A long day but so worth it!
We pre booked this tour and it turned out to be the one day we had stormy weather. It was still superb. Our guide Laura was efficient (although she made Mostar out to be a haven for criminals! 😉. Mostar (Andrej was our gude) was stunning but filled with groups of tourists like ourselves and we found an excellent, traditional place to eat qnd watch the crowds go by. The waterfalls are spectacular- even in the rain! We stopped again on the journey back at the impressive suspension bridge across one of the ravines.

        Great Tour
A bit of a long day and the weather could have been better, but we both enjoyed the tour. Even at the end of the season Mostar was mad busy with tour groups. You could hardly stop to take a photo without being trampled. The waterfalls were amazing and would be a great place to spend a full day if the weather was good. The highlight of the tour was our charismatic and mercurial guide, Laura. She gave an excellent off the cuff explanation of the last 500 years of the local politics with some excellent insights. She also (nearly) kept her cool when the customs introduced an unexpected delay. Thanks Laura!

        Waste of time!
If you don’t mind sitting on an uncomfortable bus for 5 hours with a rude, disengaged driver who almost caused 3 accidents and definitely did not know the meaning of the stop sign, then this trip’s for you. The tour leader did provide some information as we drove, but there were many more opportunities to explain things as we drove. She did nothing with the group. Three hours in Mostar given the crowds provided only a limited overview of the history. The inclusion of the Turkish House was a complete waste of time as little information was given and there were too many tourists to get a feel for its significance. The trip to the falls was interesting for those who wanted to swim but other than that it was not of great value. It was picturesque but compared to other falls we’ve seen, it does not rank among the top sights to see. Don’t waste your time or money!

        Well planned trip
It was a very good trip. Everything was on time as planned. Our guide (Sandra) was very friendly and helpful. The trip with the boat was my favorite part. I would recommend it to everyone.

Ivanka from Grayline tours is the best guide
We went with grayline tour operator in Split. Our tour guide Ivanka from Trogir was the best ever;a wonderful, caring and genuine human being who looked after each and every one of us,kept us entertained and knew the facts of each place visited very well. Her presence made the trip memorable. Only downside is I wish we had more time than the 40minutes we had in the little village of Pocitelj which was so pretty 🥰

        Amazing
Carmella was an amazing tour guide. The whole day felt very well planned. The city of Mostar was so interesting and the waterfalls was incredible. Loved the whole day. Would recommend bringing lots of snacks and water!

Mostar is a beautiful small town
Absolutely worth going. Tour guide is a very nice lady. We had a wonderful day in Mostar. The waterfall is just so-so. Would be great if they can add sth else to the trip.

        Bring Cash
We did the day trip from Dubrovnik to Kotor, Lady of the Rocks and Perast. The guide was very nice. We weren't advised that cash was required to pay a tax in Kotor or that cash was required on the island, they charge there to use a toilet, no cards accepted. Seems some people that didn't have cash didn't have to pay the Kotor tax.

        Wonderful waterfall and Mostar market
The waterfalls were beautiful, as was Mostar. Very interesting to compare the repairs (or lack of) in Bosnia as opposed to rebuilds in Croatia from the same period. "Disco" was our driver, he was great but there a bit of an issue in that people in the back couldn't hear and I don't think the mic worked.

Luka the guide and driver made a great trip even greater
I enjoyed the small group part of this tour. 15 people was a good number. Luka our guide did a fabulous job of driving and guiding. It was a hot day. The waterfalls would have been made better if I could swim in them. The dress code on the itinerary says 'smart casual' therefore I didn't have my swimmers. I would have preferred more time at the falls than in Mostar but I did enjoy the town and there is a spot to swim there as well. When the information states you need 10 euro for waterfall entry, they mean in cash and you also need an extra 3 euro for the tourist tax. Many places in Mostar don't have card facilities but you can withdraw the local currency from ATMs. The Turkish house was a lovely way to end the tour.

Cute tourist towns with a 5.5 hour bus ride to get back.
I enjoyed Montenegro. However a 2.5 hour trip back to Dubrovnik took 5.5 hours. There is no mention of the possible delay anywhere in the tour information. Despite seeing the traffic on the way to Montenegro, the guide seemed confident it wouldn't be as bad on the way back. Had we been informed of the possible delay, we could have been prepared with extra water and snacks. Perhaps the company could have an emergence water stash on board. I got severely dehydrated sitting on the bus for that long. If you're deciding between Bosnia and Montenegro I would highly recommend Bosnia.

        Waste of a day
Mostar was a quaint town to visit but the waterfalls visit wasn't worth the time. One hour and half of that was walking down and back up. If you were swimming then you may have got 10 minutes in the water. All in all, it wasn't worth the whole day. If this was a stopover as part of your journey then yes.

If you have a spare day in Dubrovnik then this is worth doing
If you have a spare day in Dubrovnik then this is a great opportunity to visit another country and experience a different setting Kotor is a smaller niche old town with a few hidden gems, we also took a boat trip to one of the islands and visit the cathedral and then visit Perast The tour guide provided helpful information and advice and the time spent in each location was the right amount of time.

I’m a bit torn on how to review this trip as I am happy I went to Montenegro but disappointed the trip was not as described here on TripAdvisor. We were picked up in a small van with just a driver. No tour guide. Our driver did not provide any info during the trip at all. When the company called to confirm our trip yesterday we were told we could get by on credit card and no need for Euros... in Perast there were fees that our driver covered and despite paying $80 a person for a not so guided tour he made sure we took out Euros to reimburse him. We literally paid for a ride and a guy who said ‘you have an hour and half to explore, meet me back here’ in both Kotor and Budva. I think this company needs to offer a different price in winter if they are going to offer a totally different experience.

We've booked the Montenegro coast small group through TA.In order to avoid booking those big coach tour which usually takes 2-3 hrs at Montenegro border control, I even sent a message to SelectDubrovnik to double confirm that I am booking the correct tour- the 18persons minibus tour. They replied and reassured I have booked the right tour. On the day, the minibus arrived at the pickup location on time, but then the horror story began. The guide from the minibus picked up two other tourists then wanted to leave immediately, without even looking at us. I tried to show her my confirmation voucher which clearly wrote Montenegro Coast small group tour, but she simply didnt look at it and said "you are not in this tour"and drove striaght away. I chased after the minibus for like 100m on the road until the driver stopped. Yet the guide still did not make any attempt to look at my confirmation letter or help me clarify things. She just repeated "u wait for the next coach" and drove away(again the "you are none of my business" attitude) , leaving me and my wife on the road shocked and didnt know what to do. I contacted the company, NO reply at all. 15minutes past the agreed pickup time, the big coach came, the guide realised they made the mistake by putting me into the big coach tour instead of the minibus tour. She rudely told us "you want to go with us or not, if not go and get the refund", I chose to have my refund because the price and itinerary of the big coach n minibus tours are completely different, and I didnt want to compromise given their rude n careless attitude. So I asked her for the company address for refund and she wasnt even sure whether her company has offices in the old city! After seeking help from the Dubrovnik Tourist Information Center, SelectDubrovnik finally replied and apologized! The truth is: they have overbooked in the minibus tour as they said the minibus was full and therefore put me into the another big coach tour! This is totally unacceptable!! My wife was very upset and doubt whether we were discriminated as we are Asian. I consider making a formal complaint to the Croatia Tourism Board. JUST stay away from SelectDubrovnik if u dont want your vacation ruined. Their booking system simply chaotic and their staff are unprofessional!

There are many companies that do the day trip to Montenegro and I specifically selected this one because it advertised itself as a mini bus. Mini bus to me is not more than 10 people. The bus seated 20. I'll give the very knowledgable guide her dues, she made it clear from the start that we needed to be back at the bus at each stop in a timely manner. But this many people is not to my liking.

      The stops were interesting.

Montenegro used Euro so take some with you, if you have any. The bus does stop over the border where there is an ATM.

Dear Susiethefloosie, Thank you for your review, and for your feedback, unfortunately what for you is minibus actualy is a wan, all vehicels with more than 10 seats are minibuses, and if you would please be that kind to google definition of minibus on wikipedia you will see photos and explanation and you will have clear that transportation you had on your travel day was minibus, also we advertise our tours as transportation with 18 seater, your minibus was 18 seater plus tour guide and driver so we feel sorry that you published something false that hurts the agency reputation. To save you time I will personaly paste you from wikipedia definiton of minibus and you can google photos to see how minibus looks like, and there you will se not only that you were in minibus but also that you were in the brand new one and the most luxury one on the market, ¨"A minibus, microbus, or minicoach is a passenger carrying motor vehicle that is designed to carry more people than a multi-purpose vehicle or minivan, but fewer people than a full-size bus. In the United Kingdom, the word "minibus" is used to describe any full-sized passenger carrying van. Minibuses have a seating capacity of between 8 and 30 seats. Larger minibuses may be called midibuses. Minibuses are typically front-engined step-entrance vehicles, although low floor minibuses do exist. By size, microbuses are minibuses smaller than 8 metres (26 ft 3 in) long." Kind regards and please double check information in the future before publishing something, Marija

When we booked this tour we chose it over cheaper alternatives in order to ensure we would have fewer people in the group and therefore be able to absorb as much history and knowledge as possible. Unfortunately as it turns out, this is not really a tour...

Our guide did little more than ensure we were all on the bus and transported us from 1 drop off to the next. Once at each destination she set us off on our own and gave us a time to meet back at the bus. While this would have been fine if we had just booked transport, we were under the impression that this was a tour and that the guide would be walking with us and giving us some history behind some of the sights.

We did receive very broad overview of each destination on the bus prior to arrival however it was over the speaker on the bus and barely understandable. We just cut our losses and tried to enjoy the sights even though we had no idea what we were looking at.

I will admit that their "mini bus"was very nice. Im not sure what your idea of a "minibus" is but it held around 20 people or so and was very nice, brand new, and very comfortable.

Dear Dream 559473, Thank you for taking time to write us this review, We are sorry to read that you did not like the guide we had on the bus. Our idea is since we are traveling long time on this tour since it is day tour to another country, to give you all information needed on the bus and to have more free time in visited places since we are limited by the time that we can spend in each place. Kind regards, Marija

On this trip you will see some stunning scenery on the way to Perast, which is an old village. From here you then get a boat and go and visit a small island called Lady of the Rocks which was interesting and then if you wish you can go in the small museum. From here you can see the other twin island which is called St.George.
We then got the boat back and then travelled onto Kotor and explored the old city by going down all the lanes and the pretty squares – St. Tryphon cathedral was good. Unfortunately there’s not enough time here to go round the wall.
After this we visited Budva, which is a medieval city where we had lunch in the recommended restaurant which is by the sea. The meal here was very good and we had just enough time to go and explore this area which we enjoyed immensely.
The border crossing on the way back took a bit of time though. Also I would say that it’s not a guided tour as such as in each place we were dropped off and then told to get back by a certain time – we did get a map of Kotor though. However we both enjoyed the day.
Finally make sure you remember your passports and also take some Euros with you.

Nino from Select Dubrovnik was very helpful in organising a private tour to Montenegro for my girlfriends and I.

On the day we had Milo as our tour guide. He was amazing. My friends and I are very grateful to have him as our tour guide. He was very knowledgable, professional and not to say the least, a gentleman.

The car was very comfortable too. I would highly recommend Select Dubrovnik and Milo.

      Hvala :)

Everything started fine -we were picked up in an 8 passenger van. There were 7 travelers including us plus the driver. Even though he said he also was a tour guide he didn’t provide any information other than the town name & to take us to a starting point. One of the other travels called the company who said because the group was small that we only got a driver. The guide was provided only if there were enough people for a mini bus.
Expensive way to traveling to the 3 sights!!

Four of us did the Montenegro trip last week whilst staying at Cavtat. The company appeared very organised and the day was well planned. Timings immaculate. Comfortable minibus. Informative tour guide and excellent driver. Price not particularly cheap, but value for distance travelled and experiences enjoyed on the day were worth it. When I left the coach, I unfortunately left a package on the minibus but they took care of this by delivering the package to a hotel in Cavtat the very next day. No fuss made and I was very grateful. We look forward to booking again next year to go on the Mostar trip.

Pick up was right on time. Border crossing in both directions were quick as we were on the old highway. Perast was interesting as was The Lady of the Rocks. Kotor is amazing! Driver was good. Guide was fair...she was very difficult to understand and not very enthusiastic. It poured rain all day which limited our enjoyment but no fault of the tour! We saw enough to know we will return in our own some day!

The overall experience along with our driver/guide was excellent .
The country of Montenegro and the Bay of Kotor surrounded by the mountains is truly beautiful .
After a short stop our boat journey to Our Lady of the Rocks then to the village of Preast and onward to the ancient city of Kotor was idyllic.
It was a very long but pleasurable day withy little delays on the border.
      Highly recommended
