Itinerary
- 1Pick-up at 7:30am for your 8am tee time at Angkor Golf, an award-winning course designed by European legend, Sir Nick Faldo. Eighteen holes await in the shadow of Angkor’s ancient temples. The swing on the green of the fairways is typically generous but the bunkering style is impressively bold and the greens have plenty of subtle undulations rewarding and encouraging a variety of approach shots. After the game, you may like to relax and enjoy a complimentary one hour’s foot/body massage, to put your mind and muscles at ease.

- X3139TTjohnp0 contributionsHero Rats Demonstrate How They Save Lives by Finding Live Land MinesRecalling the horrors of the Khamer Rouge and the killing fields, there is hope for removing the millions of remaining land mines across Cambodia. This is a stop that you must not miss, even if the title is off-putting. Here, you see how these intelligent rats from Tanzania in Africa can be trained to identify land mines and save hundreds and hundreds of lives, essential to this day where the threat continues nationwide. The rat's trainers demonstrate the training and lifesaving work that these rats and their handlers do. You can support the mission by going and by donating to a US 501c3 if you are as moved as we were.Written March 25, 2025
- ebnwigs0 contributionsAmazing Angkor Wat / Siem ReapThis was the most amazing tour I’ve experienced yet!! MR DALING SENG WAS AWAZING!!!!!👏🏾👏🏾🎆❤️ He was kind, considerate and knowledgeable. Flyer in English and French which made things easier. The hospitality, and service we experienced from stay at the Hyatt Park Siem Reap was second to none. DEFINITE COMING BACK!!! Thank you Cambodia for great memories.Written March 24, 2025

- Toodles4now0 contributionsHighly RecommendWe had seen something about Hero Rats on TV and then learned from the hotel that they actually had a place where you could go see them and learn more. We did many amazing things on this trip and this definitely ranked among our favourite. We had no idea how amazing these rats are or that this breed can be trained to do more than find live landmines. We learned about how they are chosen, trained and cared for. We also got to see a demonstration of how they work the fields before getting to hold one. They are excessively cute. If you have a negative view of rats, these guys will change your perspective. Highly recommend visiting the HERO Rats. It's an incredible program worth supporting.Written January 24, 2025
- O9253FUallenh0 contributionsIs it really worth it?OK, controversial because it's supposed to be a bucket list experience. Up at 4 am. Tuk tuk ride in the dark followed by a long walk in the dark with every other tourist, most of who will not shut up. You eventually reach your viewing spot and try to find a place to watch from just as the pale light begins to glow behind the temple. After about half an hour you have the full dawn but still no sunshine. I think the odds are that you have maybe 1 in 10 chances at most of an actual sunrise so you have to ask. Is it worth it? I really don't think it was. The dress standard is also an issue. Knees and shoulders must be covered but from what I saw many people just didn't get the memo.Written December 9, 2024
- Tommy5990 contributionsNo thank youWe are on a OAT post trip to Cambodia following 24 days in Vietnam Here they train Giant imported African Rats (known as “HeroRATS) to locate explosives (smell of TNT). They presented us with a demonstration of how a rat identifies the landmine. The rats are trained by mixing in the smell of TNT with the treats they like. Want to hold a 3 pound rat = you can!!!!! NOT for TOM!!!Written October 21, 2024
- shanen8540 contributionsWorthwhile.Very informative. More than enough information to help me understand the significance of this temple region to the Khmer people.Written October 16, 2024
- K7914CHjennyy0 contributions5 day tour all around Siem Reap and the Ankgor Wat area.We had an amazing time in Cambodia with Vannak who was a fantastic tour guide. He showed us amazing places and had great knowledge of everywhere we visited. Our trip included seeing Angkor Wat, loads of different temples including where Tomb Raider was filmed. Vannak shared his experience of growing up in Cambodia and his family now and how they live a beautiful life. We got to see an amazing floating community and saw a traditional morning market, even meeting his mother while working on her stall. This will be a trip we will never forget and will share our tales with our family and friends for years to come. I can not thank Vannok enough for making our trip so memorable. We wish you well in your future as a tour guide and would highly recommend him to others.Written April 9, 2024
- Happytravelllers0 contributionsInterestingAfter speaking someone at our hotel they said it was interesting and worth a visit if we had time. We took at Tuk Tuk and turned up, cost was $10 and lasted about 45 mins. Lots of boards displaying the work they undertake, a session of information then a demonstration with one of the rats. After you can hold them. The tour ends with a short film, we enjoyed our visit and learnt that is bits just Cambodia that use them.Written March 3, 2024
- DotsGirl20 contributions500 steps in heat to a beautiful pagodaThis was a hard climb for us fit plus 60 year olds. There are 500 steps and it was 36 Celsius out. But once you get to the top the Pagoda is beautiful and the views are nice. Like all pagodas be prepared to take off your shoes and hats. Coming down was sure a lot easier then going up. Don’t forget to bring your waterWritten February 7, 2024
- davidthepiratechef0 contributionsAmazing rats and ancient artifactsThe hero rats are amazing. I really enjoyed learning about their activities to save lives. - jasperd5270 contributionsGreat way to learn about the Angkor wat ruins.First of all, the ticket price is at a very normal level, not the 132 USD showing on TripAdvisor for some reason (don't remember the exact price). This is a large museum with tons of information, a good cafe, and I would highly recommend to go before visiting the Angkor wat ruins so you get a better appreciation of their significance. I really liked how so much detail was presented in bite-size pieces that you can either delve into or pass on depending on your interest.Written October 29, 2023
- shane44ON0 contributionsNice half day trip outside PhnomWent there with local friends. Great option for half day tour. Can do it on your own no need to have a formal tour. Can climb 509 steps to top of pagoda and get amazing views. Very popular with local tourists. Lots of street food stalls with a multitude of food and fruit options.Written August 5, 2023
