I contacted Phong months before my trip to Laos and he arranged all my airport transfers as well as day hikes, cooking classes, sunset cruises on the Mekong River, take a slow boat to Pak Ou Cave and transfer to Kuang Si waterfall. Everything was very efficient from the pick up at the hotel to the response to all my inquiries. Very, very helpful and since I am traveling alone this made my time in Laos much easier having almost everything organized from one place and in advance. Would definitely recommend this company to help with your travel plans.

The river cruise was very pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable. But the caves themselves were a disappointment. After climbing up many steps, what greets you is this dark cave that was rather short, you could see everything just standing by the stairs. Cave filed with lots if bug and small statues.
Kuangsi Falls was very nice and worth the trip. The blue/green pools and the rushing waters at different levels were pretty. Saw several people swimming and enjoying the nice cold water. Easy walk up.

I have booked several tours at Laos Group Tours. Ken and Tracy are very friendly and helpful with giving good advice about the tours. I have booked the Mekong Sunset cruise, a day with kayakking, the Pak Ou Caves and the Kuangsi waterfalls, as well as the buffalo dairy tour. Next time I am here, I will certainly book here again!! Thank you Ken and Tracy!

Hi Ms. May, Thank you for your 5* review with our service. I believe that you had a good time in Luang Prabang with Ken and Tracy also. We hope that you will have more fun trips in Indochina. Thank you so much! Thomas - Tour Operator of Laos Group Tours

This really was a day to right off for us when visiting beautiful Laos. We were picked up, squashed onto a bus and then spent an hour picking up other people. Then another half hour to some random place which was actually the traditional village but there was no communication and confusion if we were meant to be getting off the bus as other people were staying on (we now realise to do the elephant and kayaking trips). We then had our ‘wine tasting’ which was 3 shots of wine-no idea what they were as guide barely spoke. We were still a bit unsure what we were doing and whether to walk around but we did anyway but felt just as though we were killing 30 mins of time before going on the river boat. This was miserable too. Yes it was raining but no communication of where we were going (caves or waterfalls) or how long etc. Caves were ok but again, a lot of hanging around. Back on the boat then off in the mud (I nearly slipped several times-thankfully the boat driver helped me up the bank, no idea where our tour guide had gone) to have lunch which was some fish or vegetable stew and rice and chunks of pineapple. We were here for an hour and a half. Again just felt like we were wasting time and turns out we were just waiting for the elephant and kayaking tour people to finish and eat their lunches. I got bored of sitting so went and fed the elephants which were by the restaurant-this was probably the best bit of the day! We then made our excuses to leave and be driven back to the hotel as we didn’t want to waste anymore of our time and an afternoon of our precious time in Luang Prabang. We didn’t visit the waterfalls which was a shame but to be honest we were so wet and muddy and fed up by this point that we didn’t care. My advice is to avoid and just get a tuk tuk from the town yourself; you’d save time and money.

Different packages managed at the same time all together and therefore a lot of time wasted along the journey for this or that, "silent" guides that provide you very basic (or less than..) description of the places or activities: approximate service.
Need improvement!

Was quite a good day but in my case a bit all over the place. I was picked up late by one person, driven a few kms then the van stopped, out he says, another bus stops and Im ushered on to that with a bunch of other tour people, then stopped by the river and off I get and told to get on a boat with a different bunch of people (who I ended up doing the tour with) Dont get me wrong, I assume I ended up where I was supposed to but I had no idea what was going on! The trip down the Mekong was slow and picturesque, buffalo grazing, kids swimming etc then stopped at a little hill village on the way where we had a chance to wandert, toilet stop and purchase the villagers wares....some of which were very nice. Back on the boat to Pak Ou caves which were OK....lots of steps though! Back on the boat to a lunch stop, bit of a mixture of Western and Lao food, buffet style, was elephants there you could feed. Then it was back down the river to the van, back through Luang Prabang where we dropped off the half day people and we continued to Kuandg Si waterfalls. On the walk through you pass through the rescued bear enclosure (from Bile Duct Farming) and have achance to take photos or buy merchandise, then to the falls. There is a couple of shops and toilets if you need either and the falls themselves were pretty and cooling for a dip after the day.

We have bought our full day tour from GetYourGuide. Excellent customer service follow up from GetYourGuide and their local tour agent Laos Group Tour.
The package comprises of the 3 places to visit with an English speaking guide, with lunch and water during our trip and pickup at hotel.
The pickup time was puctual. However, for X reason, the driver stops for at least 30-45minutes (???).
The van was supposedly to be an aidcond one but it was very hot inside. When we arrive the Traditional village, the accompanying guy was unable to explain how the whisky is being produced locally. Here again, we feel losing our time as no English speaking guide.
It was only on the boat for Pak Ou Caves that an English speaking guide joins us. On the boat, we were finally offered a bottle of chilled water and that was the only one during the full day in a hot and humid weather. Nice place to visit. After, we proceed for lunch, nice place where there is an elephant sanctuary.
Last place to visit was the Kuang Si Waterfall, wonderful place not to miss.
From our experience, there is no real need for a guide and visit the 3 places at a cheaper rate, buying directly on place at Luang Prabang. The guide (nice guy) was with us only during the boat trip, he didn’t care accompanying the small group (about 12 pax) during our cave discovery.

The tour went exactly as planned. Went to a small village with local cloth products. While waiting for the other passengers, I had time exploring a temple nearby. Went to Pak Ou caves and it was really interesting to see several religious statues in the two caves. Also had the chance to feed the elephants after the sumptuous buffet lunch. After lunch, we went to Kuangsi waterfalls and was really amazed at the beauty of the place. Indeed this itinerary is complete and enjoyable

This tour bundles hi lights of the area. 1st stop at whiskey village for 1 hour was interesting but a little long (whiskey shots at 10 am is a bit early). Boat travel to pak su cave was very scenic, especially around rock mountain. The cave itself is a bit underwhelming. Lunch at elephant village was quite nice and we got to see some elephants. Then on to the waterfall which is truly a natural wonder and a great place to cool off for 90 minutes or so!

The boat ride was lovely - very relaxing in the traditional boat - the Pak Ou Caves were ' OK' - guess we are just not that into Buddhas but you don't stay too long. A good lunch and then to the waterfalls which was an absolute highlight ! I have writen a seperate review on the falls.
