We had a great time at the desert buggy Safari!
John was our driver and he picked us up very friendly and uncomplicated and told us a lot about Dubai. Hussein, our guide was also super friendly and took a lot of great pictures of us.

It was a great experience to ride quad bike.Desert was very clean and safe to ride a bike. Our guide Ataullah is friendly guy and very informative. Once in a life time we should ride quad in the desert..Thoroughly enjoyed the trip...Thanks Ataullah

We had a great morning, first driving the quad bikes was so much fun, then sand-boarding and Carmel ride. Our guide john was great, in the car ride to the desert he informed us with a lot of knowledge on Dubai and the Emirates. Would highly recommend the great experience. The guides took photos of us throughout the experience on my phone which was good we could just enjoy it.

We were picked up by a very friendly driver and taken to the dessert however on arrival, the staff were quite rude.
The main part - the self driving buggy tour was not as expected - for those expecting adrenaline and fast driving this is not for you! We didn’t drive faster than 30km/hour! The tour guide stopped at the bottom of every hill so we had no choice but to go extremely slowly!
Although the staff and driving let the tour down, the evening entertainment, food and experience of being in the dessert was good and the reason for the 2 stars!

We decided to do the buggy self drive as we thought it would be more exciting than being in the 4x4. How wrong were we, as soon as we get to the location we get told a number of rules telling us that all we could basically do is to follow in a line, no sliding/drifting and no hard accelerating. Apparently this is due to regulations and tires popping out of the rim which is obviously a lie as why wouldn’t they apply to the 4x4 dune bashing? Also, I have done this previously in other countries and this has never happened. The guide always stopped at the bottom of every dune to make sure that you had to brake on your way down so that you didn’t go “too fast”.
On a positive note, the driver that picked us up and then dropped us off at the hotel as nice and the food and entertainment was fine as well, although everyone else that we spoke to apart from him seemed arrogant and rude and it felt a bit like a sales pitch.
Overall, if you want a leisurely and calm ride (you will never exceed 30km/h/20mph) then you will probably enjoy it, if you want something more exciting than that, then give it a miss.
