- dammmo30 contributionsWorth every penny!!Definitely a must do when in Siem Reap!! I was only here for two days, first day at the temples and second day on this tour, and I’m very glad I did this! It was an amazing experience visiting the local village and market by bike, experiencing Cambodia without the tourists!! Also the Kompong Khleang tour was amazing, with us getting to stop at a local homestay family for lunch. Amazing experience, would recommend 100% over any other floating village tour!!Written November 18, 2023
- cori3690 contributionsTop experienceWe spent the whole day with our guide Thonin. Hé was a very good one and a very nice man. Hé told us abouth all the things we want to known about the life in Cambodia. Really, the trip was very well organized. Good organisation! Little bit more expensive than other ones. But you get really much more quality for your money. Thank you for the very nice trip we made.Written November 13, 2023
- 226sajjadd0 contributionsGreat tripBest day trip ever. 'Mr handsome' the tour guide was extremely professional and driver was very safe. We took a bike ride to explore the tour guides home village and experienced a local market then took a boat to and learnt all about the people of the floating village and had a trip into the middle of tonle sap lake. We were fed along the way. Well worth the 69 dollars.Written November 10, 2023
- yoerim920 contributionsExceptional way to get to know the Cambodian countrysideAfter two days of visiting temples, we decided to do something completely different on our last day in Siem Reap. While researching online, we came across this tour as one of the few that visits the less touristy floating village of Kampong Khleang. Another huge advantage is that they work in coordination with the local community, so it doesn't feel as if you're intruding. Moreover, you also do a cycling trip in Bakong, where you can experience the day to day life in rural Cambodia. This is all done under the guidance of a knowledgeable tour guide who is ready to provide you with lots of information and an answer on all your questions. Since we were only two people, normally the tour would not go through since they require a minimum of three. But they made an exception for us for which we are truly grateful!Written October 25, 2023

- Globetrotterfraa-z0 contributionsFantastic Bike tour in the countryside of Siem ReapWe had a fantastic tour. Our guide took us to a very Well organised farm to see how they cultuvate their land, we visited a mushroom farm, tasted rise Wine, and visited a Lotus farm. The guide gave us so much information about the Life here in Cambodia and he answered every question, we asked. We highly recommend this tour.Written January 31, 2020
- Alex H0 contributionsFun way of seeing a more rural side of Cambodian lifeA good way to see more of the Cambodian countryside. We were picked up from our hotel within the specified time frame and then travelled to our first stop in the air-conditioned minibus, picking up the other guests on the way. There were 6 of us on the tour so a nice sized group. We started with around an hour long bike ride which included a walk around a local market - some interesting sights and smells! A soft drink was included on our return to the bike shop. We then continued onto the boat stop, driving through the countryside past the houses on stilts. No western toilet at the bike shop but we did stop on the way to the boats at a rest stop that did. Aprox 2 hrs on the boat through floating villages both Cambodia and vietnamese. We then stopped at a local home stay for lunch - options of what to have between fried rice, steamed rice or noodles with beef, chicken or pork (no vegetarians in the group so not sure on vegetarian options). Picked up traditional Cambodian snack on the way back (sweet rice in bamboo) before being dropped at our hotel. Thanks to our guides Chan and Chia and driver Lee for a lovely day out.Written January 26, 2020
- Maya R0 contributionsGreat experience biking the Siem Reap countryside!I would highly recommend this activity for visitors to Siem Reap! It shows you that there is so much more to visiting the city apart from the Angkor temples. It allows you to experience a different side of the city and enjoy a pleasant bike ride. My guide, Mr. Sry, was amazing and provided a really nice tour of the countryside.Written January 1, 2020
- Jasperd2730 contributionsEscape from Siem ReapThis tour is a very nice way to explore the country side around Siem Reap and see the life outside the tourist bubble. Our excellent guide - Mr Seyha - gave us a very good insight in the different elements and also challenges that make up daily life in Cambodia. De pace of the tour is very nice with short bike rides and stops throughout the morning (in our case). We saw sites and heard things that we would otherwise have missed, it was a very valuable addition to our stay.Written December 8, 2019
- travelkick0 contributionsBest Tour Ever!We have been on a lot of tours all over the world, large groups, small groups, private. But we were the most impressed with this Join in Triple A Adventure Tour. Our guide and driver Vutha spoke very good English, was informative, entertaining and amusing, and showed such a love and pride for his country. We started with a bike ride in the country. Some local children proudly showed off their catch of frogs. Vutha spoke to us about country life in Cambodia and gave us a close up look at country houses, well water accessed by pumps and power from car batteries. We then went to a large local market. No tourists in sight except for our very small group of 3 tourists and guide. Along with beautiful fresh produce, there was the meat market with 4 or 5 pig heads and whole, plucked chickens displayed. The fish market was filled with many shallow pans full of different varieties of live fish swimming and splashing around. We got a good splash as we were purchasing a skewer of grilled, stuffed frogs. The frogs were stuffed with chopped rice noodle, vegetables, herbs and spices. Really, really delicious. A skewer of 4 was $1.25. After the bike tour, we went on to Kompong Khleang Floating Village. We had a delicious lunch at a local home stay in a stilted house. It felt like being in a treehouse. We were given a choice for lunch as a group. Rice or noodle? Pork, beef, chicken? We were served a chicken vegetable stir fry with rice and watermelon for dessert. Very good. The chicken breast in the stir fry was especially worth noting. It was flavorful and not dry, unlike the dry, flavorless chicken breast I usually avoid at home. This is probably because Cambodian chickens are raised in true farm conditions, free range and scratching for food, not crammed together in cages with their beaks snipped off. Before heading off, we were able to use the restrooms at the home stay. We were very pleased that they offered the luxury of western toilets, not something to be taken for granted in the country. Next, we went on a boat ride to see the floating village. We were amazed at the size of the community, the number of homes, the schools, bars and markets. We later discovered online that the cost per person to enter the village, which includes the boat rides is $20. Our tour was a little less than $50 per person, which covered this entrance fee. We got really good value for our money. On top of that, our small group was only 3 people. For our personal group of 2, this was practically a private tour. Our entire day, the only tourists we saw were ourselves. We look forward to doing this tour again when it is rainy season so that we can see what it will look like then as compared to what we just saw in the dry season. We highly recommend this tour. It covers all the points, great, authentic experience, excellent value, delicious food. If you are lucky, maybe you'll get Vutha as your guide.Written December 7, 2019
- TravelsWith3Kids0 contributionsGreat way to see rural CambodiaI went on this tour as part of a women's trip to Cambodia organized by a friend of mine and I hadn't read any reviews ahead of time so I didn't know many of the details or have many expectations beyond what I'd read more generally in the guidebooks about Tonle Sap. Johm met our group of 8 at our Siem Reap hotel and briefed us a bit on the day. After a bit of a drive we stopped in a small village where we picked up our bikes and started down the road. We were able to stop and take photos along the way and all of the kids we saw wanted to say hi to us. We ended up at a large market and Johm led us through, pointing out various stalls and especially some of the fruits that are unfamiliar to North Americans. At the end of the shopping we got back on the bikes and rode a different way back to the first village and had a cold drink (most of us had fresh coconut water but other options were available as well). After that we got back in the van and headed to Kompong Khleang stilt village. What an interesting way of life that is. Because the lake level varies so much over the year they have both road access and boat access depending on what time of year you go. That's for the stilt houses. Further out are the floating houses which are only accessed by boat but they move them further out in the lake some of the year. We had lunch at one of the stilt houses before going further out into the lake where the floating homes go some of the year (they were closer in near the stilt houses when we were there). We were there just before the Water Festival and saw a bunch of boys practicing their boat racing. On the drive back to Siem Reap we stopped at a roadside stand for sticky rice cooked in bamboo - tasty and also interesting. Johm was a fantastic guide and this was a great way to learn more about rural life today in Cambodia.Written December 2, 2019
- David S0 contributionsGreat way to see a different side of CambodiaThoroughly enjoyable day which involved a 1 hour or so bike ride, a visit to a non-tourist local village market, and the floating villages and stilt houses of the Tonle Sap (largest fresh-water lake in SE Asia). The driver and tour guide (Chili) were excellent - informative, funny and considerate of their guests. The bike ride is manageable by anyone - it's slow and on totally flat terrain. Highly recommended activity.Written November 24, 2019
- Antony3300 contributionsA fun day out and good crowed to be with.Break out of Siem Reap and see how people live, it will broaden your horizons. Easy cycling on undulating dirt roads, village market, lunch at a house on stilts, followed by a deafening ride on a boat that heads out onto the lake. Very interesting and enjoyable day.Written November 19, 2019
- Sal I0 contributionsDo not miss this! You will forget about the crowds and the Temples' circus when you will be completely immersed in the daily life of this community. This tour is a lifetime experience. I hope they manage to keep it authentic and helpful for the locals.Written November 19, 2019

So I didn't know what to expect but I must say, WOW! Siem Reap is a beautiful city, but exploring the countryside and the floating village is something you can't miss when you are here! Especially in a vintage jeep, you get to go off-road and explore different villages.
Everything was well arranged, the tour guide was very friendly and explained a lot on the way. I recommend 100%!

Dear Rob, Thank you so much for writing a review. We appreciate it very much. We are also very happy that you booked our private jeep tour, as this is the best way to explore the countryside of Siem Reap. It also allows our guides to spend more time with guests and take them to places they would not find on their own. We hope to see you again in the future.

We are working in the hospitality and wanted to join a tour to explore the nature, culture and meet the locals. We had a great time visiting villages and rice fields, cruise along a river to the floating village and we met so many friendly smiling people! Touring with the vintage Jeeps was the highlight of our tour! Thanks to the professional guides and drivers. If in Cambodia don’t miss this tour.

We booked this tour hoping to get some insight into the everyday lives of Cambodian people in rural communities. It went far beyond our expectations. We wanted get away from the main tourist hotspots and to have a more authentic experience and this tour delivered exactly that. We cannot recommend this tour enough. Our guide Chili was extremely friendly and knowledgable and such a genuine guy. He went of his way to ensure we had a memorable day. Thank you Chili and Triple A Adventures for a truly unforgettable experience. We will be back.

This trip is well worth taking, our tour guide Cherry was fantastic, he was very informative and sensitive in representing his country and his people. be prepared to get a little dirty on the tour as you will be driving dirt roads in a open jeep, but nothing a shower will solve after a great day visiting the wonderful people of Cambodia.

This tour was part of our arranged travel itinerary but we had some idea of what to expect. The tour was led by guide James (his English was very good!) and very well organized. First we did the cycling (+\- 30-45 minutes) and stopped visited a local market. Here we tried some local delicacies which were very good. Then moved on to the floating village where we had lunch (which was very tasty and in a nice location!) and then went on a boat ride out to the lake. We enjoyed our day very much! Some pro’s & con’s:
- the oldtimer jeep is pretty cool but would be better suited for less kilometers of travel. The seating is not particularly comfortable and due to the open sides it got very dusty (which we knew upfront) but the thing we didn’t like were the gasoline fumes from the car itself (pretty strong) and the other traffic when on the busy roads. Next to that it’s noisy so almost impossible to have a conversation whilst in the car, without shouting to eachother. The latter we also experienced in the boat.
- the organization of the tour is very strong. The route is carefully set out and at various places we stopped for a toilet break, drink or snack. The places are authentic and not touristy at all. Many friendly people! There is sufficient water/refreshing towels in the car so we were fully pampered during the trip. Also, when we saw something that interested us along the road, it was no bother to add another stop.
- We enjoyed the hammocks at the lunch area. It was nice to relax a little bit before heading out onto the water. Nice detail and made the tour very relaxed.
Thanks guys for a lovely day we definitely recommend!
