- Travel609924705260 contributionsEnchanting Autumn dayWe booked a full day private tour from Bucharest. It was a long drive but beautiful weather and scenery with our interesting driver/guide made it enjoyable. First stop was Peles Castle. We were only able to view from the outside due to restorations in progress. It was still amazing. Then we visited the Monestery and Bran Castle. The crowds were manageable and moved quickly. A stroll through the city center finished off the day nicely. Brasov is a quaint, clean and picturesque destination. Definitely worth the long travel time. Our photos don't do it justice.Written December 9, 2024
- Pathfinder1142380 contributionsHappy travellersMy friend and I booked our tour online before arriving in Brasov. On the morning of the tour we were met by Bianca who was so friendly and full of local knowledge. There was one other traveller with us so were taken by car to each destination. So it was a small intimate group tour which was perfect. The full day was great and every stop along the way was fantastic. Bianca was fun, personable and made sure we were all happy throughout the 8 hours. We even had a visit to two churches at Sinaia and the local market in Bran for refreshments. Peles Castle was heaving with visitors even in November, so we only had time to see the downstairs. However regardless of this it was well worth the time and money to see such fantastic places with an enthusiastic local guide. Please note that Peles Castle was undergoing renovations so we didn’t get to see the full splendour of the outside. Rasnov Fortress was also closed for repairs however we got to see Râşnov from the viewing platform as the sun was setting and one of the courtyards without the walls. The citadel was not accessible. However this was out of the tours hands. Would recommendWritten November 24, 2024

- V793YIshirleym0 contributionsRoaming thru RomaniaThe guide..Bogdan was great..so informative about each place..we didn't make it to bukovina but the private tour was not included in your list..I saw so much and enjoyed every day..the guest houses and hotels were very comfortable..the vehicle was comfortable..I felt very safe with Bogdan maneuvering the mountain windy twisty roads...he was professional the whole trip and when I got sick one day he went out of his way to find me meds and I was fine after one day..all in all a really wonderful experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bogdan as a guideWritten October 5, 2024
- 410lyannev0 contributionsInteresting tour to learn more about Romania and it's beautiful placesThe trip was great and very interesting. Despite we couldn't visit Peles Castle, we had a wonderful day. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the places we visited, but also about Romania in general. The guide was very patient and spend a lot of time to explain everything to us. The tour was therefore a good value for money!Written October 5, 2024
- X754NEvictorb0 contributionsA lot to see!Overall the tour and the guide, Bogdan, were very good! We got to see all the sights listed with a pretty good commentary on the history of the places and were generally given plenty of time for pics or shopping. Bogdan was also very well connected which gave us access to the front of the line or much better parking, or being able to see locked rooms. Bogdan also provided some cool recommendations for our stay in Brasov, which is such a beautiful city. There were a few challenges. I wish the driving wasn't so fast since we were on many winding roads and we did a lot driving. Should note that something like 35-40% of the time you spend driving, it's just part of getting to all the sites. Some of the days got very long (~10hrs). The tour is probably more manageable with shorter days. We went during the summer, so it was super hot and the room in casa timar had no AC nor a fan, so we were taking many cold showers. It does get cooler at night, but it's a rough start. Finally, I've seen "private" be used for tours that have less than 10 people. But this is you, your guests and the tour guide only! Generally a good option if you are looking for a private tour with accommodation. Id reach out to the tour and ask questions. Bogdan is very approachable.Written July 8, 2024
- Jain C0 contributionsFascinating 7 day tour , brilliant Guide/driver. Definitely recommendWe have completed the seven day tour of Transylvania and Mutamures and Bucovona. Our driver was Alina and she was remarkable, very knowledgeable, a fabulous driver, bearing in mind all the mountains we had to go over. All the places we stayed at were first rate we had asked for twin bedded rooms with ensuite, and that’s what we had. In the guesthouses, the food was really lovely and traditional and in Brasov the owner of the guest house we were staying in directed us to a very good restaurant about 100 yards away, and we went to the nearby bakery for breakfast as the breakfast in Casa Timar in Brasov was not up to standard and like everywhere else. Bogdan, who is the owner of this company has put together a fantastic tour, and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Transylvania and RomaniaWritten June 23, 2024
- whirledgirl0 contributionsDefinitely recommend this guide and tourOur 4 day private tour around Transylvania with Bogdan of Transylvania Discovery Tours was excellent. These 4 days in Romania were the highlight of our Eastern European trip. The planning was well done and Bogdan was flexible for changes we wanted. Bogdan was very pleasant to talk with and he answered all our questions with excellent English. He gave just the right amount of information: enough to be interesting and not too much that we nodded off. (Although much of the info is available from Wikipedia, it is still more fun to hear it from a guide.) He knew all the tricks for where to park and how to skip the line. Most importantly, he is an excellent driver. I am usually a nervous passenger but was not with him, even though we were in the car many hours as distances are longer than you might expect. He never seemed tired even though the days were sometimes long. The experience provided excellent value considering the amount of places we saw. I would definitely recommend Bogdan as a guide.Written June 21, 2024
- Allison F0 contributionsDepth and Breadth of RomaniaThe man, and our guide, Bogdan Ghenoiu is more than a creative problem-solving travel guide, more than an interesting sociable light-hearted man of the world, more than a polite knowledgeable educator of all things Romanian. He is honest. He is reliable. And he is trustworthy. How else can I express our family’s appreciation of the safety and clarity that we felt from being with him. He communicated with us regarding which destinations to visit, advised us on restaurants and provided lodgings that gave us a deep understanding of the people and history of Romania. One of his selected overnight accommodations proved to be the most memorable and satisfying. It was a family home (children gone, pursuing their lives) with the father and mother running a clean, simple bed & breakfast with dinner included. And what a dinner it was! Adriana is a fantastic cook. The food was so well made, easily surpassing what you can find in any restaurant. Homemade meals of traditional meats and soups, salads and desserts. The bread and cheese or cakes sometimes came in from a neighbor-villager in barter for the work the father did for others in the community. Everyone in our party agreed we were lucky: we got to spend two nights there! We will never forget Bogdan and the journey we shared. We saw the real Romania with him as our touchstone.Written June 17, 2024
- 90sheym0 contributionsCastles without crowdsThis was one of the best tours I've been on. It was a comfortable ride to the castles with history and stories told to us along the way. Bogden was knowledgeable and funny. He let us do what we wanted at our pace and never rushed us. He also knew how to avoid the big bus tours! I would highly recommend him for your next tour.Written May 29, 2024

Thanks to this tour we have been able to see wonderful places in the Transylvania region, in addition, our guide Bogdam Alex has explained their entire history to us in a clear and educational way, managing to make us smile at all times.
First of all, we visited the Brown Bear Sanctuary, a place where they care for bears rescued from their respective captivities. After learning about the work of this sanctuary and the impressive story of many of these animals that have been fortunate enough to live a better life, we headed towards Brand Castle (known as Dracula's Castle). We have been able to visit the castle inside and we have been lucky to have Bogdam's explanations. After this visit, we enjoyed time to shop and try typical Romanian dishes. To finish we went to the Rasnov fortress, which pleasantly surprised us. From this same fortress, we have been able to enjoy incredible views of the city of Rasnov.
We would like to highlight the flexibility of this tour and how complete it is, as well as Bogdam's kindness and willingness.
Totally recommended!

We decided very spontanously for the trip and did not regret it.
Bogdan is a friendly and patient guide.
He knows a lot about the area and Romania in general, we can highly recommend him.
Thanks to him and the Bran castle and the sanctuary we had a lovely day.
I wouldn't say that Rasnov is worth going to.

We had an amazing day with Mimi. From the time she picked us up in front of our hotel to when she dropped us off, she shared with us her vast cultural and historical knowledge and great stories. She also gave us great tips for other places to see while we're in Romania.
If you're planning to visit any cultural sites while in Romania, we highly recommend you do this with a guide who is knowledgeable. And from our personal experience, Mimi would be an amazing choice.
Thank you Mimi and we look forward to more trips with you in the future!

You need Bogdan in your life! We booked with quite short notice, and were lucky enough to have a private tour of three key places near BraĹźov. Clean car, pleasant and informative guide, and a very memorable day. If you are thinking of seeing Bran Castle, Rasov Fortress, and/or the Bear Sanctuary, we highly recommend Bogdan as your guide. We will definitely return and book again for one of the many other tours Bogdan provides. Ryan (Australia) & Maria (Finland)

Amazing, one of my favorite things I've done traveling so far. I saw so many bears and other animals and it was moving to see how much care they got at the sanctuary after their sad beginnings. Took about 75 minutes and the guide was fantastic telling us the bears' stories and answering any questions.

I booked this tour as I’m travelling solo and didn’t want the hassle of navigating public transport or hiring a car, dealing with parking, etc and I’m so glad I did. Bodgan was my guide and his communication was fantastic before, during and after the trip. As a solo female, I felt incredibly safe and he was really friendly and informative. I learnt so much and he answered any and all questions that I had. The Bear sanctuary, Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress were all great and, as a very big plus, we were able to skip the VERY long line at Bran Castle. I highly recommend the tour to everyone. Thank you for a fantastic day, Bogdan!

Miora was a fantastic tour guide! She was on time, friendly, very knowledgeable and was able to explain the history behind the Bran castle for us with ease and clarity. I absolutely loved the tour of the bear sanctuary and HIGHLY suggest going with this tour or any one that features that, such a beautiful and eye opening experience. The castle was great to experience because I had Miora as a guide because other than that I thought about not going but so grateful I went with this tour :) We also went to Rasnov and it was a great trip! Such a beautiful area! You won't regret booking this tour tbh! You'll feel that your trip to Brasov was well worth it!

The trip was amazing! Our tour guide and driver was very nice and informative too. The bear sanctuary was amazing and as was draculas castle. Although the fortress is actually closed to the public and will be indefinitely, so you can only look at it from the outside, which it should have told you this before you book and go. Nonetheless would recommend!

Price advertised is only a quarter of how much it costs when you go to book it. Considering the no cancellation refund policy, maybe take down the false advertising.
