We went with the ‘Dubai: Adventure Quad Bike Safari, Camel Ride & Refreshments’ predominantly for the quad biking. It was my first time quad biking (I kept up and survived 😊) and my partner, who has been quad biking many times before, really enjoyed it which is saying something as he likes/does off-roading (motocross, 4x4 off-roading, general greenlaning, etc) (and most likely because he was showing off and riding circles around me! 😂). We’d like to thank Taymour for the hotel pick up and drop off, for guiding us around the desert dunes and the mini activities (camel ride and sand boarding), for being photographer and generally looking after us! The guide picked me up before the scheduled time and did not personally greet me or any of the other pick ups until we were all on the bus and on our way. That felt odd and unwelcoming. The guide was fine but the commentary was often on things about money and the cost of things. We stopped at the Louvre Museum for a photo and I wished I had picked a tour with a visit to it. I would have enjoyed that more than the Etihad Tower. The Imperial Palace is impressive as a monument to convert wealth and power. My favorite part was the area about the contribution os the Arabs throughout history but it was a small part of the building. The building is just for show and I guess I felt something was m missing. Mostly people were taking selfies. The Mosque is beautiful and I am very glad I saw it. Be prepared for crowds! the tour met the description. I think I just picked the wrong tour. We booked the "Premium Red Dunes, Camel Safari & 3 Cuisines Buffet at Al Khayma Camp" tour and opted for a private car since we were traveling with two small children and did not want to experience very extreme dune bashing. The service from the hotel pick-up to the drop-off was exceptional. I particularly want to highlight our guide and driver, Sajith, who was very professional and always attentive to any issues. He provided us with invaluable information about Dubai, the UAE, and many topics of interest. As I told him, he seemed like a living encyclopedia 😁. I also want to acknowledge the attention and care provided by Hakim at the camp; he was attentive at all times to ensure we lacked nothing. He even went to fetch the kids who were playing in the dunes at dinner time; and provided me a charger for my phone as I ran out of battery, we truly felt very well cared for at all times 😁.
In conclusion, I recommend this tour for its good organisation ; they don't use camps shared with other tours, and the food is of great quality.

Our excursion guide. Saleem, made a great afternoon coordinated by OceanAir Travels an AMAZING Experience!! He cares about his client’s experience from the moment they step in his vehicle to the drop off back home.
Saleem arrived early to pick me up, the tour vehicle was spotless inside and out, chilled water was provided and a safe, smooth ride brought me to all the points of the tour.
Saleem prepped all the clients in the vehicle for the events and schedule of the afternoon, made sure each person/group was safe during the ATV ride, even recognizing one of our party was not feeling well halfway through the dune ride. OceanAir thoughtfully had a company vehicle in the area where the client could finish out the ride in the air conditioning and away from the sun, and Saleem made sure the client was comfortably inside the tour vehicle before we continued on with the dune ride.
Saleem planned out a one-of-a-kind stop just at sunset so we could get amazing pictures before reaching the dinner camp. This was just one example of Saleem’s attention to detail and understanding the client’s desires… a superior quality in a customer service position that makes Saleem the best!
OceanAir Travels has a superbly coordinated system for taking care of all the clients throughout the day and curates an evening to remember in the desert! The food, drinks, entertainment and setting were perfect! There’s even a special Arabian surprise toward the end!
I recommend OceanAir Travels to everyone for this Desert Safari, and make sure you ask to have Saleem be your guide! He is the gold standard for tour guides!

Sultan top guide, he assisted us even before we met, asking us precisely where he should pick us up. Once we arrived under our cruise ship, he immediately offered us fresh water and took us to a camp in the middle of the desert super equipped with quads and buggies, we decided to take the buggy, €270 for four people we drove in the middle of the desert dunes guided by a camp guide on a Quad, once we returned they offered us cold drinks and dates, if we wanted there was also tea or coffee. After the tour with the buggy Sultan took us on a tour of the desert on a fantastic safari in the middle of the dunes, also showing us some little camels that had just been born and with a short stop in the middle of the desert to give us an experience of snowboarding on desert dunes. After the Safari, he took us to another camp with an oasis in the desert and first of all they offered us both tea chai and coffee. immediately afterwards they offered us a super tasty typical Arab lunch which amazed us including drinks and water. After lunch there was a short show and then Stan asked us if we wanted to take a ride with the camels and take photos with the falcons, everything ended with a hookah at sunset overlooking the desert. After all this day Sultan accompanied us back to the ship. Congratulations to Sultan for his professionalism.

Every aspect of this trip was incredible. The activities/packed itinerary, the desert camp and performances, the food, the service, and our host, Dennis, who you could tell was so passionate about Dubai and what he does.
You are looked after from the minute you step foot in the car that picks you up at your accommodation. Dennis was a great mix of fun/talkative/knowledgable, while also being very clear on the rules and focused on our safety.
This resulted in a very relaxed, smooth running experience in what was a jam-packed itinerary. Make sure to take a quad bike each - it is worth paying extra for this - and you will get plenty of opportunities for instagram-able photos and videos. You get water/refreshments throughout and Dennis (as well as everyone we spoke to from Ocean Air Travels) was a whizz with taking pictures from our phones. You can go at your own pace during this experience, and opt out of anything you feel uncomfortable with, but this is also great if you love action/fun-filled activities.
We caught the sunset on the way to the camp, stopping and taking some pictures, and then learned lots about Dubai’s history and Emirati culture.
The camp surpassed our expectations. We thought it would be more like a few tents in the middle of nowhere, but the place was high-end, beautiful, and had lots to do. Everything tasted good, the freshly made bread and milk-based chai are a must. The performances, especially the fire performance, were incredible. All of the staff were friendly and on-hand to help you if you need it. The camp is in a nature reserve so you can see animals nearby.
Our only gripe (if you can call it one) was that we were not able to do everything there. Time flew and we were enjoying each thing we tried. We didn’t do the overnight stay, but that sounds fantastic and we will definitely try this next time we’re in Dubai.
As someone who can be a bit pessimistic/suspect about packaged activities like this when on holiday, questioning if it’s worth the money, especially when you will spend a lot in Dubai… you have to factor this into your trip when you visit… and request Dennis.

If you are in Dubai, a desert tour is definitely part of it. We decided to book a tour with OceanAir Travels through GetYourGuide. First of all, yes you spend some of the specified time with the arrival and the return transfer (about 50min each way depending on the hotel location), but that unfortunately cannot be avoided. If that bothers you, you should not book this tour. We deliberately booked the morning shorter tour (9.00 am) because we "only" wanted the desert experience and had less desire for the BBQ, so this tour was optimal for us. The pickup was made by our guide Diaa on time, as previously agreed via WhatsApp. It should also be mentioned positively that we booked the tour only one day before. Once at the camp, we had to wait a minute. Since you drive in convoy through the desert, you have to wait at this point for those passengers who want to make the quad ride. However, the waiting time passed quite quickly. Falcon photo, toilet trip, refreshment with drinks. Then it finally started, but only briefly. After the first few minutes of driving, which were already a good taste of the coming ride, the camels were waiting for us. Ascended, walked a short lap (about 10 minutes including photo stop) and back again. But now the fast-paced ride should really begin. It was so much fun and we felt safe at all times. Our two sons (7 and 10 years) also loved it super. Also the sandsurfing in between was super fun and our guide was very helpful. During the fast-paced ride, matching Arabic music played. Travel time about 15 minutes until surfing, then about 15 minutes surfing and then another 15 minutes back to the starting point!
We were worried before Booking Referral that it might get too warm in the morning, but that was not so. But it was very windy, which is why it was a good Recommendation of our guide to buy shawls (AED40/per shawl). We wore short clothes contrary to the Recommendation, we were well filled with sand afterwards, but that probably cannot be avoided. Overall it is definitely great value for money and we would book the tour again at any time. Thumbs up also for our guide Diaa. Thank you for the experience.
P.S.: We had breakfast before and had no problems with the stomach! But this is probably very individual to look at. 😉

We made the excursion on Thursday the 14th and our guide was Ali.
The company sent us a WhatsApp saying that the hotel pickup was at 14:30-14:45h. Our first surprise started when the guide wrote to us at 13:45 saying that the pickup was at 14:10h and was calling us 4 times to go down to the reception.

The Dubai Red Dunes ATV, Camels, Stargazing & 5* BBQ Al Khayma Camp is a must to do if you enjoy getting outdoors. The trip was well managed and our driver/guide (Shan) was excellent. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel – also you don’t have to endure (or spend) a lot of hotel stops picking up/dropping off people as the SUV only holds 6 passengers plus the driver. The SUV was clean and in great condition. Shan was excellent in explaining the events of the trip and ensured we were able to maximize our time doing what we wanted to do. He also was great at conversation in answering questions in general, very engaging person and very personable. Dune riding in the SUV was great, ridding a camel, holding a falcon and looking at Saturn/Jupiter/Venus through the microscope was cool, sand boarding was fun, the dinner was extensive, the stage performances were entertaining and driving a Polaris RZR (cost not included in tour but worth it) across the dunes was a blast. In all, the tour/trip was very entertaining and worth it!

Our desert safari experience was absolutely unforgettable, and much of that was thanks to our fantastic guide, Salman.
From the moment we were picked up, he was friendly, professional, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the journey.
Salman’s knowledge of the desert and Dubai was impressive. He shared fascinating insights about the wildlife, royals, and the history of the area, all throughout our experience. His driving skills during our mini ‘dune bashing’ were top-notch, giving us an adrenaline rush while still ensuring that everyone felt secure.
Beyond the thrilling ride, Salman was also very attentive to our needs. He made sure we stayed hydrated, took plenty of photos, and even stopped at the best spots for us to take in the stunning sunset. At the camp, he guided us through all the activities, from camel riding to trying out traditional Arabic food, and always had a smile on his face.
His passion for the desert was contagious, and he made sure we had a fun, informative, and safe experience. I highly recommend booking a tour with Salman if you're looking for an authentic and memorable desert adventure!

The entire experience was amazing and would definitely recommend.
Our group was 4 x girls age 18-20, and a particular shout out to our tour guide - Sam. He was very helpful + respectful, he explained very thoroughly instructions on how to use the quad bikes and sand boards, and anytime someone got stuck in the sand would help straight away.
He also doubled as our photographer each time we asked so now we have hundreds of photos to remember the experience thanks to him.
All up the experience is split into two parts - sand dunes & camp.
Riding the quad bikes requires a head scarf, which you can either bring or purchase for $50aed, together with jeans as the engine gets very hot. We had a fantastic time on the bikes together and would definitely recommend. We also did sand boarding and Sam took photos of us with the bikes. It was 42 degrees so maybe not the best month to go but we were provided with plenty of water by Sam so we ended up okay.
After the sand dunes, we drove to the camp about 30 minutes away where there were a variety of activities and we were served wonderful food in the form of a buffet with Moroccan, Emirati and Arabic cuisine. The food was wonderful and so were the shows, particularly the fire show.
There was also a stall where we watched someone make sand art which we found very interesting. When the night ended, Sam drove us all back and even let us DJ while he drove.
Overall 10/10 and would definitely recommend.

Amazing day! Very good value for the money we paid with lots of activities included… quad biking, sandboarding, camel riding, star gazing, sunset watching along with evening dancing entertainment and a bbq buffet. We got picked up from our hotel on time with easy communication beforehand. The quad biking was the best experience, I would recommend choosing the single quad bike tour. This was followed by the Sandboarding and camel riding. The bbq buffet for the evening meal was excellent, a wide variety of food and drinks with something for everyone. Thank you to Tariq, our tour guide for the day. I would highly recommend this desert tour, 5 stars!!!
