Itinerary
- 1We will start by driving to the Peljesac peninsula, circa 1h drive from Dubrovnik. We will visit 3 different wineries, you will see the medieval historic town of Ston, famous for the second longest protective wall in the world (after Chinese Wall) and oldest salt factory of that kind in the world! You will also taste some local olive oils of great quality too and see some spectacular scenery during the day. Wine and food matching as well and how we taste wine and why too.

- steveeO4936SX0 contributionsGreat tour with an awesome guide, highly recommendWe had a personalised accessible group wine, history and food day tour with Mario, and it was the most interesting, informative and wonderful wine tour we have collectively ever done! His passion and knowledge about all things wine and Croatian history is second to none, and his kind nature and professional ability to integrate us with the locals made this day so special and memorable. PS * lunch on the harbour at a small fishing village was a highlight that we truly loved and will never forget! Thank you Mario, and your beautiful wifeWritten April 17, 2024
- Gary N0 contributionsBest oyster and wine tourWe were collected bang on time by Mario from our hotel. The beautiful coast drive was steady and safe and this was made all the better by the information about oyster farming and wine that Mario provided along the way. He is a top wine sommelier, therefore the information was interesting, credible and memorable. The oysters were the best i have tasted, fresh from the sea that morning. Moving on to the small winery we met the 4th generation owner of the vineyard, learnt about and tasted delightful wine only available to purchase in Croatia. Finally we had free time in Ston after being provided a historical briefing of the hillside location. Thank you Mario for a cracking morning out, we both enjoyed far more that we expected to.Written April 15, 2024
- N7694JSwilll0 contributionsExcellent Wine TastingWe had a fantastic session of wine, food, and wine education with Mario. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped us bring our wine appreciation to the next level.Written April 9, 2024
- WeloveBarnes0 contributionsA wine education in beautiful surroundings. This is a serious wine tour. Mario is an expert in his field and shared his expertise generously with us. We were picked up from our hotel promptly in a smart, clean minibus and Mario explained the order of the day. Luckily for us we were the only clients that day so we could pretty much adapt the day to suit ourselves. The drive over the mountains into Bosnia took around 30 mins and Mario chatted to us about the history of the area and pointed out interesting sights. Our first stop was a Bosnian town to see the market. Sadky for us the market wasn’t very busy- we were there on a Sunday - ( best days Fri- Sat) but it was still interesting to walk around the town and see the mosques and churches once more existing alongside each other, Next stop an impressive monestry where we viewed the beautiful church before onto our first wine tasting. We sampled 4 or 5 different wines - each one delicious , and Mario explained their origin, features and subtleties really well. From here we visited a family run winery and repeated the wine tasting. This times the wines were enhanced with home made cheeses and ham. The difference between the taste of the wines before and after taking a bite of cheese was remarkable. Again - Mario explained the wine making process for each bottle and helped us to appreciate the complexity of each. There was no pressure to buy anything which can often spoil these experiences. We didn’t stop for lunch as we were full after the cheese and ham but this was our decision and Mario would have happily taken us to a typical Bosnian restaurant. This was a fun way to see the local area and also to learn more about wine. We learnt lots!Written April 9, 2024
- Chloé B0 contributionsEvening wine tasting in Dubrovnik old townThe wine tasting with Mario was amazing. He is highly knowledgeable in everything related to wine. He gave us a great overview of wine and tasting in general, and the specifics about Croatian wines. We had fun and tasted great Croatian wines which paired well with the tapas. I would highly recommend!Written April 9, 2024

We had a fantastic time on this wine tour! It started with a 30m stop at Ston where we were let loose to explore and try out the trademark oysters. After that we stopped at 3 wineries and got to try wines from the famous DingaÄŤ valley too. And to top it off we enjoyed a yummy 3 course meal in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea.
Mario was also super knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the wines and culture of Dubrovnik and Croatia. Highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a full day wine adventure with a great lunch!

Mario is an excellent, genial and knowledgeable host. We did the oyster and wine tour and learned a lot about both. Very much enjoyed the tour and the bottle of wine we bought from the wine grower, Tony.

It was a great day out. The wineries were in spectacular locations, and the wines were of excellent quality. Mario was very knowledgeable, which enhanced the experience. Lunch was great—we were invited to the kitchen to see our seafood lunch being cooked over a barbecue. If you like wine-tasting tours, then I can recommend this one.

We thoroughly enjoyed our all day wine tour with Mario. He collected us from our hotel and we departed Dubrovnik to begin the tour.
Mario shared lots of interesting information on wine production in Croatia as well as tips on tasting wine and pairing the wines with food.
Our first stop was a local Oyster farm where we sampled some delicious fresh oysters along with Croatian bubbles. We then visited three different wineries - we were able to sample wines at each of the stops along with some amazing local cheeses.
The trip was topped off with an amazing three course lunch on a terrace overlooking the bay. Lots of fresh seafood to enjoy with more wine.
On the way back we stopped off in Ston which is a lovely old city much smaller than Dubrovnik so very easy to explore in a short time.
Would highly recommend this tour for those who enjoy sampling new wines - it was also a great opportunity to see more of Croatia outside Dubrovnik!

Marco was a tour guide. Being a sommelier, he was extremely knowledgeable about wine in general and of course, Croatian wines. We stopped at three wineries and had a nice seaside lunch. He has also spent many years int eh UK so his English was impeccable.

My group of 7 recently took this full day wine tour from Dubrovnik, and it was a huge highlight of our trip! Mario was a spectacular guide and host; he is a wealth of information and we learned so much about wines and the region. We also learned a great deal about pairing wines with foods. The day started out with oysters FRESH from the sea paired with a wine chosen by Mario. What a way to start off the day, and the setting was incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed the three wineries that we visited, and the lunch -WOW. We had wonderful fish that went from sea to grill to plate! We are still talking about our perfect day filled with great info, beautiful scenery and wonderful company from our great host. Note that I researched many wine day trips in advance, and I definitely made the best choice for my group! Thank you, Mario! Highly recommend!

Don't go. He rips people off. I cancelled a day before and he threatened me that if I didn't pay the full amount, he would get the police to come visit me at my Airbnb and he would give them my phone number.

I have several questions and would like to speak with the tour operator. One question is are children (11) allowed on the tour? We are staying at the Dubrovnik Palace, is that included in the pick up region. What are the start and end times? How many people are in the tour? We are looking at Thursday, July 19th or Friday, July 29th. Thank you
