Timely pick up from our hotel. We were drove out of Dubai and then we change our vehicle to a bus. After about 2h on the road we crossed the border with Oman (all went very swiftly as company arranged all the documents on our behalf). We took a boat and sailed out. Beautiful views, very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were attentive and providing us with drinks. Once we anchored the boat, they took us out further on a speed boat. Views were amazing. We stopped to get the banana ride ready. I had a strange gut feeling and didn’t want to go first. Told my hubby we will wait for the second round. The ride was fast and seemed fun and then the boat guy dropped them off the banana ride. All part of the plan right? Except that one lady hit the other one with her head and she had a split lip (really badly). There was blood everywhere. The injured lady seemed to loose consciousness and had to be helped back on the motorboat. We helped her and her family to stop the bleeding with towels and we were telling the guy to take her to hospital asap. We went back to the big boat and the guy brought over 1st aid kit.. now I’m not being funny but you can’t use bandaid on a wound like that!! They eventually took the lady and her family back to the port on a speedboat. Rest of us just tried to enjoy ourselves. We did snorkelling, kayaking and sunbathing. Despite the accident we had a really good time. They have provided hot lunch and it was delicious (good choice of veg and non-veg dishes). We got back to the port late afternoon. The Italian family we’re back on the bus and the injured lady was there! 40 stitches on her lip but safe and with her family. We were so happy to see her.
We drove back to Dubai and we were back at our hotel after about 3h.
Despite the accident, it was a wonderful trip. I took one star away as staff were clearly not trained in first aid. Accidents happen but how you react to them really matter.

If you are in any of the emirates and looking for a day trip, this one should be one of the first few. Inexpensive, well organized and can be arranged easily. We booked it using a travel agent, but local contacts are plenty. However, don't travel unplanned as it takes paperwork to cross the UAE borders as the Dibba corner falls under Oman. No implications for single / multiple entry tourist visas.

A very well organised cruise, starting from the moment we were picked up to when we finally got back to the hotel. The guys on the boat couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. So why not 5-stars? Well I have to say that the scenery of Oman is basically cliffs and rocks and little else. A great experience overall though. Would I recommend it to others? Yes. Would I do it again? No.

The boat trip itself wasn't bad but far from being as good as what it seemed on the description.
The organization was bad. We didnt hear from them so we had to call the night before to ask about pick up time.
They picked us up at 7.15 am and we didnt get to the boat untill 12:30 (5hours of picking up other passengers and then driving to Oman).
The welcome food were some cheap juices and some fruit and cookies. By the time we got our spot on the boat all food was gone.
There were a lot of russians on our group, and turned out our guide was russian too. So we never knew what was going on or understood any information he gave about the landscape. Despite this we did enjoy time there, swimming and chilling on the boat. Lunch was pretty average.
5:30 we started to drive back to the hotel, we got there at 9:15 (almost 4h drive again).
So the full day cruise by boat was actually like 9h drive and 5 on a boat.
We will remember this as an adventure, but for sure not something we recommed or would do again.
Looking at the description and what we thought we were getting we felt SCAMMED.

The tour has four downside
1. The tour take about 3 hours including pick up and drive to the destination. And Its pick up and drop off service is not organized well. It does first pick up and last drop off. So if you are scheduled to be picked up first. You will spend 1-2 hours more than other guests in the van
2. Its activity is not well organized. It has speed boat, banana boat and beach for the activities. The tour guide said he will call when the activity is ready to go but he didn’t do this which made me missing the banana boat activity
3. There are a lot of flies around the food it provided. Not sure the food is clean or not
4. The driver turned on a bright blue light in the van when the sky went dark when we returned. This made me extremely uncomfortable.
Besides all the things above, the tour is very boring. Long travel long time in the van and the view is the same everywhere

You’ll know I like a boat ride on my Birthday....
So I may be biased but......
1) It’s a long day with a long coach ride from Dubai that’s the only downside.
2) The ride itself let us see some things that we wouldn’t have seen if we’d stayed in the city.
3) The border crossing into Oman was a bit protracted but..... we visited another country!!
4) The dhow was great - lovely scenery - good crew - lots to do. 5 activities when we stopped: swimming, snorkelling, trip to beach, speedboat ride & banana boat ride then a good lunch and a stop for fishing with hand lines before returning to port, and a coach ride home

We started our day with a 7am pick up (we were staying on the palm) we were collected by Rasnat & Roddy who are both great blokes. We collected at various other hotels and then hit the highway and headed to Oman. It is a long journey, but we saw the plus side, we got to see all of the sights of Dubai whilst collecting, and the scenery on the drive to Oman is beautiful. We arrived at the boat at around 10:30 and from that moment on it was total relaxation & fun. The crew were great, very attentive, bringing round drinks, fruit, cookies for snacks. There was an unlimited flow of drinks and snacks if you wanted them. The sea/beach are Stunning. We snorkelled, banana boated, jumped from the boat, there was a small speed boat in the water at all times to ferry you to/from the beach and the sea caves. Lunch was served (it was yummy) and there was about another hour for swimming before setting off round to white cliff which is again, stunning. After this there was a stop for fishing before the eventual cruise back to port. We made a couple of toilet stops on the way back. I was actually so relaxed, I slept most of the journey home. We arrived back at our hotel by about 9:30 but that was largely due to Dubai traffic which is something you learn to live with in Dubai. Overall a fantastic day. Worth the few hours of collection/travelling. Thank you to the drivers and the crew from Sky musandam tourism for such a great day. Highly recommended

Travelling 2.5 hours out of Dubai into the Omani mountains. 2 hour boat ride along the coast of the Persian Gulf to a secluded bay where we could go to the beach, snorkel, swim, go on the speed boat, and/or have fun on the banana boat. A lot of fun and a good relaxing day after the hassle and bustle of Dubai.

We booked this tour without knowing much about it but it turned out to be amazing. From crossing the land border between UAE and Oman, to seeing the caves, coves and landscape of beautiful Oman, swimming in to sandy beaches, diving off the Dhow and driving through 6 of the Emirates we saw a lot. Crew were friendly, pick up and drop off excellent and there was plenty of good food at lunch. Crew went out of their way to may your experience good. We went with Mussandam Day Tours via Viator and there were very good value. You can pay lots of different prices for the same tour so shop around!

Is there bottled water through the day available? Or do we need to bring our own?
Is it a bad idea to bring good camera for photos of landscape (we would bring water proof one as well or instead) but should we leave dslr at home?

we were collected from the palm and we collected from several different hotels all over Dubai so I don't think it'll be a problem :)
