My partner and I had an exceptional day at Angkor Wat with Theng our guide in November 2018. He arranged a full-day private tour for us of the most popular sites at the temples - Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat. We had the option of Tuk Tuk or A/C car and opted for the latter out of comfort. He made sure we had cold water all day and timed the visit perfectly so that we had enough time in each place. Theng is personable, knowledgeable and easy to understand. He provided the perfect mix of enough information, time for photos and helped us to find the best spots for the best photos. He also served as photo taker. We learned a great deal about the temples and also learned that Theng could curate tours to other parts of the country should we wish. Unfortunately our time in Cambodia was too short for this. I strongly recommend Theng and Angkor Boutique Tours as a guide when you visit Siem Reap. Book in advance, book the A/C car and look to at other sites you might want to visit so you're all set before you get there. Seeing the temples without a guide means you miss half the experience of Angkor and the guides provided by the hotel did not compare as we had done one the day prior to our tour with Theng.

We booked Mr Thang after a recommendation from a very good friend and it proved to be the best recommend we had whilst out here. We spend three whole days on various tours around temples, villages and waterfalls. Mr Thang is a fountain of Khmer knowledge and his command of English is excellent. We felt safe in his company and had good value for money. We would recommend this company as a tour guide for Siem Reap in a heartbeat.

We arrived in Cambodia after Vietnam. Arrived from Vietnam with a bad taste in our mouth caused by the Vietnamese guide who was more interested in the commission he would make by shepherding us to tourist shops (300% more expansive than other ones) and telling us the rate for tip that he and the driver should receive, we were apprehensive in Cambodia. Theng was a knowledgeable, well informed, decent and greathearted. He was prompt, flexible, easy going and caring. We wished that he was our guide in Hanoi.

I had been on the traditional Angkor Wat tours and felt dissatisfied. I wanted a tour that would go beyond the traditional sites and give me a better feel for Cambodia. Mr. Theng heard my request and boy did he produce. We saw sunset from the temple Phnom Krom frequented by primarily locals. This meant that we shared the beautiful view with some Buddhist monks and local people instead of the hundreds of tourists you will find waiting for sunset at Angkor Wat. We went into the village to see how the locals lived in the houses on stilts, instead of taking a boat with many tourists to see the view from afar. Similarly, we traveled to see the Banteay Chmar Temple and were alone with the exception of a local wedding party and residents practicing their dance for the new year celebration. We also took a motorcycle thru the rice fields to come face to face with a small herd of water buffalos. We did not stop at all the tourist restaurants, but ate at small restaurants with the locals and enjoyed amazing meals. Finally, knowing my interests, he recommended I visit a little known warehouse that catalogues and stores ancient artifacts that are used to restore the temples. I did this outside of our touring together. In sum, Angkor Wat is a special place and community. If you want to experience Cambodia in a more intimate way, speak to Mr. Theng. Tell him what you hope to gain and, like he did with me, he will deliver.

We planned a short stay in Cambodia and our first impression was the greeting from a smiling Theng at the airport. His easy manner and nature immediately relaxed us. Theng outlined local interests between the Airport and our hotel. On arrival he explained collection for our trip to Angkor Wat and other temples the following day. He arrived early and again we talked endlessly both on route and around the Temples. Theng was respectful to our privacy and timed his commentary perfectly. He provided a general history of the Temples demonstrating his depth of knowledge and a love of his Country. We now plan a longer stay in Cambodia and will likely plan with Theng. We thoroughly enjoyed his company - he is welcome anytime in the UK!

We were referred to Brown by another guide we had previously used, so he came HIGHLY recommended. Brown customized our itinerary so we wouldn't duplicate any of the temples we had already seen. Brown was very interesting and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I enjoyed our "political" conversations and learning about Brown's life and the steps that led him to become a tour guide. Theng arranged a 6 day tour for my girlfriend and I in Siem Reap & Battambang. I was extremely impressed with Theng's knowledge in the history of Cambodia, he shared many stories with us. More importantly, Theng's English pronunciation was on point, so we understood all he had to share. Theng's passion and love for his country is evident as we got to know him better, it is people like Theng who will propel Cambodia forward. Both Theng and the driver provided a high professionalized service at a reasonable price, the Lexus RE300 was clean and well maintained. The same can be said for his website, you simply will not be disappointed.
