I had a layover in Dubai. My travel companion was going on to London and I was going to New York. My friend's flight was almost right away but I had a whole afternoon and evening, and wanted to get out of the airport to see the city. I researched my options and found with locals Communication with Sandy and Jose beforehand was very easy, and I felt very comfortable making the arrangements to meet up. Sandy picked me up at the airport and gave me a tour of Old Dubai, New Dubai, and per my request customized it to finish with the fountain show before taking me back to the airport with plenty of time before my flight. It was extremely hot in Dubai at that time, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to go out and visit on my own with the heat and humidity. Having the opportunity to tour in a comfortable, air-conditioned van was amazing. I had the opportunity to take lots of pictures and walk around local sights (while also being able to go back to the van to cool down and move on to the next stop). I'm really glad I found out about this opportunity because I believe this tour really gave me a chance to get to know Dubai despite only being in Dubai for a layover! My favorite part was the food tasting -- it was so delicious, I got seconds!!

I had two days free and scheduled a tour to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, old and new, with Sandy. I had an excellent tour of both cities. Sandy was very knowledgeable about the history of Dubai. He was flexible with the time and the locations we visited. After the first day's tour to Abu Dhabi, Sandy recommended that I see the mall and Burj Khalifa that evening. The next day, Sandy asked me if I had made it to the mall and the Burj Khalifa. I told him I was too tired that evening. To my surprise, at the end of the second-day tour, Sandy told me to visit the mall, the Burj Khalifa, and several other locations instead of dropping me off at my hotel. He went the extra mile to ensure I had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend using them as your tour guide while in Dubai.

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. Sandy met us at the Airport with a fantastic smile right on time. We were taken to a brand-new Toyota which was luxurious, met the driver who was wonderful the whole tour. We not only saw the old and new of Dubai, but we also had a boat trip across to the canal. Before the boat ride he introduced us to a "not so spicy" kebab, which was delicious. The number of photos we got was incredible as the driver kept stopping at all the top spots. We encourage to book Sandy & Jose for a tour especially a "Night Tour", best way to see Dubai. We had a 11-and-a-half-hour layover, it certainly made the time go by having this tour. Thank You both again.

I did a layover tour with Sandy in Dubai in May 2024 and really enjoyed it! There was clear communication prior to my arrival and Sandy and the driver were there when I landed. We went to several different landmarks in the span of 7 hours and Sandy was able to keep the conversation going all day, which I appreciated. I enjoyed hanging out with Sandy and learnt so much about Dubai and the UAE. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to discover Dubai in a short period of time. We have booked a foodtour in the old part of Dubai with Kasim which was then led by Melwyn. Being very friendly and open-minded, gave us interesting insights into traditional food and cultural aspects of the country. We quickly got into a lively exchange with him. The food locations were very well selected and covered the Arabian cousine. The tour was anything but hurried and Melwyn even dropped us off at the metro station after the end of the tour. Overall, a fully recommended tour with Melwyn!

My work friend and I made a fairly last-minute decision to put our 12+hour layover in Dubai to good use. The algorithm brought me to Withlocals and to Sandy, and I am so very happy it did!! Sandy met us upon arrival at DBX and we were whisked away to Old Dubai and pretty quickly found ourselves immersed in the old souks of Dubai. This tour was incredibly thoughtfully laid out and a perfect combination of history, food sampling, shopping opportunity, culture, and architecture. We had the most amazing experience and felt comfortable and safe the entire time. Now, we have had the whirlwind tour, we want to come back for a longer trip. Don’t hesitate to book with these guys. We had Sandy and a wonderful driver and they were both wonderful and accommodating and so thoughtful. The tour is great and Sandy knows so much about Dubai. Just don’t hesitate to go with them. They are fantastic (and I’m an ex travel journalist!)

On vacation I want to make the most of my time, I appreciate well organisation and punctuality, a busy day with lots of information and experiences to take back. I got all I wanted!! Communication from the beginning was easy and the right amount of sharing was done. Sandy was very helpful in customising a second excursion and we really enjoyed his proposals for day 2. Even though it was Ramadan the places we visited have been lively and mostly open. And a spontaneous workaround for the ones that had been closed was found. We enjoyed the private walk and taste tour and the little shopping that was involved !!! And we also enjoyed the private dessert safari with quad bike add on (suggest to always go outside of the gate into the real dunes with a guide!) Thanks for a wonderful experience to both of you!

Ali was an amazing guide! He responded quickly to my questions and listened carefully to what I wanted to do. He made sure it was all possible. He arrived early for both tours (I booked him for two days) and his car was super clean and comfortable. He’s an excellent driver too. Would highly recommend seeing Dubai and/or Abu Dhabi with Ali!

We did the streetfood tour with Sandy in January and a had a great time. The range of food was excellent and the opportunity to visit the older parts of Dubai left us with some amazing memories. Sandy is a great tour guide and wonderful human being. He made our trip to Dubai very special and a big thank you to him for all that he did. We will go back to Dubai again and we will book more tours with him.

We were not able to make the tour because Ali the tour guy gave us incorrect information. It took us over 2 hrs from our hotel to get to the destination and he said it would be 30 mins. He yelled and told us off after. We did not make this tour and he refused to refund our money.

We had a great tour with Suqlain while visiting Dubai. My kids were not super interested in the history but Suqlain was able to keep them engaged through the tour. There is a lot of history in Dubai and a lot of little fun facts that we had no clue about so this was a great way to gain some insights. Highly recommend to use with locals and Suqlain specifically if you are in Dubai. With locals also helps coordinate many other activities which makes it really amazing because you can pretty much customize it to fit your needs.

We had a very good overview of Dubai by night . It just wasn’t a drive through tour. We stopped at places where it was better to walk to absorb the atmosphere and also got to do a little boat ride . I highly recommend the Dubai night tour for people who have a long layover in Dubai

We thoroughly enjoyed our one day tour of Dubai with Sandy as our guide and his skilled driver. They proudly showed us the Jems of the city while giving us the background and some depth of understanding. He was open to adjusting the itinerary, kept a close eye on our wandering troupe, and showed us some spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. The restaurant he selected for us for lunch was in a beautiful patio over the “creek” and served local food at reasonable prices. If you want to go inside the frame, Burj tower, water park, Museum of the future etc, get your tickets well ahead of time and go on your own as you wouldn’t need a guide and there still will be line ups. But to get around the city and see landmarks and great markets etc, these guides are amazing. Nice van too with AC.

I cannot thank these guys enough! I came over with my elderly mother and I worked out an itinerary with them beforehand. Sandy and Ranju arrived promptly each day and couldn't have been more helpful. My Mum struggled to get into their car but by the time we had visited the Mosque (the first stop, on the first day), Ranju had got a step to help her get in and out. What service! Nothing was too much trouble. Ranju was the calmest and smoothest driver and what Sandy didn't know about Abu Dhabi wasn't worth knowing! I would not hesitate to recommend these guys and will certainly be contacting them if we travel to the UAE again.
