If you do one thing when you're in Dubrovnik, do this.
Nov 2020
When travelling during a global pandemic, you're never quite sure what to expect. But I knew I wanted to make it to Montenegro so, whilst in Dubrovnik, I reached out to Amico Tours to see what options may be available. Huge thanks to Stanka in the office for organising and as a result I spent the day with Gabrijel who was an absolute legend - I can't rate him highly enough; very knowledgeable, informative and full of good energy.
Montenegro is such a beautiful place and discovering it with Amico and Gabrijel is a day I'll never forget. If I could it again, I would. Thanks Amico, for making it possible and leaving me with some amazing memories.

Fabulous Montenegro day trip
Aug 2020 • Couples
My wife and I felt that it was a full on day from 7.00am but felt it was very relaxed and our driver/guide for the day Gabriel was excellent and very knowledgeable. This tour was the highlight of our holiday to Dubrovnik. The scenery is fantastic and I would definitely recommend Footnote- All the Covid 19 precautions were carried out throughout the trip hand sanitizer and masks.

A true sample of excellent tour!
Aug 2020
We trully enjoyed our mostly private Bay of Kotor tour. Tour guide (Orsat), Kotor guide (Juro) and driver (Gabriel) were extremely friendly and very very flexible (appreciate this!)
Orsat is such a warm personality, knowledgeable and professional guide (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed walking the six of us through the area. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment (August and was not crowded!). There are enough breaks to take pictures /eat/ breath. Not to mention the natural bath at Perast, it was a great way to end the tour!
We had four great sunny days in Croatia and this tour obviously added up to the whole unforgettable experience.
Many thanks again and I recommend to everyone!

Amazing tour exceeded expectations!
Sep 2019
I'd never been on a guided tour before but so glad my sister and I decided to do our daytrip to Montenegro from Dubrovnik with Amico tours instead of attempting to do it ourselves! Amazing value for money - included pick up and drop off in Dubrovnik, a tour of Montenegro from a local guide and a boat trip to our lady of the rocks, and plenty of time in between to explore independently. Our tour guide from Dubrovnik and the local guide in Montenegro were both so friendly and the tour was extremely well organised. Next time I'm in Dubrovnik I'd definitely use Amico tours again, couldn't be more impressed!

Best tour of Kotor!
Aug 2020 • Couples
This was an absolute great tour of Kotor from Dubrovnik. Firstly, our guide Gabriel was terrific, very knowledgeable and gave us great information as well as plenty of free time to explore on our own. Great views and stops, good food recommendations and such a good price for the tour.

I really recommend this tour - the guide Gabrijel was fantastic, very knowledgeable about Croatia and Montenegro and additionally, very entertaining - appreciated his humour, even about Jet Engines or Balkan stereotypes.
Also, Amico were very communicative and dealt with any queries promptly.

An enjoyable discovery of Montenegro
Jan 2020 • Couples
A small group of us visited Montenegro for the day. It was great to sit back and relax and learn and see this beautiful country. Our tour guide, Gabriel, was easy going and informative. The only tough part of the day was the walk up to the fortress at Kotor ... the track was a bit rough and it was taxing, but it was a great view when we got their and it was our decision to do it. Highly recommend the day trip.

First of all, thank you for your detailed review.
We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed our tours so much to write these positive comments.
The comments about Gabrijel will be passed to him, we are very happy our hard work is showing.
The “Best of Montenegro” tour is the perfect tour if you like history and scenic beauty.
One of the other tours that we offer is “Mostar and Kravice Waterfalls”, mixture of both rich history and beautiful nature.
If you ever plan on coming back to Dubrovnik please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Fantastic day! Couldn’t ask for better!
Jan 2020 • Friends
I had originally planned to travel to Montenegro by bus alone but I’m so glad I joined this group tour. Economical, I got to see and do a whole lot more than I would have done by myself and had no stress. I really enjoyed talking to our guide who was friendly and knowledgeable on many things. He was very patient with our photo taking obsession and we stopped to watch a beautiful sunset perfectly timed at the end of our tour. Definitely take his advice and try the Pevast cake!

Excellent day trip
Oct 2019 • Solo
The small group consisted of about 15 people in a minibus but I sat up front and was able to converse with the guide. Pacing was good. Commentary was enlightening and filled much of the travel time. Our guide was prepared and well versed. Our driver was very good as well. With multiple border crossings, the smaller group saves a considerable amount of time.

Hi Daydream, I am not working for Amico tours. I am just providing a feedback on their tours. I would suggest you Google Amico Tours and drop a question at their website or connect with them on Facebook. They are pretty responsive there too.

Hi, the weather forecast is saying thunder and rain for Tuesday, will it still go ahead?
HappyWanderer168
Perth, Australia139 contributions
Hi George, I believe that would be the question for Amico Tours. I believe that the guides will continue the tour but will take safety precaution. Likewise, when I started out our trip to Mostar/Kravice Falls, it started raining as we crossed the Bosnia and Herzegovina border. The tour continued even when it rained in Mostar. Our guide made sure that everyone was alright and always ready to lend a helping hand.

Sounds like most of trip is in a van. How much is by boat?

A short boat ride in Perast to see the Lady of the Rocks.
The van takes you from Dubrovnik to Kotor. There is a stop at the boarder to check passports. The stop was 10 minutes.
You get time to spend in Kotor (3 hours) We hiked to to a church to get a great view of the city.
You also have around an hour stop in Perast. There is a very good restaurant called Conte that was great for lunch.
Gabriel, our tour guide was very organized and nice.

Hello. I am interested in visiting kotor and the bay mainly, is this tour offers enough time in Kotor and panoramic views of the bay? thank you
HappyWanderer168

Hi Yas, I am not sure how you would consider as enough time. When we went on the tour, Amico was revamping their website and re-routing some of their tours. Our Best of Montenegro included just Kotor and Budva. However, we did have a very comfortable break at Verige which provides a panoramic view of the bay right at sunrise. Though we had a tour in Kotor with a local guide and lunch break, I personally feel that the time at Kotor could have been longer. However, this is by preference as we were informed that some other tourists prefer longer breaks at Budva instead as they can sit by the shores or have a swim. The time in Kotor is just alright but if it was longer, we would have walked the walls and go up to the church on the hilltop. Ambitious but that's my personal take of how long I was expecting with shorter time on Budva :)

I am staying in Cavtat. Can you pick up from there?
HappyWanderer168
Perth, Australia139 contributions
Hi, Same as David, I booked my tour in Dubrovnik and even though I stayed within the Walls, they asked me that I should just proceed to Pile Gate by the Mirror Monument to wait. According to Amico's website, they do have a number of pick-up schedules for each trip. However, I do not see Cavtat in the list.

We are very keen to try a restaurant in Kotor but need to know whether the tour stops in Kotor at lunchtime?
HappyWanderer168
Perth, Australia139 contributions
Hi, I believe this would be dependent on your tour guide and the itinerary for the day. We went on our tour during non-peak period and there were only 6 of us. A very manageable bunch that are always timely for our departures that we had free time at Old Town Kotor. It would be up to individuals if you would prefer to use the free time to have lunch, look around Kotor Old Town, climb the walls or visit Gradska pijaca (the market situated right outside the walls of the Old Town selling local produce). None of my tour group ate at the restaurants as they were uncertain if their food will be served promptly. We had homemade wraps and another group brought their fruits.

How many are on this tour. You call it a small group
HappyWanderer168
Perth, Australia139 contributions
Hi Colleen, they have a mini-van. There were just 6 tourists. Nothing to reflect the lack of tourists patronising this tour company. They have very good tour guides and it is a good decision to keep it small for the tour guides to personally attend to everyone. Not a marketing gimmick but something that is a fact :)
