About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Aiden K0 contributionsGreat temple day!!Excellent tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and made the tour a wonderful day. Highly recommend booking with them.Written July 31, 2024
- Marc C0 contributionsCouldn’t have done it better. There are so many choices when it comes to doing a private tour of Angkor. I made the decision to go with Angkor Doors on pure spec and was very glad I did. Our guide Bunpheng Chan was professional, cheerful, knowledgeable and insightful on the both modern and historical Khmer history and events. We took a half day air conditioned car (4 hour) tour and visited the Wat and Angkor Thom/The Bayon. We were given a choice of the Bayon or Ta Phrom ) Tomb Raider. Provided with cold scented towels, and water frequently.Written May 29, 2024
- tasha3130 contributionsDefinitely worthwhileWhile the museum is simplistic and you can walk around on your own, I definitely enjoyed it. My highlight was having the honor of talking to a veteran who was there. If you see him and he asks for a donation, do yourself a favor and provide it and listen to his story. An incredible man and survivor that will always stay with me.Written April 23, 2024
- steventaylor4550 contributionsAngkor Wat tourSophal was an excellent tour guide. Knowledgeable of the area and very friendly. Fully recommend him as a next guide for the sights of the temples.Written April 8, 2024
- angelamX8416JN0 contributionsAnkor Doors amazing guided tourWe used Ankor doors for a 2 day guided tour and it was fabulous! Pheng's English was good and his knowledge was great. It was very hot and water was provided all day. I don't think you can visit Ankor Wat without a guide to help you navigate the site and the history. Lots of other helpful info from Pheng inc quick stop to the local laundry for us!Written April 7, 2024
- KevinSawyer870 contributionsAmazing tour! Our guide, Kosal, and our TukTuk driver gave us an amazing sunrise tour of the Angkor Wat temples complex for about 8h. They both came to pick us up on time at our hotel at 5am. Kosal’s deep knowledge of the architecture and history of the various temples provided us with all the information needed on the bouddhist and Hindu cultures, giving us a better perspective this mesmerising place. He is also a great photographer and has very useful tips for spots of where to take great photos. We definitely recommend him for everyone interested in tours in the region. Overall a tour to remember for years to come.Written March 20, 2024
- RobertF50080 contributionsThe Perfect complement to the small circuit toursWe had two days in Siem Reap, so we took a small bus tour of the Angkor Wat “small circuit” and enjoyed it. We knew that there was another “grand circuit” of temples, so we decided to do a personal tour of these temples by Angkor Doors. It was only $20 AUS more and we had a personal guide, driver and tuk tuk. A good move! Our guide, Bunpheng, was very knowledgeable. We experienced different temples to the other tour: these were generally the early temple sites of the 10th to 12th century: Phimeanakas, Preah Palilay, Preah Khan, Banteay Prei, Neak Poan, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup and Srah Srang. These temples are spectacular and are an important part of the site’s development… but they do not attract the huge crowds like Angkor Wat or Bayon Temple, so the experience is peaceful and contemplative. Bunpheng is a mine of historical information. We learnt so much about Buddhist and Hindu culture and enjoyed the open air experience of tuk tuk travel. Yes, by all means, do the “small circuit“ tour of the most famous temples. But set aside a day to visit this other circuit. It is the perfect completion of the history of this unique and amazing 350 square kilometre historic site, unlike ANY other place in the world. And Bunpheng is the ideal person to bring it to life.Written March 17, 2024
- Mobile3145250 contributionsTrust me - book your Angkor tour with Bunpheng Chan.Bunpheng Chan is everything you could ever want in a tour guide: super knowledgeable, funny as heck, passionate about the history / significance of what you're seeing... He was also really smart about avoiding crowds in what can be a very crowded place. What's more, he takes great photos! I cannot recommend him strongly enough as your Angkor Wat tour guide. (If it matters to you, his English is SOLID.)Written March 11, 2024
- bb_YOW0 contributionsExcellent GuideThis was a private tour just by accident, but it was awesome. Our guide took us off the beaten path when there was opportunity to. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of his country and his family's experiences. It was a long day full of so much information but we thoroughly enjoyed it.Written February 28, 2024
- B7938PRlaurai0 contributionsThe best 3 days tour with Pal Chen at Siem ReapWe have spent 3 days in Siem Reap. Our guide Mr Pal Chen was very professional, extremely knowledgeable about all the sides and Cambodia in general and planned our 3 days perfectly. He is very caring and a pleasure to talk to. He suggested great restaurants and gave us plenty of good advices. He planned the sites so that we always avoided crowds. He knows how to make great pictures and my 2 sons were very happy to hear all the stories about Cambodia culture and history. I highly recommend Mr. Pal Chen to make your visit to Cambodia the most memorable one!!!Written February 26, 2024
- O1592HEjamiem0 contributionsStreet Food TourWe went on the street food tour with Bunpheng who was a fantastic host and delivered above and beyond our expectations. We went to a local market and tried many different local foods (yes including insects) which is exactly what we were after. We also had a very engaging conversation with our host. It was a fantastic way to spend an evening in Siem Reap.Written February 13, 2024
- Rob F0 contributionsFantastic experienceWhat a great experience. Pheng, our guide, was fantastic. We started with the Angkor sunrise and sunset tour on day one and the Kbal Spean, Bantreay Srei and Beng Melea tour the next. Both were fantastic. At the conclusion of the second day we asked Pheng to set up a tour of the floating village for a couple of days later. We had planned to just venture to the area by TukTuk but after a couple of days with this tour we all agreed to engage their services again. A slight communication error between us meant we headed off to a different place than I expected. I had been to the floating villages a few years before and had expected the same location, not realising that there are 2 different tour options for this. Both great to see but a bit different to experience. Noting my slight disappointment, Pheng arranged on the spot to take us to the other location that I was hoping to show the rest of my touring party. The benefits of being in a private tour with such a knowledgeable and helpful tour guide is something that can’t be overlooked. This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend tour with Angkor Doors if you have the chance.Written January 3, 2024
- Dream522740741140 contributionsAmazing Angkor Wat toursWe toured the temples in Siem Reap and Kulen mountains in the first week of December 2023, and it was a marvelous experience to say the least. The guide Palchen and car driver Dina Sorn have been highly courteous and friendly and gave us an amazing time in those two days. We never felt that we were in a foreign country. Guide Palchen is highly knowledgeable and has excellent understanding of the strong historic and mythological connection between India and Cambodia. We were fortunate to have booked our tour through Angkor Doors and would always recommend them to anyone wishing to tour around Siem Reap. We wish them all the very best.Written December 8, 2023
- fadanothai0 contributionsRecommended!Nice hike up to the waterfall over rocky paths with some flat and a little elevation. The waterfall is really nice to see. Banteay Srei is fantastic, with very nice carvings and Banteay Samre was very pretty and special. It was quieter than many of the other ruins. The tour guide was helpful and good humored and told some interesting stories about life in Cambodia.Written December 8, 2023

The description is absolutely right, Angkor War is better experienced at dawn, with the cool temperatures and beautiful morning light. Guide was very knowledgeable, of course, and we felt so accomplished seeing as much as we did (5 sites!) in one day, but still not feeling rushed, and with a generous afternoon break. Great choice if you don't have time to visit the temples over the course of several days.

My experience would not have been as exceptional as it was had it not been for my amazing guide. He was so informative, and knowledgeable, and spoke really good English! He went above and beyond, showing me the best angles for photos with the best lighting. This was a perfect tour because it was so hot outside and I was able to rest in the afternoon and then they picked me up for the sunset tour. I also loved that he was able to share more on Cambodian culture today and not just from the 12th century. Overall amazing tour, highly worth it!

This was a once in a lifetime experience. The guide, a Mr. B. Chang of Angkor Doors, was beyond wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and non-intrusive. Transportation was in an air conditioned Toyota Highlander, and cold water was frequently provided. The tour involves a lot of walking, as it covers multiple temples including Angkor Wat, Ta Prong, Angkor Thom (a huge complex almost 4 square miles) and others. Despite this, it was not exhausting, as there is a 4+ hour break between 10:45 and 3PM when you are returned to your hotel and picked up again. We took fabulous pictures, we learned a lot about Khmer Empire and the Hindu and Buddhist religions that dominated the area and sometimes came to a conflict. It was magical. Exceeded every expectation.

We had an incredible tour with our guide Som. His English was excellent and he gave us a truly informative tour with an amazing knowledge of the history of these ancient sites and some great insights into contemporary life in Cambodia.
Despite some inclement weather in the afternoon part of the tour (probably to be expected given it is the rainy season), Som went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time. He is also quite the photographer and after my phone went flat he took a heap of good photos on his phone and sent them to me which was greatly appreciated.
Overall this was an outstanding experience and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is looking for a tour around the Angkor complex.
Be mindful that it is quite a hot long day but again that is what you expect in the tropical jungle 😉

We had the most spectacular day with our guide Mr Sear from Angkor Doors! We were picked up for the early sunrise which was worth waking up for! Mr Sear was extremely informative and a genuine and kind human whose passion was very clear! Mr Sear told us many facts and having a rest in the middle of the day while it was hottest was a great idea. Our driver was also extremely good, always offering us water and making sure we were okay getting into the car. Mr Sear was also a fantastic photographer!! I would highly recommend booking with Angkor Doors for a professional and memorable way to see Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples.

A perfect tour with Pal Chen that was worth waking up early for. Mr Chen spoke great English and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the various temples around Angkor Wat, as well as general Cambodian knowledge. We learned a lot from him. I thought he broke the day up very well by visiting 3 temples in the morning, returning to our hotel and then the last temple in the afternoon. It was much more enjoyable this way because we were able to get out of the heat in the middle of the day, as well as take a much-needed nap after being up at 4am. We were lucky the day we went, as we saw a nice sunrise and sunset. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a personal tour guide within Angkor Wat.

It was tiring to get up early but absolutely a wonderful tour to explore the main temples within a day. Our guide, Naga was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the history of the temples that we had visited. His sense of humour perked us up when we were getting tired. We had a great time. Thank you!

My mum and I went on this tour, and despite the early start it was amazing. Our guide was so informed, he took lots of time to explain the details. We got a lovely 3 hour break for lunch and then went back for sunset. The tomb raider temple is spectacular. Loved it so much we booked the Kampong Phluk trip the following day.

I really enjoyed this tour. My guide Bunpheng, was very friendly, professional, punctual and informational. He used his experience to see the sunrise and get *the* picture at the reflecting pool while mostly avoiding the large crowds. He was insightful on the history of the various temples and showed a real enthusiasm and love for the history and culture. After a mid afternoon rest, we saw the temples at Angkor Thom and waited for the sunset. I recommend taking this tour.
