          Solo US Woman💝
Breathing in the surrounding rice fields and peaceful energy of the school constructed with bamboo made it very special and uplifting! As a US solo woman traveler it was refreshing to be a part of a small group; a delightful couple from Australia:) I loved the Guide he infused playfulness into the experience as he explained the history of Laos and styles of weaving and basketry. He even went the extra mile with guiding us patiently with how it’s done! The cooking part with the bamboo shoots was so delicious and reminded me of the value of bamboo as a nutritional and renewable, resource to replace all the plastics! (Why not???) The mung musician and dancer was the star of the show! Such a gorgeous representation of Laos and the mung community with all its wonderful contributions!! Cup Chai lye lye!!(Thank you very much!!!)

          An interesting diversion
An interesting diversion from sight-seeing learning how to cook sticky- rice and weave bamboo. OK, we only made place mats but were given a frog to take way. Who knew you could cook so many dishes? Fortunately our efforts were supplemented by the resident cook.

          Great morning!
I had a great morning here learning all about the different ways they use bamboo in Laos. We then did bamboo weaving and made a little coaster each. I started to notice how much bamboo (and the technique we were taught) was used all around Laos. We then had a cooking class which was great, the food was the best I’ve had on my travels so far, lots to try. I would really recommend this activity to anyone.

          Stunning
Stunning experience giving us an insight into traditional daily life in the villages. The uses of bamboo were incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed the Bamboo weaving taking home a lovely coaster as a great souvenir. The cooking class was phenomenal and the food created was some of the best food we’ve had on our trip throughout Asia so far. Highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting a beautiful cultural experience.

A must do in Luang Prabang
Finding a cultural activity that will interest teenage boys can be challenging but our children (ages 16/13) were fully engaged at The Bamboo Experience. The welcome drink to begin the evening watching the sunset over the rice fields was a lovely gesture and our guides were thorough in their explanations of the uses of bamboo in Lao culture. We learned the techniques to create sticky rice and also how to weave a bamboo coaster! The cooking lesson was fun and interactive and we loved eating the wonderful food we created. To finish the evening we were lucky enough to watch a musical demonstration and also have a try of the instrument ourselves. Lastly was some traditional Lao dancing, our sons even had a try! We couldn’t recommend this experience enough and would encourage everyone to spend some of their time in Luang Prabang here. Thanks Si!

A ‘Must Do’ Luang Prabang Experience
The most wonderful experience! We visited here tonight and it was beautiful. There were four of us, my husband and I and two children aged 18 and 21. We all loved it! We enjoyed a welcome drink upon arrival and watched the sunset, the view is magnificent. We then experienced a traditional welcome, which was beautiful. Our dinner was authentic and lovely, We enjoyed traditional music. It was a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. We did not feel rushed at any time. I highly recommend this experience. It is a must when visiting Luang Prabang.

          Don't miss the Bamboo Experience
This is a delightful way to enrich your experience of Laos when you are in Luang Prabang. It is a chance to learn about traditional Lao culture through cooking and bamboo weaving. You can read guidebooks to Laos before you go to try to be a thoughtful traveler, but the Bamboo Experience gives you a direct, hands on way to experience the culture and the food that is far better than anything in a book. And it is delicious and fun.

One of our highlights from Laos
My mom and I had a really great day with the bamboo experience and we’re so happy we decided to do the tour. The communication with Somsay was very smooth and quick. We Pick up was on time and comfortable and we were pleased to see that it was a small group of five in total. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a cup of green tea. Somsay then told us about bamboo and how it’s used in Laos, we also got to see a wide range of different products. After the introduction we saw how they make sticky rice and got to try preparing the rice with a massive mortar and pestle, as well as winnowing. Later we observed how they prepare the bamboo and tried our hand at bamboo weaving. We also did a lovely mini-cooking class, tried homemade banana whiskey and saw a spectacular performance with the traditional Hmong bamboo instrument! I even got to try the instrument and bamboo dancing! A tasty lunch is included as well. The whole crew is super friendly, fun and welcoming. It was fun and felt very authentic. By doing this tour you will support locals, as the money is split between everyone involved. I would highly recommend doing this tour!

Where real culture meets tourism. Very special experience.
A must do when in Laos. Sai and his family were absolutely wonderful, it was beyond what we were expecting. The best fish we have ever eaten and the master weaver was so lovely and kind. The performance after lunch was a wonderful surprise. Thank you for the most perfect day! We will never forget.

          Really Fantastic!
Incredible experience! We learned how deeply bamboo is integrated into Laotian life, culture and cuisine. We got to try our hand at basic weaving, cooking gourmet Laotian dishes and entertained by a master bamboo musician. Wonderful!🙏

I really wanted to take a cooking class with an authentic experience and this class checked those boxes and more. It was just me and another solo traveler and we had the most wholesome time. We got to go to the market, partake in a Laos traditional ceremony, weave a coaster, cook in their amazing outdoor kitchen with a beautiful view of the sunset, eat our delicious food and then listen to one of the monks play the Caan (large wind instrument traditional to their culture.) It was a great time and I hope to bring my friends and family back here:)

Honestly, when it comes to any learning/activity experience, I am not easy to be pleased because I have experienced a lot already. But this one is something really special.

The moment Sai (the owner) picked us up, I already felt his sincere, kind and positive aura. For me, good connection between people is highly essential, and that's what I felt the moment I stepped into his car.

Then I arrived at his bamboo farm, and that's when my whole being got sold.
Honestly the cooking class, delicious food, the bamboo activity, the purity of the ex-monk bamboo teacher, the musical entertainment of a 19y/o Laotian tribe and Sai's beautiful family are extraordinary bonuses for me. The entire package is something really special, that's why I am looking forward to go back to gain a next level program.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Sai and to your wonderful team.
May we remain friends and connected.

        Sincerely,
        Carmela (from everywhere)

The most rewarding and spectacularly genuine, and generous experience.
Tourism can sometimes ruin a place or degrade culture overtime, but through a tour like this you can invest in making tourism culture-centric, enjoy the skills, knowledge and heart of the people of the place you’re visiting. The meal alone is enough to book, the best food we’ve had in Lao but on top of that a moving musical proformance too. Thank you Somsay (and our weaving coach, our cooking teacher, chefs and musical performers). Enjoy!

Amazing experience!! We did an evening class, by chance we were the only ones there. Sai, his wife, their helper, and the bamboo craftsman were so welcoming, friendly, informative, and passionate. The information was super interesting and Sai really made a point of connecting us to Lao Lowland culture. To top it off, the food was out of this world.
