This was one of our highlights in Cambodia! The food was really fresh and we learned a lot about Khmer cooking. Sorya is really good at tutoring and balancing all of the dishes everyone is cooking at the same time. The two ladies there helping and tuk tuk driver were also really nice and kept the night running smoothly. The house and garden are really relaxing to cook and eat in. We highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn about Khmer culture and have a relaxing night at the same time.

We had an absolutely fun time at this cooking class, and we did it together as a family with our 2 teenage boys. So if they can cook, so can you!
Our chef and guide Sorya was a gem. She has a radiant smile like a sun and speaks good English that she learnt all by herself.
(A side note to say that a pdf file with the recipe will be provided at the end, so just concentrate on the actual cooking.)
The tour starts at an authentic bustling wet market that is frequented by the locals. I can see some of the fishes on the floor still breathing, nothing gets more real than that. Sorya guided us through the market, stopping at various stalls to explain the produce, She is clear in her explanation and answered all our questions patiently, always with her broad smile on.
We each needed to cook up a 4-course meal comprising of mango salad, main, sides and dessert, sounds ambitious but we did it! Cooking time seems like a battle, with 4 of us each doing a different menu, pounding, cutting, frying, steaming....but the result is gratifying. Of course, Sorya and her team is all around to assist and make sure we are on track and successful.
The open concept cooking section under the traditional stilt house is modern and clean and feels just like the cooking show in YouTube!
Taking a cooking class allows us to fully appreciate and feel hands-on some of the key ingredients that make the Khmer cuisine so special and healthy.
We can't recommend it more that you try it.

We came in a group of 7 and had a great time! The menu is really varied and you get so much for what you pay for.

The chefs are so kind and friendly - they talked us through each step and we got to work at different stations as we made our way through the dishes. For someone who doesn’t cook a lot (or with little variety) this was the perfect level of interaction, learning and cooking!

It was a great atmosphere and the food was delicious - all fresh and locally sourced. I would 100% recommend trying out these classes either independently as a way to meet new people or in a group.

Thank you so much for your welcoming hospitality, your generosity and your delicious food!

We had a great time during the cooking class and learnt a lot about Khmer cuisine! The crew was very efficient and by that we were able to try many different recipes. It was amazing that they even gave us the choice at the beginning which meals we would like to cook from a great diversity of dishes. It was very fun to interact with the crew which created a really nice atmosphere throughout the evening. To finally try and eat your cooked dishes at the end was of course the highlight! We can only recommend this cooking class for anyone who is interested in local dishes!

The process from tuk-tuk pick up to market tour, then the garden tour at the home, and finally selecting our four-course meal options and cooking was very streamlined and smooth. It was great that each person got to choose their own menus to cook. The market was interesting and the home-based garden from which we gathered the ingredients was really neat. My only constructive criticism is I would have liked to spend more time speaking with the local guide while we ate the meal; it felt like we tourists mingled with each other to the exclusion of learning more about local culture over dinner, but still it was a great experience and I imagine the hosts had plenty to do anyway at that point in the evening.

We took part in this cooking course and can only recommend it to anyone who is interested in the typical cuisine of the country. The two women who gave the cooking course were incredibly warm and conjured up very delicious dishes with us. The location with its own garden, from which some of the ingredients for the dishes came, was also very nice. We were able to choose different dishes that we wanted to cook and will take a lot away with us from the cooking course.

An absolute recommendation!

We booked this event the night before and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Our tuk tuk driver picked us up on time. Once we got to the house for our class the team were extremely friendly and gave us cold water and tour of the garden. With one instructor helping three people they gave the right amount of guidance and attention to ensure all our dishes were done properly while keeping their kitchen very clean. They then let us enjoy the food and conversation with our other group members. Being the middle session we then did a quick tour of the local market where the other sessions start with the Market tour. I would definitely recommend this to experience!

We had a fantastic experience at the class. Pick up and drop off we’re highly efficient and there was lots of choice on the menu, including to cater for a pescatarian. The visit to the market was also fascinating. The food we made was delicious and is highly recommend this experience, led by Sorya.

My wife and I had a lot of fun at this cooking school. The local markets provided some unique insights into local herbs and meats.

We also enjoyed seeing the herbs and mushrooms being grown in the garden of the school.

We would recommend this place and felt it was good value for money (3.5hrs and 4 courses of food)

Sorya was our cook and guide for the day and she gave us a wonderful experience. She greeted us brilliantly at our hotel and was incredibly friendly and personable. She then took us to a local Khmer Siem Riep Market and showed us how the real people of Khmer buy their food. It was great to see.

Next, we went to a lovely home to cook. The place was in a nice homely setting and it was extremely clean and tidy. We got a menu to choose what we wanted to cook and Soyra once again was superb at showing us how to cook the dishes. We cooked a starter, main course and dessert. My personal favour was the mango salad starter as the herbs we picked from the garden made this dish so tasty and refreshing. I also loved the chicken dish we made.
Overall, it was a lovely experience made all the better by the genuinely fantastic Soyra and the lovely TukTuk Driver Mr. Hort.
If you want a real taste of Khmer life and to experience the sincerity of its people I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this 3 and half hr experience.
