          Highly recommend
Excellent activity. From the English speaking tuk-tuk driver to the professionally trained Master Chef the whole experience was amazing. All the ingredients were prepared with personal assistance assembiling the meal. An informative tour of the local village market started the experience.

          Cambodian Cooking Class by Lake
I was in Siem Reap 10 years ago and did exactly the same cooking class with Beyond Unique- came back with husband and enjoyed it as much if not more! The location has changed from the Sojourn Hotel to a different country lakeside. Not quite such perfect setting but still lovely to cook and eat outdoors with the view of the water. The chef and facilitator were amazing- truly made the day. We made fresh spring rolls, chicken curry and banana fritters. Very delicious. Came away (another) recipe book of our afternoon’s work. Very much recommend!

          Food for thought
This cooking class was a hands on class and just what we love. Starting with a guided tour of the local market with the beautiful, knowledgeable Sophia. Sophia's English was very good and always had our safety in mind when walking in wet and busy areas. Excellent guide. The cooking school is set in a beautiful cool shaded area with a big pond with big turtles which we could feed. Very relaxing and a nice break in between cooking the dishes. Our Chef, Angelina was extremely professional, knowledgeable and very experienced. The dishes we cooked Rice paper rolls Chicken curry Bananas in coconut milk. Take home recipe book. Tea and water supplied All delicious!! Once prepared and cooked we were then served the food in a beautiful thatched pagola looking over the gorgeous pond. This was a very fun experience for us with very engaging staff with lots of laughs also. If you enjoy cooking, do this class... You will love it.

The best private tour of the Angkor Temples!
This tour was amazing. They planned it really well and we went during times of the day when it wasn’t too packed. Our tour guide, Sokha, was so knowledgeable and a joy to spend the day with. He took us around the sites the opposite way that it seemed like most other tour groups were going. At one point we were standing in the middle of Angkor Wat all by ourselves! We felt so lucky to have him as our guide. He also took amazing photos. I would highly recommend Beyond Unique Escapes and we will definitely use them on our next trip!

Great Siem Reap Activity with Kids
We spent a wonderful morning walking through the market and learning to cook a few Cambodian dishes with the delightful ladies. My elementary aged kids loved the experience, even my picky eater ate all the dishes. The ladies were so nice, helpful and respectful. I strongly recommend trying this cooking class with children or without.

Best cooking class I've done in Asia!
The best cooking class I've done in Asia - and I've done quite a few! Wonderful guide Sophia who took us around the local market in the late afternoon, which was really bustling. Every time my daughter or I showed interest in something, she would buy some and let us try it. Then we arrived at the beautiful cooking school / kitchen, where we met our master chef Preah. She walked us through all the ingredients, then we started to cook and prepare the most delicious mango and chicken salad, fish amok curry, and sweet sticky rice for dessert. In between courses we learned how to make various yummy cocktails, and they kept flowing - as many as we wanted. This really was an amazing afternoon & evening, and incredible value. 6 stars!!

          Beyond our expectations
This experience was beyond our expectations! The tour of the market was amazing, we were introduced to every kind of vegetable and herb, and our tour guide was just amazing! Spoke very good english and knew a lot about the food of the market. After we went to a beautiful place away from the busy streat to cook 3 meals. We were introduced to the chef who taught us a lot of new things. The cooking was amazing, it was so much fun with the 2 ladies that gave the cooking class. After the cooking class we had a little bit of time to eat, relax and enjoy the view over a small pond. We recommend this experience to everyone that is visiting Siem Reap for sure! Thank you so much for everything! Pim & Ellen

Best cooking class in Siem Reap
We had a fabulous night at the Evening Cooking Class. Our friendly Tuk Tuk drivers picked us up from our hotel at the allocated time and transported us to the local market where we met our lovely guide, Sophia. She walked us through the market giving us insightful information on all the local delicacies. We were then taken to a pavilion in a beautiful location overlooking a lake with turtles, and given local fruit and a refreshing drink. We were introduced to our amazing master chef who shared her talent and great instructions for our cooking We made chicken and green mango salad, fish amok and sticky rice with mango which all tasted and looked amazing. In between courses we learnt how to make 3 different cocktails, and were invited to help ourselves to make more. It was so much fun. We left very happy and satisfied with included cookbooks in hand. I am so glad we chose this cooking class out of the many options available. I would recommend it to everyone.

          Superior culinary treat!
We HIGHLY recommend that you include the Cambodian Cooking Class in you SiemReap itinerary! Sopheap guided us through the market and taught us so much about many foods and cooking techniques. She was so considerate, informative, patient and kind. Our chef Sinat was also a gem. The ingredients were top rate, the instructions clear so even a non-cook like me had a fabulous experience and delicious lunch. You will be delighted! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A local market tour, a cooking class and enjoying the authentic cuisine with travelers from different countries!
Their market tour was really nice! They taught us about their daily life a lot. Without their guide, we'd just walk around and know nothing about their life. We learned a lot and got better understanding about Khmer people.

Outstanding Example of a Tour Operator (DMC) that Preaches and Practices Sustainability
I recently organized and directed a three-week study tour in Thailand and Cambodia on the topic of CSR and Sustainable Tourism for 14 undergraduate business students from the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). During our stay in Cambodia, we used the services of Beyond Unique Escapes, which arranged various tours and other activities, including a very creative night dinner in a local village, personalized tours of Angkor Wat, attendance to a local circus, and visits to local charities. The owner of Beyond Unique, Mr. Lim, and his staff were outstanding in every area: They were efficient, responsive, and, very importantly, they designed and operated safe and sustainable tours of high educational value for my students. In addition to these tours, the students had a chance to participate in various CSR activities such as building vertical gardens and helping build a schoolhouse in a rural village—activities that the students loved! In the end, Beyond Unique Escapes delivered excellent value for money, and I would not hesitate to use them again as our DMC.

The guide didn’t show up - Unacceptable
The guide didn’t show up. If we knew we would be stood up, we would have chosen another guide or tour. It is unacceptable just not showing up nor answering the messages.

This was the highlight of our trip to Cambodia for my family of four! We loved going to the local's market and seeing and learning about the different foods offered. Our guide was kind, patient, quick with a laugh, and provided great explanations of the unique vegetables and sweets we saw. The cooking class was set in an idealic location, overlooking a beautiful lake. The instruction was well thought out and easy to follow. The food that we made was absolutely delicious! Some of the best we had while in Siem Reep.

This was a amazing day and the best cooking class I have ever done. From start to finish it was perfect we got to see the local market where we got fresh food and fresh treats. When we arrived at the outdoor kitchen it was beautiful surrounded by a lake with trees and a horse ranch near by.

Sofia and the chef ( sorry can’t remember how to spell her name ) they were both incredible so kind and helpful and taught us so much.

Had such a lovely day with both of them could not of been any better, the food we made was awesome and we got to keep the cards with recipes on.

This is a 10/10 definitely book, best ever class I done.

So thank you guys had the best time it was perfect

This experience was one of our favorites during our two-week trip in SE Asia. Our tour guide, Sopia, took us around a market and shared lots of knowledge about seasonal fresh foods. Our chef instructor, Prey, gave us expert instruction on how to prep ingredients and how to prepare spring rolls, dressing, curry, and caramelized banana dessert. Both Sopia and Prey were so much fun to hang out with! They have a great sense of humor and hospitality that made us feel right at home. I will cherish this morning deeply. Oh, and the food you make is delicious! We are excited to use the recipe book they provided at the end of our day together. Thank you, Sopia and Prey!

I had a fantastic time at this cooking class! It’s started with tuk tuk transport from my hotel to a popular Cambodian market, and my guide Sophia walked me around & told me about all the Khmer ingredients, allowing me to smell different herbs and spices. She even purchased some traditional desserts for me to try. We then went to a gorgeous open-air kitchen next to a lake, and prepared a 3 course meal. The chef was really knowledgeable and helpful - I had so much fun learning about Khmer cooking! I then enjoyed the meal on their patio, and they gave me a recipe book to take home, which included not only the dishes I made but also many more! I HIGHLY recommend this class!

This is a wonderful opportunity and highly recommended for anyone traveling to the area! I would also suggest that you plan to do this activity the 1st or second day of your trip, because you learn where the markets are and the cost of items. You also will make a bunch of food! I was able to have about 3 meals from the one we prepared! Don't be shy about trying fun new foods too! The host and master chef were WONDERFUL, knowledgeable and patient.

Amazing experience! We started off the journey with a visit to the local market showing us around the market and what are some of the available spices, vegetables that are only available in Asia. We also did a lot of tasting there too. Everyone in the market are all smoles and very welcoming!
Afterwards we proceeded to the cookong class where we were greeted by the chef. Both chef and our tour guide is very knowledgeable and friendly and speaks very good english! They also made sure my mom is well taken care of (she’s 75 yrs old and has mobility issues). It was an amazing experience and the food we did is yummy! Will recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to cook Khmer dishes! Very warm and friendly people!

A must do for lovers of food. The cooking class started with a pick up from the hotel in a tuk tuk and a visit to the local markets, explaining ingredients and tasting along the way, if your up for it, you can have the chance to even try crickets, which i would recommend. After the market visit you are taken to the class.

The chef at the class is also delightful and knowledgeable, I learnt a lot and laughed a lot. I was fortunate to learn how to make a crispy mango salad with grilled chicken, Amok with fish (a traditional Cambodian dish) and fried bananas with coconut. Ordinarily I would have been intimidated to do these, however, when broken down to its components and guided through each step at the end i sat down to a lovely meal.

Sadly it ended and i was taken back to the hotel after eating what i made and cookbook in hand.

        Don’t hesitate in booking this.

On the last day of our 5 days in Siem Reap we booked with Cambodian Village cooking class and completely satisfied with our decision! After all the temples, we needed something more relaxing. The location is perfect, cooking outdoors in a garden. The master chef and host were so friendly and accommodating. Lastly, the satisfaction of eating our own food was priceless! We literally just came back to our hotel and couldn’t wait to give this review! Love them!

I booked this class for my boyfriends birthday whilst we were travelling South East Asia and it exceeded all expectations.

Not only was the area stunning, but our lovely guide and chef made it a beautiful day all round.

Aside from just being just a cooking class, the day starts with walking around the local village to learn about their way of living which was so interesting. You also explore and find the local plants, herbs and spices used in Khmer cuisine, so you can defo vouch for your meal being cooked fresh from scratch. (They smell AMAZING)

The dishes we made were absolutely delicious; you make 3 traditional and local dishes surrounded by the gorgeous gardens, then sit and eat it as a 3 course dinner afterwards in a separate part of the gardens. It felt like 5* private dining.

The class was so informative and the chef and guide speak very good English so conversation could easily veer from the actual class to discussing each other’s backgrounds and interests which made the experience so much more personal and special.

This was a real highlight of our trip, and we can’t recommend it enough, nor can we thank our guide and chef enough.

        Thank you!
