walking tour with Milica around the Black Lake
We had the lovely Milica take us around the Black lake! It was incredible, the views were spectacular and she was lovely, knowledgeable, patient, passionate and so very kind. She helped my mother over the difficult bits and encouraged my children to complete the walk. Taking a tour guide really helps you get to know the country!

Experience was great but ended quickly. I wished the tour was longer
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and a historian. He knew key historical facts about the people being discussed and artifacts.

    History basis
The walking excursion was just of the right timing to get a decent impression of Podgorica history. Ana knows a lot and presents information clearly, interesting, and with a keen humor!

    Falling in love with Montenegro
We spent 3 days with Marija Ivanovic and came to love Montenegro through her passion and heart for the country. The overall service of her company Montenegro Adventures was nothing short of superb.

The entire experience of our Montenegro tour was very professional. The planning of our private tour including airport transfers was done by Ivanna from the agency who kept in constant contact during the whole process. Once arrived we had our wonderful guide Marija for all our tours. Marija made this an unforgettable vacation with her knowledge of history and culture of her homeland. While traveling to the different landmarks We learned also of the daily life in the country. We were a party of four adults and were extremely happy with all the arrangements made for us. We definitely recommend using this agency and especially Marija for your travels in Montenegro.

Walking Tour a must to appreciate Podgorica
We were not impressed with Podgorica as a town until Ana Zaric helped us appreciate Podgorica's buildings and history. She is an excellent guide with perfect English and we valued her local perspective. We would very much recommend this visit, even in the rain.

Worry free travel with expert help
Worry free travel throughout our 9 day journey in Montenegro and Croatia. Our agent Ivana selected great boutique hotels, fluent guides, skillful drivers and an itinerary that matched our travel interest perfectly. The flexibility was fantastic. If we wanted to delay our departure from 10 to 11 no problem. If we wanted to stop for a swim no problem. We highly recommend this company. We could not have taken this trip without Ivana’s expert help.

A wonderful day trip from Podgorica to Cetinje, Kotor, Perast
I had a wonderful visit and day arranged by Montenegro adventures. Visited museum and monastery in Cetinje, then went to Kotor. The view of Kotor and bay of Kotor from up in the mountain was just breathtaking, great spot to take pictures as well. The small city of Perast is not to be missed, calm, very peaceful area. Have beach also. Anyway , all good. My driver / guide Bata was very helpful, and the nicest guide, driver and person I met for a day trip. Ivana (from their office) suggested the tour , she was nice and helpful too. Strongly suggested if you are looking for one day trip from Podgorica in a private car and a driver and visit freely.

    Fantastic!
We booked this tour couple of weeks ago, at the last minute, as my cousins from the UK were anxious to go to a self-drive adventure around the Boka Bay the next day. They needed quick introduction, we got a recommendation from the hotel they were staying, but we needed quick sunset tour, no time to visit Kotor Cathedral or local museums – so we explained it to the agent. Our guide, Jelena, met us in front of the main gate, and took us for a quick, one hour spin, around the Old Town. She was so energetic, knowledgable and passionate about her town, her country – it was an engaging hour, in which she patiently answered all questions, and at the end, recommended a lovely restaurant in the city.

    Learned a lot!
I had a great time walking the city with Ana. I have lived in Podgorica for 6 months and yet still discovered new things I had never seen. Ana gave such a rich history of the city and country.

Great tour with an amazing guide!
We scheduled a private tour, as we came to Podgorica in the late afternoon hours, just checked in and rushed to the main square to meet our guide. Our friends told us not to expect much from Montenegro's capital. But this was a great way to get to know Podgorica! Ana, our guide was not only knowledgeable, but she also has a great personality and a huge sense of humor. It was hot, way too hot for September, we were told that Podgorica can be a frying pan in the summer. The tour explained many things from Podgorica's history and current life, but the real treat was to talk to Ana about her town, people, customs, religion, old ways and new ways... It was a two hours walking experience, as we had to stop and rest because of my cousin, and we had to sit and rest before continuing. At the end of the tour, we asked about nightlife, pubs, places to eat – and got a recommendation for the pub with craft beer, best traditional restaurants, and exquisite contemporary restaurant. The only regret – we found about the agency and Ana at the very end of our stay.

My partner and I travelled from Dubrovnik to Kotor as a whim and we have to say this was the best part of our holiday! Kotor is a beautiful place, rich in history and architecture, our host was extremely informative - explaining with great pride the facts and folklore of her town. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Kotor as it is a great way to find your bearings and enjoy this beautiful city. We decided to hike the city walls to the fort at the top and the views at sun set are truly breathtaking.

Hi, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our Kotor city tour. This tour is designed as an introductory, half an hour experience to the town of Kotor, giving a brief overview of the town, its culture, history and customs, for those who prefer to continue exploration on their own. Many of our clients after a brief visit to Kotor, decide to come back to Montenegro and explore the country further, sometimes several years later. It is always great to hear that you have enjoyed your brief visit to Montenegro. Kind regards, Slavica

We absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide Petra has lived her life in Montenegro and her love and pride for her country and Kotor itself made the tour even more special. She began with an informative overview of the geography and history of Kotor, which was extremely helpful given our fairly limited knowledge of this region. As we toured the city, she provided a lot of insight into the history and culture of Montenegro, which was a highlight of the tour. She also provided several recommendations for other activities and eateries to visit after the tour concluded. I would highly recommend this tour, particularly for cruisers who may only have limited time in the city. For those traveling through, this tour would provide an excellent overview for planning the rest of your time in Kotor. Thank you, Petra! You were fabulous! :)

Would recommend if your time is limited and/or you're looking for a low impact (i.e., easy on the legs) walking tour of the Old Town. We visited the main squares within the Old Town and did a thorough tour of the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Our guide's English was very good for a non-native speaker.

My tour guide was Petra. She really loves and enjoys history. Wish my history teachers in school were even as fraction as interested in history as Petra is. She gave a wonderful summary of Kotor and then the Montenegrin culture. In addition to things she had to explain you could also ask her additional questions about the history, culture and arts. I would recommend that the first thing you do when you arrive in Kotor is do this trip. With this you have enough knowledge to plan the rest of your stay and activities in Kotor. Petra motivated me to try the Kotor Ladder/ the city wall (the one that takes about 40 mins to an hour - for people who are not circuit runners like her). And it was amazing. Thank you Petra. You'll notice that sometimes the way she is describing some of the old paintings is such that you can "see" the painting in your mind. Amazing storytelling skills she has. Petra I wish you good luck for your future, and if you visit NL and plan on checking our van Gogh's work, do not stop at just the Van Gogh Museum, also check out the van Gogh gallery in Otterlo (near Arnhem/ Hoge Veluwe national park).

Thank you very much for this lovely review. Petra will be delighted to read it, she is extremely motivated, and enjoys her job, she is very interested in history and art, but also in interaction with people from different parts of the globe. Your reviews, as well as dialogues that sometimes occur during the tours are making her efforts to present Kotor's history really rewarding. This tour is designed as an introduction to Kotor, and we hope that you have enjoyed the rest of the stay as well. Kind regards, Slavica

A great way to see Kotor and learn more about its past! Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to discover more about the history of the city. We were a small group and were able to take a tour at 10:30 in the morning. Even though the sun was already blazing, our friendly and considerate tour guide kept us safe in the shade. They were very knowledgeable and provided some humour when necessary. 4* only due to the fact that in comparison to other walking tours I have been on, I wasn't as impressed and as blown away as I normally am. Guide could have done with being a bit more lively and enthusiastic!

My friend and I took a cruise that included a day in Kotor, Montenegro. I have to admit I had never heard of Kotor, and didn't know what to expect when we booked a walking tour with Montenegro Adventures. Before the tour started we walked up more than a thousand steps to the walls that fortified and had protected the city for centuries, nestled by a bay of the Agean Sea. The town looked medieval, but Petra, our guide for the walking tour, told us it was founded centuries BC. Her vivid descriptions of the history and architecture were fascinating and her enthusiasm and love for Kotor was evident. She ended with a stop at a pocket-sized shop tucked into an alleyway that had memorable chocolate gelato. Definitely ask for Petra if you decide to take the walking tour.

I'm very happy with Petra guiding tour she offered us today in the afternoon!
She is definitely very knowledgeable and passionate about her job and her own birth town and she knows how to make the guests love it.
The walk with her was very pleasant, joyful and full of insights into the history and heritage of this extremely beautiful Balkanic town.
I would strongly recommend Petra for her expertise and the town for its charm and state of happiness that it transmits.

Many thanks!

Best wishes,

We are so glad we booked this tour with the fabulous Petra, it was an absolute joy to be taken around her city. We'd originally booked a group tour, but when there wasn't enough people for the tour to go ahead we were given the option of a private tour and we are so pleased this is how it worked out. It was like being taken around the city by a friend. Petra was so knowledgeable and passionate about Kotor and Montenegro and we learnt so much. We would highly recommend. She was very patient answering all our questions, gave some great tips for other places we should visit and was a fun and engaging guide. It was easy to book and communication via WhatsApp with Ivana (??) was fast and friendly.

I had a wonderful Kotor Old Town Walking Tour on October 18th with the guide Petra courtesy of Montenegro Adventures. She put her passion for her home town across in such a captivating way and put the history of Montenegro and Kotor across in such a lively insightful manner. I want to compliment the great Ivana of Montenegro Adventures too - her communication was just fabulous, efficient, gracious, just what you'd want. In fact Petra and Ivana are two such intelligent, organized and gracious human beings that I nominate them to head the next government in Montenegro!

Thank you very much - we are truly humbled by this review. Ivana is a leading force in our sales team for more than 10 years, and Petra is the latest addition to our guiding crew, we were happy when we discovered her a year ago. We love what we do, but the last several years were extremely difficult for our company as for many in the tourism sector, and we are still in a phase of slow recovery - and the reviews of our travellers are what makes a huge difference when it comes to the motivation of our staff! We are really happy to hear that you were satisfied with the level of our services and we hope you have truly enjoyed your stay in Montenegro. I hope you will also be ok if I quote you a bit on social media, I really feel that now - at the end of another season I should brag a bit about our loyal and tireless staff :) Kind regards, Slavica

We had a fantastic walking tour with Jelena all round the city. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about Kotor, and relayed all the information in a really interesting and absorbing manner. We have gone away to read up more on Kotor now as we had no idea about its rich history before we went on this trip! Highly recommended.
