I decided to try a desert safari because this is the thing that everyone visiting Dubai especially for the first time must try. Moreover, as mostly a city dweller, I have never seen and experience a desert before which makes it more interesting. I decided to book Khat tours mainly because of the positive reviews. So I reach out to them to arrange a private tour as it allows me to better control the tempo and itinerary.
My guide/driver was Sharaf and we set off in a very comfortable land cruiser. Along the way, Sharaf share his stories and experience about Dubai having live here for 20+ years. Have to say the tour is rather enjoyable and the sand bashing driving through the desert is particularly exciting. Sort of like a roller coaster through the sands as the car banks left and right climbing the dunes. I was quite concerned the car will topple over during the ride but my driver was very experienced so no worries. The weather in the desert was surprising cool and not as hot as I expected and the views were beautiful.
The only negative in the tour was the camp site where we had our dinner and enjoy some live fireworks performance at the end of the tour. The food was rather mediocre to be honest as its mass produced to cater to the crowd. The live performance with dancing and fire works were very good but rather short, wish it had been longer. The toilets were very dirty and un-usable, not to mention slippery and can be dangerous. I understand the camp site is run by a 3rd party company but perhaps Khat tours could have chosen a better one.
All in all still a fun tour and the sand bashing was worth the price alone.

This tour was exactly what we wanted out of the day. The ATVs were so much fun and Sudeesh was incredibly skilled at dune bashing and made for a great guide. On the way to the camp, you pass a few others that are crowded and gimicky, but once you arrive at the camp it’s clear this is not the same. The food was great and entertainment was fun. If you’re looking for something more private and less touristy it is definitely worth the additional cost for a nicer camp. Highly recommend

Mr Chandran did a great job, he even included experiences for my boys we hadn't initially planned which they loved. We brought an 11 month old but were still able to get the full and very importantly also a safe experience.
Camels, falcon show, dune bashing, sand boarding and desert sunset viewing. All the things we wished for! Thank you Mr Chandran and Khat tours, I highly recommend this tour company, and especially for families since it's hard to find tours that allow small kids for a reasonable price with great quality!

Our tour guide Safzal was amazing we had such a lovely time on the desert safari. Safzal was very informative and pointed out all the major attractions as we drove along the motorway. He drove very carefully on the sand dunes as we had a toddler with us. The camp itself was very nice the BBQ buffet was very tasty and the entertainment was good too. I definitely recommend this tour company and having Safzal as your tour guide it is worth paying a bit extra for a private car. Thank you for all your help Safzal and making our desert safari enjoyable

We had an amazing experience on our Desert safari with Khat Tours . Safsal our tour manager and guide for the Safari was brilliant with his driving skills in the dunes and very considerate with the needs of our young child . He also ensured we had a VIP treatment at the camp , where we had preferred seating and all the food and drinks served at our table, our vegetarian dietary preference were well taken care off . The entertainment specially the Tanura dance was world class . Overall a must do and a great experience for the family .

We did the evening desert safari on jan 1st.. It was a rainy day, But dune bashing was really fun. We enjoyed alots, land cruiser driver Mr. Chandhu khat ( You can see in the photo he is with us ) he made our evening well. And the yamaha quad bike was so good as head gear protection also they provided.. Finally we went to camp. camel ride was so funny and we laugh alots. And the food was so tasty especially Falafel and We got soft drinks items supposed to be free in the package...entertainment was so premium level. So it was really exciting experience and our driver was really experienced. Highly recomended.

Great evening desert Safari tour experience! We really enjoyed the dune bashing on the Land Cruiser. Our driver Sudsheeh is a great driver and he was very professional, kind and patient with us. He also helped taking nice pictures on the red dunes. Lot’s of fun driving the quad bike and buggie car in the desert dunes! Included in the package also sandboarding and a fun camel ride. Dinner at the camp was great with very nice entertainment: fire dance, belly and tanoura dances. The tour package is really worth it and highly recommend!

Firstly, I would just like to Thanks Safsal for the whole experience from start to finish!
I came across Khat Tours on trip advisor as I was concerned on whether I should book a dessert safari with my toddler. I had read reviews on how safe, friendly they are and how they cater the private dessert safari to your needs. An most of all it was a bargain, the price Khat tours offered was brilliant as my hotel quoted me 3 times more!!!
I must say after returning from the dessert safari experience, I can vouch for the tour group especially our driver Safsal who is a real gentleman. He advised us on what to do at each place, he ensured a carseat was available for our little 2yr old, he made sure she was safe and happy at all times which inevitably made it a great fun night for my husband and I.
I really wish I had more time in Dubai so I was able to book more excursions with Khat tours. Insha Allah when I visit Dubai again I will definitely be booking all my tours with them.

We had a terrific time while on desert safari with Chandu. First off, he is very warm and friendly, we enjoyed getting to know him a bit, and his vehicle is very nice, super comfortable. The desert is so interesting, the light at sunset is especially incredible. We loved visiting the camels and engaging with the baby ones. The camel ride was great, and the BBQ with dancing was really fun. Also two of us got henna, the woman doing that was so sweet. All in all we had a great time and recommend this trip!

Very nice excursion to the desert of Dubai. We booked a private car for two people. Sudheesh was our tour guide, he was very friendly and adapted the activities to our preferences. Me and my wife get motion sick easily, so we opted for less driving in the desert and more stops. We made a lot of nice pictures. BBQ at the camp was also good. Highly recommended to book with this company!
