About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 976mikaelaz0 contributionsGreat blend of information and free timeMy father and I did the two day tour with Bunleat. The tour was very interesting, and the perfect mix of information and free space to explore. Bunleat was able to answer all of our questions, and was not overbearing with information. Having a car with ac and wet towels and water was a life saver in the hot May environment. Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples are truly a most see and I would recommend the tour we did.Written June 8, 2024
- Excursion504240664390 contributionsAnkgor with toddlersAmazing tour overall! Our guide was really knowledgeable and in two days he took us to see 8-9 temples, also taking amazing pictures of us. As we are travelling with 3 and 4 years old children he paid a lot of care and attention to their needs.Written April 3, 2024
- 978beccah0 contributionsExcellent Cambodian TourAn excellent guided tour. Our guide, Mr Bunleat knew the best places to go and offered plenty of information throughout. He was very thoughtful and kind. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend him if you wish to understand the sights and the country.Written April 2, 2024
- Tazmocha0 contributionsExceeded ExpectationsThis tour exceeded expectations in all respects. The guide and driver were stupendous because they were knowledgeable, fun, and very attentive to us. The guide was full of fascinating stories about the temples. Our guide was a great photographer too! Word of advice: Tuk tuk is the best way to explore the temples. It’s slow enough to enjoy the surroundings, yet fast enough to cover lots of ground.Written March 31, 2024
- danlZ5294BR0 contributionsBunleat is the best tour guide in the worldMy partner and I had the most amazing tour by Bunleat and Mr jame (our driver). We really enjoyed getting to know them and highly recommend Bunleat. He taught us so much about Cambodian culture as well as the stories behind all of the amazing temples. It was a pleasure learning of the rich history. If anyone is on the fence about getting a private tour, we highly recommend it. It is so reassuring to know you are in safe hands.Written March 23, 2024
- r2019090 contributions2 day temple tour in Siem ReapGreat two day temple tour. Bunleat was very knowledgable of the history of each of the temples we visited, and great fun. Would certainly recommend Bunleat as a guide if you’re visiting Siem ReapWritten March 20, 2024
- thaon9810 contributionsAmazing!Vanny, our tour guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable, dedicated and personable, he provided us with such an awesome experience of Siem Reap. We loved every moment of it!Written March 19, 2024
- Seaside342093243230 contributionsBest trip everBunleat was amazing! He took care of all the details in advance so everywhere we went it was smooth. Fun to be with and very knowledgeable about the temples. Offered in depth information about the construction and history. We requested to change the schedule slightly and see some local art in addition. Bunleat changed the literary and took us to two fantastic studios and our trip was complete. It would have not been the same or nearly as satisfying without his input. Highly recommend, you will be lucky to have him with you for your tripWritten March 11, 2024
- RR_USA0 contributionsExcellent, knowledgeable and nice guide, with a relaxing pace.Sothan was a wonderful guide; very knowledgeable, well-spoken English and a very nice person that cares about his country and its heritage. What I also liked is his pace of explaining and the amount of information that he gave: I wasn’t flooded with information and he gave me some time to let thoughts sink in which made it a very comfortable experience.Written March 11, 2024
- Cherylramette330 contributionsHighly recommend Happy Angkor Wat TourMy friend and I did the 2 day Happy Angkor Wat Tour with Bunleat Horng and his wonderful driver whose name I am sorry I can't right now remember. Bunleat treated us to many stories of the temples, the history, the carvings, the meaning of the places and moments memorialized that we were experiencing. He was relaxed and yet kept us on schedule which is not always an easy thing to do for a guide. When he realized we weren't 'selfie types' he just pointed out places for a good view and let us explore. Lunches at local restaurants were excellent. Two stops on the second day at artist studios were perfect for us - both artists and natural dye enthusiasts. Each time we returned to the tuk tuk our driver immediately provided cold water and cold lemongrass scented towels to wash our faces, hands, and necks. It was divine! He was an excellent, careful driver and we always felt safe.Written March 9, 2024
- Tazmocha0 contributionsOne of the best tours everWe went with Bunleat the guide for Happy Anghor Wat Tour. Bunleat is the most knowledgeable guide who shares an abundance of detail about the temples. He is polite and has a great sense of humor, as well as being an excellent photographer for us. We enjoyed exciting stories and historical information throughout the tour. Most importantly, Bunleat looked after our comfort and welfare through his attention to our wants and needs. A special shout out to our awesome driver!Written March 8, 2024
- anjading0 contributionsAngkor tour ..old stones will tell you interesting and funny storiesMr. Bunleat was a great experience. His knowledgement in history is excellent and he told us in a funny way so intereresting stories about all the different kings and gods so we have a chance to remember all these things. He knows very good photo-spots and took us always to quiet and not crowded placed and always walked around the temples to give us different views. So we highly recomend the tours with him. He is very friendly, funny and absolutly reliable.Written March 2, 2024
- Zutroy12340 contributionsMr. Horng Bunleat is the real deal! This review for Mr. Horng Bunleat is long overdue! My wife and I had the pleasure of having him as our private tour guide for the two-day Angkor World Heritage (small & big circuit) tours and we had a phenomenal time! He is incredibly funny, honest, detailed, and thorough. The man has no shortage of stories and his knowledge of Cambodian history + Angkor Wat and all the surrounding temples are immense. Despite the huge crowds, Mr. Bunleat knows all the secret spots and paces the tours accordingly to avoid the rush and to make the tour feel as personalized as possible. Even though these tours can be hectic and taxing on the body (who would have guessed visiting Cambodia even in early February is ungodly hot), we were always given appropriate breaks. Our driver Mr. Voreak always ensured we came back to an air conditioned car with ice cold water and wet towels to cool down after hiking in the intense heat. He'll even customize the tour for you given your interests and your stamina in the Cambodian humid heat! If you want the absolute best private tour guide for Angkor Wat + surrounding temples and Cambodian history, look no further! Mr. Horng Bunleat is your guy! You won't be disappointed! Random aside - - the guy is a great photographer and knows all the best spots for photos! He also taught us how to identify the sex of the lion statues!Written February 26, 2024
- michaelvO3351JU0 contributionsFantastic 2 Day TourWe had a fantastic 2 day tour with Bunleat and would highly recommend him to others. He has extensive knowledge of the Angkor Complex (over 15 years if I recall correctly) and speaks fluent English. We were very concerned about hiring a competent guide that would match our enthusiasm for the finer details and we were not disappointed. We have no complaints and can only speak highly of Bunleat and the amazing driver that provided water and cold towels each time we returned to the car.Written February 24, 2024
- Safari1111150 contributionsGreat tour of Angkor WatWe did a 2-day van tour with Happy Angkor Wat Tour (HAT) with Bunleat as our guide. We were very impressed with the tour and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the temples. Bunleat made sure to beat the crowds and we were able to enjoy many temples with few other guests. The great knowledge and stories Bunleat shared and the temples picked out for us to visit was the perfect mix and we have already recommended HAT and Bunleat to several friends. What made it extra special was Bunleat's knowledge of great spots for taking photographs. We have some beautiful family photos of both teenagers, parents and grandparents that we are very grateful for.Written February 14, 2024

Disclaimer: This was my first personal use of a tour guide on a foreign trip. I was asked to write an honest review; this is my best attempt.
We were assigned a driver (Ang Bong) and a tour guide (Vanny Chhoem) for the 3 days that my girlfriend and I wanted to tour the ancient ruins of Cambodia. I wasn't sure what to expect; but, I probably would have predicted something like scripted lines and a pretty rigid schedule.
However, our driver Ang was extremely flexible, accommodating small detours for bathroom breaks or sightseeing as desired. They always opened and closed the car doors for us and had cold towels ready before each leg of the journey.
Our tour guide, Vanny, is extremely knowledgeable not only about the local history, but also about the history of the larger region of Southeast Asia and India and about the more modern political happenings in Cambodia. We toured more than 6 temples over 3 days (having the opportunity to tour more, but deciding to use our time in other ways for our middle day). The company also coordinated a boat tour in a fishing village and arranged for a visit to a local school. The school offers free English classes sponsored by Happy Angkor Wat Tour, another reason to support this company.
I saw artwork, learned words, and experienced history that I will never forget and gained an appreciation for a people that I had never considered, before.
Both our driver and our tour guide were extremely professional, spoke English very well, accommodated our schedule and were able to recommend how best to use our time both during and outside of the tour.
If I have to critique anything then I would advise the future traveller of 2 things.
1) Bring a map or request one. It's difficult to understand where and when everything is related; marking up information on a map is a great way to keep track of everything and we weren't provided with one (but, nor did we ever think to ask).
2) You should expect your tour vehicle to be clean, comfortable, and safe, but don't expect it to be new. We were provided a mid-2000s Lexus SUV, which is characteristic of an upper middle-class Cambodian vehicle; a country whose car market is largely based on restored, foreign used vehicles.

Couldn’t recommend this tour and our guide Borey more highly. He was extremely knowledgable and had a great eye for the temples, bringing us to spots off the beaten path that provided spectacular views of each temple. He was also accommodating and the route provided a nice mix of temples and the surrounding countryside

We spent 3 glorious days traveling with Vanny and his team to the temples of Siem Reap. We started at Bayon and ended with Angkor Wat and a boat ride on the river to see the floating fishing city. Vanny was SOOOOOO amazing, he knew so much history and background information that many times other people from different tour groups would stop to listen to him. I have already referred my friend Talia to your group and told her to request Vanny as her tour guide because he is truly the BEST TOUR GUIDE IN THE WORLD!!!

I went with a group of 20+ people for the three day tour of the temples in Siem Reap. Vanny and his team gave us the experience of a lifetime! Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable about each and every temple we visited, were able to answer an array of questions, and kept our large group of college students entertained for hours on end. I would recommend this tour package to anyone visiting this beautiful city! Thank you Vanny!

We could not say more wonderful things about our time with Vanny and Ang!! Throughout our three day tour they were professional, knowledgeable, kind, and so fun! Vanny’s love for and pride in his country shone through everywhere we went, and we learned so much from him. There were many times when we were among the only people at a given site- he really understood how to navigate the crowds and how to set up the perfect photo op. Every time we returned to the car we were greeted by Ang with a cold towel and bottle of water- much needed in the heat. Thank you so much to this incredible team for an unforgettable experience!!
