At that spot, there is a fence with padlocks of love. That is where your guide will wait for you. Look for the lantern. It is very easy to find our meeting point if you walk from the Old City. If you follow the street from the Pile bus station and walk uphill you should reach the meeting point after 10-15 minutes. If you take a public bus, it is the second bus station from the Old City, just across.

Marija is an excellent storyteller. Coming from Dubrovnik herself, her passion for telling the story of her city is clear. Marija is currently studying the history of the Adriatic which lends unique insights into the role Dubrovnik and its citizens played in regional politics throughout history, and the unfortunate demise many of them met.

Such an fascinating way to learn the history of Dubrovnik with a spooky twist! Marija is a great story teller and has done so much research about some of the delightfully creepy places around town. The tour starts in a cemetery, covers some infamous ghosts around town, explores stories of witches and their deaths at the gallows, moves on to plague mass graves, islands cursed by monks, local folklore, and mythical creatures. There’s a little something for everyone! I loved it and recommend it to anyone who’s interested in slightly less conventional history!

We try to book “haunted history” tours when we travel. It’s always been a fun way to engage the kids and Marija did not disappoint! She has a way of explaining the stories of Dubrovnik in a way that really keeps you interested. The walk was not too strenuous but covers a lot of ground, enabling a lovely night tour outside the city walls. The (off/on) rainy weather only added to the ambiance of the evening. Highly recommend Marija for this alternative way to explore more of this beautiful city!

I am local and went to a tour out of curiosity, I was so surprised to learn so many things about my town. The tour is full of surprises and dark but you will hear interesting stories and old city legends. Highly recommend it to everybody, Black Marija rocks :)

Very intriguing tour! Marija was very enthusiastic about sharing the odd histories and stories of Dubrovnik. I left the tour wanting to conduct more research of my own. I definitely recommend booking this tour during your stay. She added unique touches that made it feel more personalized. I loved it!

Sorry to respond this late, although, I must say that had I really enjoyed having the two of you as my guests, and it's still amusing to think about coincidence with prince Stanisław :) I'm also happy that I finally learned how to pronounce his name correctly or at least I hope so! This was a great experience and a unique way to see and hear more about Dubrovnik! Lots of interesting tales, legends and stories told as you explored various locations that we wouldn’t have seen if we had not taken this tour.
Meeting point is easy to find and very accessible (about 10/15 minute walk from Pile Gate).
Would definitely recommend to all who are looking to do something interesting and different in the evenings!

Marija was wonderful! The tour she created was very original and informative. She clearly is passionate about this subject and Dubrovnik and it showed. Marija was very personable and added touches that made the tour special.

This tour was the highlight of our trip! Our guide Marija took us on an extraordinary, spooky and heartfelt tour around areas we would have missed otherwise. You can tell that she truly cares about the stories and people who she tells you about. We were so intrigued by the tour and the tales that Marija told, that we felt compelled to revisit some of the ‘haunts’ again the following day! Thank you so much Marija! ❤️

Does this walk go along Gornji Kono and up and down some of the paths such as Grudska Ulica and Ulica Zrinska Frankopanska? My favourite little area of Dubrovnik!

I just saw your question here, so to answer it - no, the streets that you named are not in our itinerery, we go through Donji Kono or the street Between three churches (Između tri crkve) and through other lower parts of Pile suburb.
