We didn’t have a guide in our bus or on the boat. The guide joined us at the village to walk us round and then put us back in the boat again. I feel we missed out and didn’t really learn anything due to not having a guide. As soon as you get off the boat you get mobbed by people trying to sell you colouring books and pencils to give to the children, you can take your own with you! This is a bit of a tourist trap and they use the children to carry their supplies in a rucksack instead of sending them to school. We were then took to a make shift school which was not the school in the village the children were going to (they had uniforms on and were just finishing for the day) to see the children learning English and again to give them money to carry on their lessons. This review sounds a bit cynical but it is worth knowing before you go. If you can get a trip with a guide I would book with them, the village is definitely worth seeing but a bit more background and history would have been great.

Good half day trip to experience different lifestyle and enjoyable boat ride to the lake to see the sunset. Village life a real eye opener. Guide good and gave interrsting commentary.

Well worth the trip to see the Tonle Sap Lake. The sunset was lovely and it was really interesting to see how the people of the lake live. The tour operator was very professional too. Recommended.

The tour offers you a slice of life that is off the beaten track in and I love how the tour of the floating village and house on stilts makes us better appreciate the efforts of fishermen who put food to our table or at the markets. It’s definitely a good experience to appreciate the wild to table process of where our food comes from.

Was picked up just after 2pm. Bus already full...18 people in total. Getting onto the bus there wasnt really much of a friendly vibe. The floating village itself is amazing so thats definitely a positive. I guess in comparison to a tour company and guide I had the day before..there were obvious differences. Guides professional appearance could be imoroved. There was no information of the agenda given to us before. It was more like all follow the leader. Knowing the plan of the tour beforehand would have been good. This wasn't 4 hours in duration. From time of pickup approx 2pm to drop off approx 8pm just to keep in mind if u have dinner plans. Great afternoon but definitely some improvements could be made.

Visited during mid-March and it was the best climate to go. Definitely recommend going at sunrise, which means a super early trip but was well worth it and best for beating the crowds!
