About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- A8034DYclairew0 contributionsA must if visiting CambodiaWe got picked up and taken to Angkor Wat for the beautiful Sunrise. We were able to take a breakfast box from our hotel but the tour will stop at a local cafe/restaurant for drinks and food. On board our bus , the driver Kiel would frequently offer complimentary water and wet towels to help with the heat. Our guide was Sam and he was amazing, he was so knowledgeable about Angkor Wat, even telling us personal stories from growing up in the times of the Khmer Rouge. On top of his knowledge of the temples, he was an amazing photographer too. We really did have an amazing day.Written March 16, 2025
- DebSom19530 contributionsAngkor Wat is worth seeing at least for the 1 day.Yuth Bat our guide was very knowledgeable in the history of Angkor Wat and all the Temples. It was a very hot day so when we got back to our air condition bus they greeted us with fresh cold towels and more water. We had a wonderful lunch in an AC restaurant so that was nice to get out of the heat and the food was very good. We even spent a little time there resting waiting to go to the next Temple so the weather would cool and we would be ready for the sunset. Unfortunately it clouded over and we had a big windstorm so we never did get up to see the sunset but the rest of it was amazing. Lots of walking so by the time you finish with the temples you better have enough energy to walk up the hill to see the sunset.Written March 16, 2025
- emilyvI983KT0 contributionsStunning sunrise over Angkor WatWe did the sunrise tour today and Mr Sok Chea was a fantastic guide. He knew all the best photo spots and took many great photos for us. The driver Mr Mao was also great at supplying us with plenty of cold water and cooling towels. All three temples were beautiful! We definitely recommend going on this tour.Written March 16, 2025
- karlsV157ML0 contributionsWell worth the experienceNothing short of spectacular. We went to all the places we expected and got a fantastic history lesson and the photos to match. The tour guides Pal and our driver were accommodated all the needs of this trip. Cold towels and cold water was readily available as well.Written March 15, 2025
- jasonrM7006EW0 contributionsFantastic Ankor experienceWe had a fantastic experience with Samnang (Lucky)! We were welcomed so warmly, learned so much, and felt throughout like we were getting the absolute best of Ankor. We had cold towels and water waiting in the van after every stop (so refreshing with the heat of March). Samnang shared history and culture with us, and we couldn’t have been happier. The sunrise over Ankor was especially memorable. Highly recommended!Written March 15, 2025
- Louisedoe030 contributionsLovely and interesting sunrise tripSok chea was such a great tour guide, taking us to the best stop for the sunrise in good time, and telling some interesting facts and history along the way! mr mao was a great driver!Written March 15, 2025

- Waspsrufc0 contributionsVantha a great guide 👍A wonderful sunrise visit with our guide, Vantha. He is very knowledgeable guide who has years of experience. He got us to the best place to sit for the sunrise as my picture shows. We got picked up on time from hotel. We had a breakfast box from hotel as 0430 depart but you do stop at a local cafe/restaurant at about 9am so you can buy local. Vantha & his driver provided plenty of cold water & cooling towels after each phase of the tour. Naturally, there was plenty of walking, but wow, the whole area was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this tour. 👌Written March 15, 2025

We took the two day tour of the Angkor Wat Complex offered by Journey Cambodia with Bun (Guide) and Mao (Driver), Feb 2025. This was a bucket list trip for us and we were very pleased with the content of the tour and the offerings of Journey Cambodia. There were several stops each day covering some of the ‘out of the way’ temples on Day 1 ( Banteay Srei, Preah Khann, Pre Rup) and the more well known temples on Day 2 (Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Bayon, etc). This was truly a small group tour with 7-8 of us total, the van was comfortable and well air conditioned. The guides and driver regularly provided cold bottled water, and cool towels at each stop - we didn’t expect this but we very much appreciated it after hiking in the heat and sun all day.
There were lunch breaks each day at local restaurants selected by the guide - great fresh local food at very affordable prices. Several vegetarian options were available at each restaurant.
Tips:
-Bring insect repellent
-Bring Sunscreen and a Hat
-Sunglasses
-Day 2 included a sunrise stop at Angkor Wat - a flashlight would have been helpful here because it’s a very early start and completely dark outside
We felt the commentary by Mr Bun was great, very helpful in understanding the Khmer Empire at a high level without being overwhelmingly detailed. He also took time to share some of Cambodia’s more recent history including the Khmer Rouge and included a stop at a local village to show us the local way of life including how palm sugar is harvested, local plants like jackfruit, mango, etc. It was all very interesting but well paced.
We would definitely recommend opting for the two day tour. The ‘out of the way’ temples from day one are all incredible in and of themselves and they are a lot less busy than the more familiar temples you will see on day 2. We really couldn’t recommend this tour with Journey Cambodia enough. Overall, it’s one of the best tours we’ve taken anywhere in our travels around the world.

We recently joined the Angkor 2-Day Sunset & Sunrise Small-Group Tour, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. A huge part of what made it so special was our guide, Samnang Yean (Lucky). His extensive knowledge of Angkor’s history, culture, and architecture was simply astounding. He brought the temples to life with fascinating stories and insights, making every moment of the tour captivating.
Lucky was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also kind, approachable, and always willing to answer any questions we had. He ensured that we got the best views during the sunset and sunrise, making the experience even more magical. His passion for sharing the beauty of Angkor and its history truly shone through.
The tour was well-organised, and being in a small group made it feel personal and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Angkor temples, and if you’re lucky enough to have Lucky as your guide, you’re in for a treat!
Thank you, Lucky, for making this journey so memorable!

The tour was excellent. Sam, our guide, spoke English clearly and was very knowledgeable, providing detailed information about each temple and Cambodia’s history. He answered all our questions and explained everything thoroughly. We initially booked the tour to experience both sunset and sunrise, but the group option only included the sunrise (sunset is available with the private tour). We opted not to add the sunset tour due to exhaustion from the heat and walking, and since it rained that night, we don't feel we missed much. The driver supplied plenty of water at each stop and offered towels to help us cool off on the bus between temples. Overall, we highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about the temples and Cambodia's history.

The 2-day tour of Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples with Journey Cambodia was absolutely amazing! The entire experience was incredibly well-organized, and the team was punctual and professional.
Our guide, Bun, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the history and significance of each site brought the temples to life. He shared fascinating stories and insights in an engaging and approachable way, making the tour both educational and enjoyable.
Our driver, Sal, was equally fantastic. He was always ready and waiting for us with a smile, offering cold water and refreshing chilled towels after each temple visit—a small but thoughtful touch that made a big difference in the Cambodian heat.
The itinerary was well-paced, allowing us to explore the iconic Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm (the “Tomb Raider” temple), Bayon, and several other stunning temples without feeling rushed. The beauty and grandeur of these ancient sites are simply breathtaking, and the team at Journey Cambodia made sure we had the best possible experience.

If you're considering exploring the temples around Angkor Wat, I cannot recommend this two-day tour enough! Our tour guide, Pi, was absolutely phenomenal—his depth of knowledge about the history, culture, and architecture brought the temples to life in a way that was both engaging and awe-inspiring. His passion for the site shone through every explanation, making the experience unforgettable.
Keal, our driver, was equally fantastic. Navigating the area with skill and ensuring we stayed cool and refreshed with cold towels after each temple stop—an absolute dream in the heat.
The itinerary was perfectly planned, balancing the iconic grandeur of Angkor Wat with quieter, less-visited temples for a truly immersive experience. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, making this an exceptional way to explore one of the world's most iconic cultural wonders. Don’t hesitate—this tour is worth every moment!

It has been an impressive two day tour with Sak & Naroo exploring the wonders of Angkor temples. Sak has been our competent guide with a smile giving showing us the most relevant sites, providing all background information, answering all our questions. We even managed a stop at the landmine museum which we highly recommend too.
Naroo, the driver, provided us always with enough water and cool towels when embarking the bus after visiting a site. It could not have been better. Arkoun!

We booked a two-days tour including sunrise at Angkor Wat and second day at Banteay Srei. We enjoyed very much the day at Angkor Wat and our tour guide, Saroun, and driver were just great! Saroun gave us a lot of details on the history and culture of Cambodia, on the temples statues and spots, while also taking amazing videos and pictures of us. Based on our experience, we really much recommend this tour to anyone who would like to have an unforgettable experience in one of the most beautiful places in Cambodia and with great and professional guides.

It was a good experience, if tiring, made special by our guide Sak and the group I was with.
The experience was worth the effort, made specifically hard due to heat. The second day starting at 4:30 in the morning was challenging. Our group on the first full day was six people, a really good mix of people and I enjoyed everyone’s company. We gelled together rather well. As I was oldest in the group (by perhaps 30+ years to some), they often enquired on how I was coping. Anton and Aleksxandra as well as Jenny and her friend from the Netherlands often offered me help to get on or off a difficult step, greatly appreciated. Tonko from Japan was a great company too. Without the group, it would have been a lot less fun.
The temples were amazing. Worth seeing once.
The drive was in a comfortable A/C coach. They supplied chilled water throughout the day, won’t have been able to carry on. The cold lightly eucalyptus scented towels offered after each temple visit were equally great in resetting me after harsh weather of the temple visit.
Out guide Sak was great. He not only always made sure I was looked after and always helped me offering hand to get on or off difficult steps, he seemed to be an intelligent and well researched guide. He gave us a great insight into a number of aspects and was substantially accurate on Hindu backgrounds of various objects as I know them. My wife had taken a similar tour a month ago and comparing notes with her, Sak gave us a lot of insight and information her guide did not. I was fortunate to have had him as our guide.
Our driver Yeg spoke little English but drove carefully and his smile didn’t need language proficiency. He was always there to greet and guide us to coach as we can back in ones and twos. Always with cold towels and chilled water in hands to welcome us back in that comfort zone of A/C coach.
Special shout out to the guide, the driver and the group I was with.

Dear Narendra,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed review! We're thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful experience, despite the challenging aspects like the heat and early morning start.
It sounds like your fellow travelers truly made the trip special. We're happy to hear you gelled well with the group, especially with Anton, Aleksandra, Jenny, her friend, and Tonko. Their support and camaraderie are a testament to the great connections that can form on these tours.
We're also grateful for your kind words about our guide Sak. His attentiveness, knowledge, and passion for the tour are highly valued, and we're glad he was able to provide you with a deeper understanding of the Hindu background compared to your previous experience.
Finally, your appreciation for Yeg's driving skills and helpfulness is much appreciated. His dedication to ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience reflects our commitment to exceptional service.
We appreciate you highlighting the small details that made a big difference, such as the chilled water, refreshing towels, and comfortable transportation.
Thank you again for choosing us and for sharing your positive feedback. We strive to provide unforgettable experiences and your review helps us achieve that goal.

This tour was the best I’ve ever done. Our guide was Sak, who spoke excellent English, and happily answered all of the questions we had with a smile and a laugh - he also turned out to be an excellent photographer, for anyone looking to capture their best angles!
The tour was extremely informative and enjoyable, providing a wonderful balance of history and time for us to explore ourselves. Each site began with a detailed explanation of the history of the Angkor sites and their structures from Sak, helping us to imagine what they once were like by explaining why architectural decisions were made, before allowing us to explore and immerse ourselves in the sites.
The organisation was also exemplary - Kosal was our minivan driver - with cool water and refreshingly icy headtowels in the air conditioned minivan. The trip to Angkor Wat for sunrise was easy - if early! - with Sak showing us the perfect spot to view the reflection of all 5 towers, which soon others went towards, but ours was prime position.
I couldn’t recommend this tour more for anyone wanting to see the temples of Angkor whilst learning about the ancient civilisations in a fun and informative way - and make sure to ask for Sak for the best experience!
10/10, I couldn’t even think of anything I’d change unless you know of a guide who can magic away the clouds at sunrise!

We booked directly with Journey Cambodia for their 2 day tour of temples around Angkor Wat, including a 4am pick up for sunrise at Angkor Wat itself!
Journey Cambodia were very efficient in all the organisation of the trip.
The trip itself was really good - the driver, Mr Sal, was very safe and provided us with an endless supply of water, snacks and umbrellas.
The tour guide we had, Mr Tann, was exceptional. His knowledge of the temples was superb and his ability to convey this to us with fun and excitement, as well as being able to answer all of our questions was excellent. It's worth stating that his English was absolutely superb and he really made our tour.
The temples themselves are amazing and it is certainly worth having a guide to give you context and history. The 2 day tour allowed us to see a variety of different types of temple, from small, to overgrown to Angkor Wat itself.
