Excellent Transfer Tours to and from Herzegovina
I took two transfer tours with the owner Ćamil - from Dubrovnik to Mostar (with stops in Stolac, Pocitelj and Blagaj), and from Mostar to Sarajevo (with stops in Jablanica and Konjic, including Tito’s Bunker). Communication was clear and prompt. Ćamil was very helpful in looking at my plans and working with me to figure out what would or wouldn’t work. The tours themselves were delightful, and I got to see a lot of Herzegovina in a fuss-free way. Ćamil is extremely knowledgeable and happy to share more about the country. It felt more like I was travelling with a friend more than taking a tour. The cost is also reasonable considering the distance covered, and the convenience of getting from one place to another while seeing some amazing sights along the way. #ProTip: A stop at Jablanica for the lamb if you’re a lamb lover is an absolute MUST.

          An unforgettable experience
There aren’t enough words to say how pleased and thankful I am with finding Herzeg Day tours. As someone who is part of the Bosnian Diaspora, I wanted to know more about my country, region, and the city that I come from(Mostar). Ćamil is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, history comes alive when you go on tours with him. As someone who is a lover of history, listening to him tell the history and stories was a delight. This is the only tour group in Herzegovina that I use and will only ever use. From the beginning to the end, you don’t feel like you’re with just a guide, but a friend. Thank you so much for the most wonderful experience Ćamil. I will always use his services when I’m in town, thank you again. I will always refer people to use your services whenever they ask about c ok ing to BiH and wanting the Herzegovina experience

          Absolutely amazing!
There are day tours that are pleasant and information and then there are day tours that are so meaningful that they stick with you. My husband and I had the latter, seeing Mostar and discovering its past, its potential and its challenges through the eyes and experiences of a man who has lived through his country worst nightmare and has a clear vision for its future. It was a truly extraordinary experience that we highly, highly recommend.

          Via Ferrata
I contacted Camil after seeing the Herzeg website online and wanted to see about the Via Ferrata tour. He was super informative and planned out our whole morning in his email. We were so glad we booked with Camil. He was such a nice guy and very knowledgeable about climbing. He also had a wealth of knowlede about the area as well as the history of Bosnia. We had such a great day with him. If you're going to be near Mostar definitely book a tour with him. He will adapt any tour to meet your schedule and needs. We are so happy we found him!

Words struggle to describe how amazing my experience was, all thanks to Ćamil
I will carry the memories of what Ćamil showed and told me of his country for the rest of my life. The amazing landscapes and history are incredibly unique. My highlight of a multi-national trip was standing over Mostar on the anniversary of the breaking of the siege in 1994 and having Ćamil describe the resolve of its people despite desperate, wartime conditions while a younger generations of Bosniaks expressed their support through taking selfies with flags of The Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Great Tours with a Great Guide
I took 2 tours with Camil during my stay in Mostar. The first day I took the private walking tour of Mostar and took a tour to see Daorson. Both of these places were really interesting. Being a native of Mostar, Camil provided a wonderful tour of Mostar and showed me so many places in the city that I would have never known about if I had never taken this tour. He even introduced me to some of the divers who dive off of the famous bridge. He provided so many interesting facts about Mostar that no other guide would have mentioned. Afterwards, we visited the ancient megalith of Daorson, which is over 2000 years old. It was extremely interesting and reminded me of a place that would be found somewhere like in Peru and not in a European country. It was less visited than other sites, which made it one of the highlights of my visit to this region of the country. Afterwards, I had a good cevapi at a nearby restaurant. The next day I took the Mostar to Sarajevo Tour as I needed to get to Sarajevo where I would spend the rest of my trip there. During the ride there, Camil presented me with many more interesting facts about the region. We made a brief stop in Jablanica which was interesting (This tour includes a stop in Konjic, but I decided to skip it as I already visited it earlier). Once we arrived in Sarajevo, Camil showed me around the city and also took me around to see other parts that were less known. He also took a lot of good photos of me by the different landmarks. Camil was an extremely safe driver, friendly, informative, provided a lot of interesting personal stories, as well as extremely interesting facts about the Herzegovina region. He provided so much interesting information and showed me so many interesting places that I would have never known about if I tried to visit these places alone. If you are in Mostar and want to visit parts of this region, you will not find any better guide than Camil.

Great history tour with a war survivor
We were in Mostar back in January 2022 and first, I have to apologize for taking almost a year to write this review. Based on the most recent reviews though, it looks like nothing has changed about how wonderful Herzeg Day Tours is, so I'm here to add my praise to all of the other reviews. Going to Bosnia and Herzegovina was something that had been on my bucket list for a while. I was mostly interested in the history of the area. I remember the Bosnian War from the 1990s, but I was a young tween/teenager at the time. My memory is mostly of watching the news about the war with my parents. But beyond that, being so far away from the reality of war, I didn't know much about it. I knew that the country of Yugoslavia had split up into a bunch of smaller countries, but I was lacking knowledge on anything beyond that. I have a degree in history, so history is something that always interests me. Bosnia and Herzegovina is unique in that some of their most important history happened only 30 years ago, which means that people who lived through it are still alive to tell us their stories and experiences. I was really interested in taking a tour from a survivor of the Bosnian War. I think its so important for history to be remembered, and the best way to do that is to talk to the people who lived through it. This way their history isn't forgotten. I contacted Herzeg Day Tours at the last minute, letting them know that my husband and I were interested in taking a war tour of Mostar, and to ask if any tours were available. Camil responded quickly and offered us just a walking tour of Mostar, or an add-on of going into the hills surrounding the city. We chose to do the walking tour plus the ride up into the hills. Camil is a survivor who fought in the war. He gave us his personal account of what he experienced, along with showing us key points of interest around the city. He showed us some barracks that he lived in and places where he fought. He told us about his family during the war, his opinions about the current Bosnian flag (opinions that seem to be shared by many who were in the war), his opinions about the tensions between the different ethnic groups in the country, where he was at when the bridge fell after being shelled, and lots more. He took us up on Hum Mountain where we also learned about the Bura wind which was blowing REALLY strongly that day. On the mountain, he taught us about both the Bura wind, and about how the hills around the city played a key role in the war. In the city, he taught us about the war, and just the city in general. We were heading to Sarajevo that afternoon, and he was always mindful of the time. He asked us several times if we needed to stop the tour so that we could get on the road, or if we wanted to see more. Each time we chose to keep walking and seeing more. Camil is also excellent at knowing exactly where to take photos and videos. He offered to take quite a few photos for us on Hum Mountain, and included a video of us almost getting blown over in the Bura wind. He took quite a few pictures of us by the Stari Most bridge, at several different angles. He's very aware of what tourists want as their souvenir photos. Learning about the war from someone who experienced it is so different than reading about it in a history book. I would recommend that anyone who is interested in Yugoslavian history take a tour from a war survivor. And Herzeg Day Tours would be my go-to place for that tour. It makes the information so much more tangible and real. Especially when there are still so many physical scars from the war left in the city itself. Listening to Camil's stories while looking at the buildings that are still covered in bullet holes or walking through a cemetery that was once a park and used when they ran out of places to bury people, brings a sense of realness to the history that once seemed so far away. This company offers other tours, unrelated to the war, and we'd love to come back one day and take some of those tours. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a beautiful country with so much to do and see. When we planned our trip we didn't plan nearly enough time in Mostar or in BiH in general. We really want to come back in the very near future to experience more of Mostar and the surrounding areas. I'd absolutely recommend Herzeg Day Tours to anyone looking to learn about the history of Mostar. And Camil was such a great guide that I would imagine that the other tours he offers would also be wonderful.

If ever in Mostar, call on Herzeg tours!
Camil was an excellent guide with first hand knowledge of the history, sites and hidden gems of Mostar. He was considerate (my husband had some walking difficulties), punctual, and accommodated our needs based on the short time we had in Mostar.

An amazing experience through a beautiful place
I went on the most wonderful private Hercegovina day tour with Ćamil in October, at the end of the season, in the most glorious weather (but guess I can't give him credit for that!) and it's one of the highlights I've had travelling anywhere so far. His knowledge of the area, its natural environment and its history are encyclopaedic, and he's kind (I fell over because that happens to me a lot and there was great care - more than I'm accustomed to! - to ensure I was okay), good company, and has a good rhythm of guiding and allowing his guidees (if that's a word) to slope off and explore at their own pace for a while. I'd 100% (more!) recommend Ćamil and Herzeg Day Tours to anyone who wants to discover more of this magnificently beautiful place - there really is no substitute for a guide who knows and loves this region.

I did two outings with Ćamil: a day hike to Prenj and the wine route. I met a competent guide, well informed, calm and especially nice person. Communication was easy. Ćamil taught me a lot about beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina and I will not hesitate to book with him again.
