ask about. Their aim was and is to provide housing and education to orphan children in the local area. The cooking class really is more of a social enterprise and we saw and heard of how much this class changes the lives of local children. Ben was such a delightful man - intelligent, charasmatic, compassionate and a superb English speaker. And, he is an excellent Chef and teacher, of course! Onto the food - as vegetarians, we cooked a banana flower salad in tamarind dressing with tofu and chillies and all fresh tasty stuff you'd expect. We then made a delicious and light tofu Amok (the best I've had in Cambodia), with steamed rice. Finally we had a pumpkin Custard desert, which was more like a custard tart, but with pumpkin instead of pastry. It was really fun to make too! Another highlight was the market tour - we have done four of these in four different cooking classes, but this was certainly the best; authentic, local and very informative. Ben's knowledge of the local cuisine and culture is staggering and there was no question he couldn't answer. Of course, you will get to eat all the food you cook and you will leave with a digital recipe booklet. If you come here, you won't regret it. We left full, happy and emotional after we heard the story behind the school. Enjoy!

Ben was a fantastic source of knowledge regarding the markets and cooking methods. Fresh local produce was great and we loved the fact we were involved in the whole cooking process

Authentic and amazing cooking class with a great cause
Ben’s countryside cooking class is not only an excellent and authentic cooking class - it is also an important social project. After Ben and his driver picked us up at our hotel, we set course for a local market half an hour from Siem Reap. Ben took us around the stalls, explaining what is what, how it’s all used and what it tastes like. We were the only tourists around there and the people were very friendly. Then we arrived at the cooking school, which is also the site of Ben’s social project: he cares for 15 orphans and helps 68 children get proper education. It’s amazing work and it is overly clear how invested Ben is in this. He invited two of the girls to come practise their English with us. They were absolutely charming, and very motivated to learn. We learned to make banana blossom salad, vegetarian (on my request) amok and a dessert with fresh coconut milk and eggs in a pumpkin. Everything was delicious and Ben answered all of our questions. Ben then dropped us off at our hotel, and we talked some more about his project. It’s a touching story. We’re so happy to have been able to contribute a little - and to have learned more about Khmer cuisine and culture. This is an experience we’ll never forget. We definitely recommend it. Thanks again, Ben! Joos and Emma

Super nice cooking class and market visit
We took this cooking class as this place was recommended by a friend of ours. We really liked our experience, from the market visit to the cooking class itself, the teacher was really good to explain everything in details to us! We would recommend anybody to go there, the people there are doing a great job helping kids in need in the area. We did 3 recipes and it was all delicious. They send us the recipes by email after the course. 5⭐️

Got picked up from our hotel and had a short tuk tuk ride into the country side. First walked through a local market and got to try insect delicacies. Then proceeded to the cooking class at a local home with a lovely view of the paddy fields. Tee - our guide / chef was great and we had a lot of fun cooking with him!
