      They forgot about us
I was in contact with Tony Phong starting a few weeks prior to our tour (Kayaking to Pak Ou caves, Villages and Kuang Si Falls). The initial process was professional with confirmation of the date, payment, and confirmation of our pickup time. This included multiple email exchanges. The reason for the 1 star was on the day of pickup, after the agreed on pickup time went by, I contacted Tony via WhatsApp inquiring on the delay. I had to remind him that I did book through this company which he appeared to have forgotten. They then called about 15 minutes afterwards saying the tour was cancelled and offered another tour instead. This tour was standard but appeared to be from multiple tours that were cancelled as the poor tour guide was asking everyone what their original itinerary was. Communication was the main factor that was disappointing. When he called, there was also no apology. He only stated that the tour was cancelled. Be aware that this can happen when booking with this company.

      Pretty scary
We thought we were just zip lining but it turned out to be a rope course too which we were not keen to do. One of the instructors smelt like alcohol. There were lots of biting ants on the trees on the platforms so be careful not to touch them! The “brake” for the zip line was a piece of tire you had to grip around the line. No gloves to protect your hands. It all felt unsafe. Part way through we refused to continue and they had to hoist us down with ropes. We were relieved to be back on solid ground.

      Bikerboys Hua Hin - Thailand
Our biker group from Hua Hin Thailand spent several days travelling through Laos in November. During this time, we were looked after by tour guide Sai Jaleunsouk, who did an excellent job. We travelled by train, minivan, boat, motorbikes were rented, etc. Everything was perfectly organised and Khun Sai was always prepared. Even when group members had problems, he was always ready to help and always found a solution. I would like to emphasise his friendliness and his genuine smile. We felt very comfortable in his presence and can highly recommend him as a tour guide and the travel agency.

Exceptional Service for a Memorable Laos Adventure!
Our recent 10-day journey through Laos, organized by this tour company, left an indelible mark on our hearts. As a group of nearly 30 people, including kids aged 3 to 17, we embarked on a trip that exceeded all expectations. Before the trip, the name "Laos" might have seemed low-key to our kids, but thanks to this company's dedication, we now have an abundance of beautiful memories to cherish. From the moment we crossed the border between Laos and Cambodia, we were met with continuous warmth and professionalism. The seamless transition throughout the journey, including an excellent recommendation for a tour guide in Thailand, showcased the company's attention to detail. Although the weather denied us the chance to witness the expected sunrises and sunsets on the Mekong River or from mountain summits, we found comfort in the coolness and togetherness that prevailed. The experience of living life in slow motion, observing the simple happiness of the Laotian people, left an unforgettable impression on us. Anong, our exceptional tour guide, was instrumental in making this experience special. His commitment to his homeland, vast knowledge, and heartwarming stories brought Laos to life. The affordability of everything in Laos, particularly the delicious food, amazed us. The emphasis on eco-friendly practices, like wrapping food in banana leaves instead of plastic, added to our appreciation. The bustling Luang Prabang morning market was a cultural delight. The Mekong River became our constant companion, allowing us to explore Laos in various ways — kayaking, fishing, and bamboo rafting. Covering more than a thousand kilometers of the river in Laos, this journey was made even more remarkable by the private transportation arrangements. The private boat from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai was exceptionally comfortable, reflecting the company's commitment to our comfort and unity. Anong, our guide, stood out with his dedication and enthusiasm. His personal story and extensive knowledge turned statues and temples into vivid tales. His concern for our safety, especially the kids, was commendable, and his willingness to go the extra mile left a lasting impression. His selflessness, even sacrificing his resting time for our enjoyment, was a testament to his dedication. As we look to the future, we are thinking of our return to explore more with this incredible company. Thank you for a remarkable journey that will stay with us forever. Your exceptional service truly made this a trip of a lifetime.

      Fascinating Day in Luang Prabang
Our family of 3 had a private tour with Anong as our guide. He was generous, energetic, and highly professional. He speaks perfect English. He has an extensive knowledge of the history and culture of Laos, so we learned a great deal from him. I have done some study of Buddhism, and was surprised and pleased to learn some things from him that I did not know during our final visit to a lovely small temple. Thank you, Anong!

The Guide made this excursion fantastic
Pong was a fantastic guide and made the excursion well worth it. He was able to explain each area we ventured to very well. I could have spent a whole day at Kuang Si Waterfalls, but the cruise along the Mekong was well worth it as well. There was a lot of food for the lunch buffet, with enough options for meat eaters and vegetarians/vegans to feel satisfied at the end. Water was supplied throughout the day, but there was opportunity to purchase beverages at Kuang Si if you wanted to. This tour is also offered with falls in the morning and Caves/Cruise in the afternoon.

Transfer from Vientiane airport to Vang Vieng and train from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang
We contacted this group tour for assistance in arranging a Transfer from Vientiane airport to Vang Vieng and to help us book the train from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang. His responses were quick and helpful in understanding what we needed to do. This agency uses its network to arrange for drivers and people to purchase the tickets. These things seem easy to arrange in other countries, but in Laos is not easy to do.

Rip off company using danderous vehicles
On the Viator website we booked a week in advance for a 10am transfer from Luang Prabang to Veng Vieng on a 45 seater "VIP" bus operated by Laos Group Tours, costing $57, which is nearly twice the price of a booked direct minibus. We had a previous bad experience on the local buses, so were willing to pay extra for a more comfortable 5 hour trip. On arrival at the bus station we are shown to a 15 seat old Toyota minibus which is half loaded with hot travellers who have been waiting an hour. We are told that this is our bus, no one can explain why there is no 45 seat bus. We have a hotel booked in Vang Vieng and we know we can't buy tickets for the train on the day - so we're screwed. It's this bus or $150 for a taxi, if we could get one. The bus has 18 passengers onboard - if you check out Laos Group Tours website, it shows nice shiny white Toyota vans stating there will be a "maximum of 15 travellers". I get a fold down seat by the door, someone else is sat on a cube that has been placed in the van. The van has a broken windscreen and the passenger sliding door is broken and can't be opened from the inside, so in the event of an accident, there's no way of opening it to escape. The "air conditioning" is useless and it's burning season so the air is acrid and opening the windows has little to no benefit. Viator, who we booked through have a good rating on Trustpilot, which is why we booked with them. Had we known that we wouldn't be on a 45 seat bus, we'd have booked the train in advance. We've been ripped off. Laos Group Tours website contains misleading information and their vehicles are not in a roadworthy condition. So, before you book with them, check what you're actually getting, because in our experience it's not what is on their website.

      Wish I’d got the train
Slated as door to door, confirmed twice on that point, and the driver did seem to drop the locals off at their doors, but then dropped the foreigners off as a group not at our respective hotels & hostels, just pulled out bags out the bus & drove off. Organiser did offer to come pick me and take me the rest of the way (which is the only reason this isn’t a lower scored review) but really should just have been actually door to door. Aside from that the drive was awful, took a very rural route where the road was actually being continually being built through a quarry, we sat stationary for an hour for this at one point then had to get out and walk through the dirt and dust up the hill because the bus couldn’t drive over the road with the passengers in the bus, and then the driver was driving quite recklessly round the curves and over the holes in the road after this point (presumably to try and make up some time)

      pretty, pretty, pretty bad
Driver was too lazy to go pick me up on the other side of the river (they proposed the hotel on the pick up options). Drives too fast on a very back road, the was very unpleasant.
