Picked up on time. Friendly staff.
Lovely boat with a great vibe.
The food was awful. Soggy fries, rubbery fish bites, flavourless mass produced spring rolls, bland fried rice etc. You get the drift.
For the price paid they could and should do so much better.
I note that other people have rated the food as good so the inconsistencies in food needs to be addressed.
The actual highlight of the trip was the lovely people we met.

Had a cruise this evening and saw beautiful skies from the Queen Tara as the sun went down. Pick up punctual and able to see floating homes, Buddhist temple, Catholic church and primary school. Also saw local people fishing and sailing by with cargos. Food was tasty (I ate the vegetarian dishes only) washed down with draught Cambodian beer. A fabulous experience, definitely recommend! 😊

This tour is not worth it for the price. Other than the natural sunset on Tonle Sap, there is nothing to talk about. The boat is old, dimly lit, without safety measures on board and the buffet was low class. Unless you’re going for the unlimited cocktails, it is not worth it.

thank you for your feedback, on the price with the cost fuel, foods and fair wages we like most places are having to keep the costs down,i think its a great buffet dinner, as now speaking from my Chef corner, mostly we get great reviews on the quality and selection of the foods, but also recently we did slightly change the menu as now less fried foods and more grilled and Vegetarian options, we also are constantly looking for the right combination on the buffet, we have also increased the fruits to more variety. yes thanks for your mention of unlimited cocktails, all drinks ere free including wines from Australia, and draft beers and spirits ect, yes dimly lit,( most people like this feature can see stars and enjoy lake without light pollution) year she is almost 100 years old,but she is a strong old girl, made from strong steel and recently has a ferrous-cement double hulled so she will be at her best of another 100 years, all safety equipment is on board, we are only 2 boat companies that are fully insured here ,so safety is our main focus cheer

The evening was smooth going and this was definitely the best tour on our trip. The overlook of the countryside and floating village was great. Our guide was very helpful and enthusiastic. The dinner boat was awesome, it even had hammocks in the back and the sunset was gorgeous! The food was amazing, nothing too special, just good and hearty. Very good vegetarian options. Nice flow of drinks all evening. 100% would recommend this tour!

I enjoyed most of this tour. The way it is advertised is a bit deceptive. The tour of the Tonle Sap floating village is really just a transfer boat to get to the Queen Tara, as evidenced by the fact that the guide pays for it at a window on arrival.
That was ok and we did see some of the floating villages, so it wasn't a problem.
This is advertised as a dinner cruise, however the Queen Tara doesn't actually go anywhere. It just sits in the same spot. It doesn't seem very well maintained either, at one point I went up on the top deck and my foot almost went through one of the floor boards.
I appreciated the guide helping me, as I had terrible heat rash on my legs. He got a bucket and some ice and water so I could sit with my legs in it. So he went above and beyond in my opinion.
Went down under the main deck to use the bathroom, its filthy, so I should have heeded that and not eaten the food.
Both of us got very sick in the middle of the night after eating here. Basically ruined the rest of our trip. My friend was still vomiting when she got back to Australia and her doctor said she had picked up an infection from eating chicken that hadn't been prepared properly.
The boat is huge and there were only about 8 of us on the tour. My guess is that post COVID they are cooking for like 50 people and then reheating enough for the amount of people who show up.
The only reason I've given this tour a 'terrible' rating is because of the food poisoning. I know it came from this place, I'm a professional tour leader who has worked mostly in the developing world. I know that when a client gets a tummy bug to count back 6 hours from when symptoms began and that's where they picked it up - so I'm not guessing.

thank you for your review, very surprised about your comments on the food and general state of the Queen Tara Riverboat, the food is excellent is prepared fresh everyday ,the staff are trained well about food hygiene, we cruise the large Queen Tara when we can, the night before and night after your sunset dinner special we cruised, the only reason we do not advertise we cruise is that the weather sometimes is too rough on the lake or in dry season too low, still we have the best views of the sunset cruise, yes the smaller boats do the actual tour of the floating villages as stated clearly on the websites, please do not guess, we had on your tour 4 people and yes the night before we had 58 people but we never reheat, i was a chef in my early years with the Australian Army, and have worked in many 4 star and 5 star restaurants ,after 20 years of owning the Tara Riverboat, and having personally trained the cooking staff i think the guessing is no longer here, it maybe possible the chicken this is the first time we had a suspect food poisoning, also this is the first time i had a complaint about the food, i will personally have a meeting with all staff about this incident, i would challenge you about the source of the food poisoning as you may suspect this as you can not be certain ,i only wish is to be informed as soon as possible as sometimes i do not check reviews every day, for me this food issue is critical, i have seen real food poisoning in my time at 5 star restaurants and some cases are so bad even flights are impossible, i am not saying we are perfect but i do know the staff well be shocked to learn of this complaint ., so just to be clear, any left over food go to the locals to have ,so whatever foods are left over the staff will drop off at the local floating villages community centre, i hope your friend will be better by now, p.s. having now reached out to other guests on that cruise and also the day before and day after everyone had no issues and food was feedback it was tasty my wife is a Doctor also from Vietnam, she has her Qualifications and practice in Perth Australia, i spoke to her on skype as i am in Cambodia, in her opinion its not always clear where the incident may have occurred so please think about this when posting seriously unproven remarks, i feel this post should also be removed, as we had no rights to respond until a week after such incident ,

Our tour guide was Mr Friday. He was a lovely person and explained to us the use of lotus flower, leaves, stem and root. We also visited a crocodile farm before going on to ‘Queen Tara’ for our dinner. Due to the weather, we are unable to spot the sunset. Even so we have great companions for our dinner and stunning view of Tonle Sap Lake!

It was a nice evening that surpassed our expectations. A pickup was organised from our hotel promptly even though we booked the tour just that afternoon. They showed up on time at 3.30pm. Mr Wa introduced himself, well spoken and happy to answer questions. We went into a smaller boat that took us through the floating village. It is a nice experience, clean and breezy. We headed onto the Queen Tara, the cruiser that is marvel herself, built in 1927. She is retiring gracefully. Food is great. Good vegetarian fare was lovely to meet other travellers and mingle.

Prompt pick up from my hotel. Stopped at a lotus farm, very pretty. Made our way to the small boat and started the tour through the lake. Eye opening to see how these people live in this floating village. Finally, onto the Tara boat where we were warmly welcomed and were able to order drinks and mingle with the other guests. Dinner buffet was ready very quickly and was tasty. Sunset stole the show. Transportation was provided back to the hotel.
