We took the Montenegro Day tour from Dubrovnik and had a wonderful time! Ivan picked us up in a nice Mercedes van for a pleasant ride to Kotor. The scenery along the ride and into Kotor was stunning. There, a local guide met us for a very interesting tour of the lovely old town. After a delicious lunch followed by a little free time, we headed to Perast , where we rode a small boat to Lady of the Rocks Island. Ivan is a terrific guide and stopped at several more beautiful sites along the way so we could get better views and take pics. We’re planning another tour with them before we leave Dubrovnik. Highly recommend !

We were a little worried about our daytrip into Montenegro—safety mostly. We needn’t have worried. The trip was well executed, Luca was our guide and very professional. He told us interesting history and facts about the region. We had good stops and the tour flew by. We loved visiting Kotor’s old town and seeing the magnificent wall that went to the top of the mountain. We enjoyed visiting Perast and seeing the Lady of the Rock. We enjoyed the fellow travelers in our group of 8. Well worth the time and money!

I try to give grace whenever things go poorly, but this was off the charts and a borderline coup resulted. It’s listed as a twelve hour experience, but it was only ten and a half (which ended up being a gift). They started latex and returned early. The transport was crowded, my husband’s seat was broken so that he could not rest on the seat back at all without crushing the person behind his (they were notified prior to departure but made no effort to fix it). We stopped for coffee for thirty minutes at a GAS STATION, despite various local places being ten minutes away. We were only given 45 minutes in our first town, because apparently the gas station (where they did not get gas) was a priority. Despite being advertised, there was no swimming offered. We were allowed three and a half hours at our final destination. The ride back was sweltering, despite their vehicle having air conditioning. Multiple passengers (self included) asked for it to be turned on or turned up, to open the sun roof for air, to turn off the air recycling option - every request was met with a “no”, while they enjoyed fresh air from the only openable windows at the front. We were all sweating through our clothes. At border crossing, we asked to get out and wait on the side, to get a reprieve from the heat (yes, outside was significantly cooler). We were told no again. People were concerned about heat exhaustion and feeling unwell. This is when we, the travelers who were strangers at the start, discussed it and sort of banded together and got off in a group, manually adjusted the air setting ourselves, etc. Faced with a group, they silently relented. It was ridiculous. NO ONE enjoyed themselves. The driver was cursing at another car on the road, shaking his fist and yelling through the window, while the guide was telling us she hoped we enjoyed ourselves. Do NOT go with this company. It is truly the worst care, prep, or responsiveness I have ever had, despite many trips over the years. That said, ALL of our other Croatian accommodations, drivers, and tours have been truly great. Good luck.

Dear Donna H, Thank you for taking your time to share your travel experience with us. We are really sorry to hear you didn't have a good time and following our driver and guide information, we will try to explain what happened. Our first stop in Montenegro is at the gas station as sometimes the borders get very busy and, in that case, we make a stop at the first spot so our guests can get their coffee and toilet break at the earliest convenience. The break was supposed to take 15 minutes as the guide informed you on the bus but some of the guests were late and the only option for us was to wait for them... First stop was in Perast and you did arrive there at 10:35 am and you had your free time until 12:15. In this case, you even had more of your free time than its stated in our itinerary. Both places, Kotor and Perast are located by the sea so there was possibility for you to take a swim during your free time. It’s not allowed for any passengers to be outside of the vehicle anywhere near the border so that’s the reason why Hana didn’t let you to step out of the bus. Unfortunately, due to a fault of another car in the traffic the driver had to step on the brakes to avoid potential car accident and we do apologize for that. The vehicle that was used that day for the tour is Mercedes Sprinter (2017 Eurolimbus) and last few days we have had a heat wave in the area so that might be the reason why the AC on the bus couldn’t cool down enough the area. Once again, we are really sorry to hear your disappointment with this tour and I hope we will be able to welcome you in our beautiful city again. Best regards, Adriatic Explore Team

The tour guide in Montenegro was the highlight, transportation broke down on the way. The first vehicle the AC worked well on the replacement vehicle to say it didn’t work would not be accurate the driver kept the fan on low and did not have the temperature as cold. This may seem a bit petty but it was 41 Celsius or 105 degrees out so AC for everyone was important. The tour coordinator did not really apologize just seemed to say we got your tour complete. We made no stops on the way back and honestly with all the vehicle delays instead of getting back at like 4:30 we did not get back until after 7:00 pm.

We had an excellent experience on the one-day tour to Montenegro's Bay of Kotor and Perast. Our guide was outstanding. He went out of his way to ensure we had a great day. I would recommend using Adriatic Explore. Well done!

We were met by our friendly guide at 7:15 a.m. outside our hotel. The bus was large and airconditioned with seats that recline. When we went it was only half full, so plenty of seating room if you wanted to see the scenery from one side or the other. Note: We had a family with a little one and the tour provided a child seat. While going, I would recommend sitting on the right, while coming sitting on the left, to get the most of the breath-taking views. Beautiful drive around Europe's southernmost fjord to Kotor, where we had a local guide explaining the city layout and main areas of interest and then plenty of time for food and sightseeing (if you have kids who like pizzas, there is Sara's pizzeria near the main square). We didn't attempt the 1300 step climb to the top with kids in tow, but the more fit and adventurous may like to try. On the way back we stopped at Perast and everyone opted for the boat trip to the little island containing the church of Our Lady of the Rocks- this costs 5euros per person (should do, its lovely). The guide bought all our boat tickets, but its a good idea to take the tickets with you when you go to the island as the guide doesn't come along and on the return trip, we and another family from our group were asked for these by the boatmen; we convinced them; but better to have them with you just in case. All in all it was a lovely day out, but I would have liked a bit more information from our main guide on Montenegro's history and other areas of interest during the long hours in the bus. Note: Apart from the main locations, there were 2 other stops for coffee/restroom. We were back in Dubrovnik by 6:15 p.m. - there are some restrictions on bigger buses in the evening, so we were bundled into a van which dropped us off at our hotel by 6:30 p.m. or thereabouts. In summer, the trip may take much longer depending on the queues at the border crossing- there is one in each direction- Montenegro is not yet part of the EU although they have adopted the euro as their currency.

Dear Farlander, Thank you for sharing your experience with Adriatic Explore travel agency! We are very glad to hear that you have enjoyed our Montenegro group tour. We are working very hard in order to provide our guests with a high level service. Also, in order to provide that level of service we are using new and well preserved coach. All of our personnel, including drivers and tour guides, are well educated and experienced which makes them perfect fit for this kind of service. When it comes up to your note about crossing the border, we are very glad to hear that you did not experienced any long wait. We always give out a warning about how there is a possibility for our guests to be stuck on the border because of the crowd. It is one of the external factors that we do not have any control over. Once again, thank you for writing this review and we hope that you will catch a chance to travel with us couple of more times. Kind regards, Adriatic Explore team

I was supposed to be doing a slightly different trip but I got the time wrong. Adriatic tours did everything possible to get in touch and it was my fault entirely that I missed it.
Adriatic tours were wonderful though going above and beyond what I could've expected managing to fit me in to this trip instead the following day (and without additional charge). So very helpful and friendly, I can fully recommend them.

The tour itself was well organised to a beautiful part of the world with plenty of time to explore and grab something to eat.

I was met by tour guide Luca who was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable of Dubrovnik and Montenegro. We were a small group of 5 but all had a fantastic time. The car was excellent as it was new and really comfortable, air conditioned and spacious. Views on the drive were breathtaking and the tour had just the right amount of drive time and explore time.
I really had a great trip and would recommend to anyone.

Coach trip from Dubrovnik felt long due to the hour it took to get across the boarder from Croatia into Montenegro. We were travelling a end of season so i dread to think how long it would take at the height of summer.

Trip was well organised, and the boat was ok but we only had 100 people, the boat holds 200 and I think that with 200 it would have been too crowded

We had the opportunity to swim in the sea off the boat for a short while (this isn’t guaranteed on this trip, depends on weather conditions and time available)

Motor was lovely but I would have liked longer than an hour too loon around

Stop off at the Our Lady Of The Rocks Islet was lovely

Dear Woodfordl, Thank you for sparing your free time for writing this review. Our tour to Montenegro is organized in a way that our guests can experience both breathtaking nature of Perast and magnificent Old town of Kotor. Unfortunately, our tour is time limited and because of that we have to divide enough time on both of these destinations. Crowd while crossing the border is not helpful as well and because of that and in order to get our guests back on time for dinner in Dubrovnik we need to be careful regarding time. We believe that city tour in Kotor and two hours of free time are enough to explore the highlights of this town. We always try to give all the necessary information to our guests before the tour, including the information about itinerary. We are glad that it did not affect your overall experience. Hopefully, you will have an opportunity to travel with us on your next visit to Dubrovnik. Kind regards, Adriatic Explore team
