Recommended company for multi day trips on our family holiday from Dubrovnik
We had two fantastic days out with Kruno! Highlight days out of our family trip of 7 to Dubrovnik. Personally I loved Montenegro - stunning place, very doable as a day trip and worth adding to the list. Bosnia was further away so more travel time but worth the drive! Kruno was very knowledgable and we were very happy to see him again on our second trip! I booked direct with Adriatic Explore for our trips and was very pleased with the service I received for the team! Thank you!

          Be Careful
I took the tour to Bosnia (Mostar and the waterfalls), at the end of the tour there was a delay due to the guide and she decided not to leave us at the hotel we were staying at, leaving us at another point and making us go on foot, at 8 pm, in a dark street, in an unknown city. If we depended on the guide, we would still be on the street, thanks to Google Maps we managed to get there. It's worth saying that they don't care who they leave on the street, elderly people, children, it doesn't matter. So be careful!!

They left us in the middle of the street
I bought this tour with Adriatic Explore to Bosnia to go with my family with the best of expectation. They said that they would pick us and leave at our hotel, but, on our way back, they just said they had too many stops, so they left us in the middle of town, 08 pm, with my mother of 64 years old. We got lost on the way and got lucky that some local men help us find our way. Big dissapoinment, I will not buy a tour with them anymore.

          Good trip but a caveat!!!!
Annette was a good guide - very knowledgeable! Would have liked less time at the falls and more at Mostar. The falls are not that impressive - nice but don’t match Niagara Fallls or Iceland etc etc. Mostar is great! Had our best meal of the whole trip there! Very affordable- would consider a trip back there. Wish there was less time at the falls and more in Mostar. Biggest caveat- we did the Adriatic Explorer tour the day before to Kotor - and were not told the drop off point would be different than the pick up point meaning we had to find our own way back to the old city. Advised the guide of our problems the day before - she said maybe a transfer would be arranged by the company. Didn’t happen - our group was forced to disembark cross a busy 4 lane road with just a few words of instruction on how to get back to the old town. Took us a long dark walk to find our way back. The explanation was that the company doesn’t pay the fee to drop off at Pile gate. Only to pick up before 7am. Profits before convenience. Might have been nice if they told us that when we booked!!!

          Guide was great!
Our tour guide was Doris who was great!! Easy to understand and fluent in English and Spanish. She did a great job for us! Perast was good but would have liked less time there and more in Kotor. Only negative was the drop off. We were picked up at Pile Gate and dropped off somewhere where we had to fend our own way back to the old town. Wouldn’t have been too bad except the person I was with had a healing torn meniscus and had to endure a steep hill and many steps into town - unfortunately a good trip turned into a excruciating experience. Wish Adriatic Explorer would have told us about the alternate drop off!!!

          Beautiful Mostar and brilliant guide
Had a short tour in Mostar given by Dzenan. Mostar is a beautiful city with a rich history and it was lovely to hear the in depth history from an unbiased point of view. Dzenan is a great guide, making the group feel at ease and his love and passion for his home town is transferred to anyone he speaks with - a beautiful soul who wears his heart on his sleeve.

          Montenegro Day Trip
Brilliant trip on the 12th October with Carlos. A smooth and seamless service to Montenegro. Nice stop off in a beautiful setting for a coffee then on to the main event. Carlos has a professional and friendly manner. Montenegro is absolutely beautiful.

          Great day out
Our driver Carlos was on time in the morning and was very good all day. We got through customs fairly quickly and had 3 hours in Mostar with a guided tour with a very knowledgeable and passionate local guide. Take a boat ride to see the bridge. Food and drinks are cheaper in Bosnia. Keep your eye out for pickpockets. We went to the falls and had an hour and a half there. Lovely Waterfalls. A great long day, well organised and time to see everything.

Went on an all day visit to Montenegro and we were picked up at the exact agreed time & place. Service was faultless & a really good day out. We were really well looked after and our driver, Carlos, was great; excellent driver and provided a brilliant soundtrack.

          Mostar and Kravice
An excellent day out with a very friendly and informative driver, Kruno. He tailored the day to suit us, and we all had a great time. The taxi/minibus was very comfortable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour, the tour company, and Kruno in particular.

          Beautiful views
This is a must do! Our driver was very knowledgeable and was very accommodating to our group. Moster is a cute little town with lots of shops and restaurants. I recommend going in the off season if possible because it can get quite crowded.

          Great private tour
Our guide Kruno was great. Knowledgeable on the history of the area and answered any questions. We were not really on any time crunch. Got to come back to the van at our leisure. Enjoyed the Mostar bridge and Kravice waterfalls.

A fantastic day out! Well worth getting up early!
Punctuality picked up from our apartment in a mini bus driven by Carlos. Early start and only a few of us tourists meant that we flew through border control which meant we had more time at areas of interest. Carlos was informative on what we were seeing on our way to Mostar. We was taken to Mostar first for 3.5 hrs. First hour we spent with the local tour guide- he was very knowledgeable, interesting and passionate about Bosnia. Telling us information about the past and present of the country. As we were a small group we decided to go on a little boat trip with him at the old bridge as he said we would get to see more in a lot less time. He didn’t force this but for €5 each we all decided as a small group it was worth it! After leaving our local guide we had a few hours of free time to explore Mostar before heading back to the mini bus. Carlos then took us to the Kravice waterfalls. We spent an 1.5hrs here- enjoying the beautiful waterfalls and even had a little dip but it was very cold! This whole experience was wonderful, as we were a small group we bonded very well including the driver Carlos, we all had a laugh and enjoyed talking to Carlos. Carlos even recommended where we could eat and drink not far from our apartment and even dropped us off there! We couldn’t fault anything of this day trip. Thank you Carlos and our Mostar tour guide for making the day a great experience 👍

          A most lovely, personal tour!
A great day with Zlatko! He is very congenial, gentlemanly (always opened car door for me), knowledgeable about the history of the areas and has a quick wit with a ready laugh. His recommendations on where to eat and what to do were spot on. Adriatic Explore came through again! They will be my go to every time I come to Dubrovnik. Ivan was so helpful and accommodating in setting up our trip.

Must see, although a long day for not much, if that makes sense?
This feels to me as one of those have to do trips when in the Dubrovnik area due to the history of the bridge. So we called at the "Tourist Centre" near the hard rock cafe to book. Interestingly the booking had to be cash only as the card machine does not always work. Yeah right, nothing to do with the 25% VAT in the country?? Anyway the positive is you are collected close to where you are staying. But then you stop at a predetermined spot to await those clients being transferred from Cavtat. You then have another wait whilst you cross the odd border between Croatia and Bosnia (nice bit of history to how Croatia is split by this 20KM sea access for Bosnia). There is a toilet rest break at a hotel just inside the border, with a cheap supermarket. You also stop here on the way back. And then you are onto Mostar. We had a 45 minute city tour. Really great tour from a very switched on local. Then you have 2 hours 15 minutes free time. The problem is that you feel like you are in an English seaside town with the cheap gift shops and restaurants. The bridge is obviously the main attraction and it does not fail to impress. The problem is there is not much else to do apart from eat. You are then transferred to the waterfalls. It is quite a way down, the good news is there is a 1 euro train ride back up. The waterfalls are nice, but we had been spoilt in Canada earlier in the year with some amazing waterfalls. Now Doris our guide was brilliant and informative and triple language, Croatian, English and Spanish. Juan our driver, not so good. Some poor driving and heavy breaking spoilt the trip a little. All in all, great to see the bridge and waterfall, but it just feels a little underwhelming as a tour.

I try to give grace whenever things go poorly, but this was off the charts and a borderline coup resulted. It’s listed as a twelve hour experience, but it was only ten and a half (which ended up being a gift). They started latex and returned early. The transport was crowded, my husband’s seat was broken so that he could not rest on the seat back at all without crushing the person behind his (they were notified prior to departure but made no effort to fix it). We stopped for coffee for thirty minutes at a GAS STATION, despite various local places being ten minutes away. We were only given 45 minutes in our first town, because apparently the gas station (where they did not get gas) was a priority. Despite being advertised, there was no swimming offered. We were allowed three and a half hours at our final destination. The ride back was sweltering, despite their vehicle having air conditioning. Multiple passengers (self included) asked for it to be turned on or turned up, to open the sun roof for air, to turn off the air recycling option - every request was met with a “no”, while they enjoyed fresh air from the only openable windows at the front. We were all sweating through our clothes. At border crossing, we asked to get out and wait on the side, to get a reprieve from the heat (yes, outside was significantly cooler). We were told no again. People were concerned about heat exhaustion and feeling unwell. This is when we, the travelers who were strangers at the start, discussed it and sort of banded together and got off in a group, manually adjusted the air setting ourselves, etc. Faced with a group, they silently relented. It was ridiculous. NO ONE enjoyed themselves. The driver was cursing at another car on the road, shaking his fist and yelling through the window, while the guide was telling us she hoped we enjoyed ourselves. Do NOT go with this company. It is truly the worst care, prep, or responsiveness I have ever had, despite many trips over the years. That said, ALL of our other Croatian accommodations, drivers, and tours have been truly great. Good luck.

Dear Donna H, Thank you for taking your time to share your travel experience with us. We are really sorry to hear you didn't have a good time and following our driver and guide information, we will try to explain what happened. Our first stop in Montenegro is at the gas station as sometimes the borders get very busy and, in that case, we make a stop at the first spot so our guests can get their coffee and toilet break at the earliest convenience. The break was supposed to take 15 minutes as the guide informed you on the bus but some of the guests were late and the only option for us was to wait for them... First stop was in Perast and you did arrive there at 10:35 am and you had your free time until 12:15. In this case, you even had more of your free time than its stated in our itinerary. Both places, Kotor and Perast are located by the sea so there was possibility for you to take a swim during your free time. It’s not allowed for any passengers to be outside of the vehicle anywhere near the border so that’s the reason why Hana didn’t let you to step out of the bus. Unfortunately, due to a fault of another car in the traffic the driver had to step on the brakes to avoid potential car accident and we do apologize for that. The vehicle that was used that day for the tour is Mercedes Sprinter (2017 Eurolimbus) and last few days we have had a heat wave in the area so that might be the reason why the AC on the bus couldn’t cool down enough the area. Once again, we are really sorry to hear your disappointment with this tour and I hope we will be able to welcome you in our beautiful city again. Best regards, Adriatic Explore Team

We went on this trip to Montenegro as we were advised it was worth the visit. We were a small group in an 8 seater mini van which was comfortable and air conditioned. Our driver was pleasant but unfortunately as we were in the back we couldn’t hear his commentary, was only picking up bits of it, would suggest a microphone. Because of this when we got to the lady of the rock stop we weren’t sure what was happening. Basically we paid a guy 10 euros each for a 2 minute boat ride ride for nothing really, we could have walked around village with same views plus had to pay 1 euro to use a disgusting toilet and as there had been no other toilets en route. Would. Or recommend this lady of rock island. When we go to Kotor it was very busy as cruise ships were in. Beautiful walled city but our so Spanish guide was flustered and useless and we wasted half an hour waiting for cruise ship passengers. We are just the. Want around ourselves

There were beautiful views but was disappointed overall

The tour guide in Montenegro was the highlight, transportation broke down on the way. The first vehicle the AC worked well on the replacement vehicle to say it didn’t work would not be accurate the driver kept the fan on low and did not have the temperature as cold. This may seem a bit petty but it was 41 Celsius or 105 degrees out so AC for everyone was important. The tour coordinator did not really apologize just seemed to say we got your tour complete. We made no stops on the way back and honestly with all the vehicle delays instead of getting back at like 4:30 we did not get back until after 7:00 pm.

This trip was disappointing for several reasons. We were picked up on time outside the Pila Gate at 6:45 then driven to Lapad to meet the others on our tour. The minivan driver picked up others and all 18 of us were ready to go by 7:30. We had to wait at the curb another 30 minutes for the driver of the bigger bus to show up. We finally left Dubrovnik at 8:00. Once onboard, our tour guide, Marinela, recited her script in a dull monotone. She sounded as bored as we were. The worst part is that this tour company had combined an English speaking group with a Spanish speaking group, so throughout the day Marinela said, “There is more to say but I can’t tell you more now because I have to translate.” This had to have been as frustrating for the Spanish speakers as for us. The one saving grace of the day was our city guide in Kotor, Nada. Knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic. She’s the only reason I didn’t give this tour one star. She was excellent. But that was only one hour out of an 11 hour day. We even asked Mariela for restaurant recommendations in Kotor. “Oh, there are restaurants in the square,” was her response. The trip to the island in Perast to see the church was also disappointing since we were expected to just wander around on our own and without a guide providing context, there wasn’t a lot to see. It would’ve been better to ride in a boat along the shore for the same amount of time while in Perast. My advice is to go with a different company.

We were picked up on time and the border crossing was better than expected.
Scenery was spectacular. Kotor was lovely and tour guide there knowledgeable
There was a change of programme due to traffic and we all went on a boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks Island first. This was chaotic - our guide first said we would be there for half an hour, this was then reduced to 20 minutes!
However we had plenty of time in Kotor after the boat trip - 3 Hours was plenry and the coach trip back to Dubrovnik went without any delay.

It is a beautiful City on the Bay! Amazing scenery, history, people and sea food with affordable prices. No problem with English, driving, and credit cards. It has one of the most beautiful new marina developments in the world. We drove there from Dubrovnik and stay at an Airbnb about a week right on the water which was crystal clear to the bottom. An amazing vacation spot!

We were a little worried about our daytrip into Montenegro—safety mostly. We needn’t have worried. The trip was well executed, Luca was our guide and very professional. He told us interesting history and facts about the region. We had good stops and the tour flew by. We loved visiting Kotor’s old town and seeing the magnificent wall that went to the top of the mountain. We enjoyed visiting Perast and seeing the Lady of the Rock. We enjoyed the fellow travelers in our group of 8. Well worth the time and money!

Had a wonderful trip with our Driver, Ivan. He is on time for the pick up and shared a lot of fun and interesting information along the trip! The van was comfortable. Kotor is a beautiful place to visit with many to offer! Would definitely recommend my friends.
