Highlights
  • Ideal introduction to Dubrovnik for first-time visitors
  • Multiple stops and photo ops around Dubrovnik Old Town
  • See Rector’s palace, the Franciscan Monastery, and the Pile Gate
  • Tips and recommendations from a local guide
What to expect
  • Meet your guide in the morning and be prepared to get dazzled with impressive historical anecdotes and facts of Dubrovnik’s history. Begin at Pile Gate, one of three ways into the Stari Grad, or Old Town, and then stop at Onofrio’s Fountain, a multi-faucet drinking fountain connected to an aqueduct that has, for centuries, carried drinking water into the city.  Then walk a few seconds more and you are at the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest still-functioning pharmacies in Europe. Wander around the 14th-century Gothic cloister and take in some of the art.  Stroll down the Stradun, the limestone-covered main pedestrian street of Dubrovnik and stop at the Renaissance-era palace, which houses the state archives. Right around you, see Orlando Column, the clock tower, which curiously shows the time in Arabic and Latin numerals and only changes every five minutes, the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St. Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik. Across the square, walk a few minutes and visit the Cathedral of the Assumption, a beautiful Baroque sanctuary

Lovely short tour
This tour does not walk you through every single street, building or statue, but it will reaveal historical info and interesting facts you cannot get on your own! Our guide was Nikola, a smart guy who had answers to our questions, with very good english. He knew how to point out interesting or funny facts of history.
The tour takes a bit longer than one hour. In our case it was held for 8 people, so not crowded and no need to stay in the sun in the middle of a hot day.

PS: if you do the tour, you’ll understand my pictures’ purpose 😋

Very interesting tour. Guides are very professional & explain every minute details of the history of the Old City. A must for everyone while visiting Dubrovnik. While in the Old City, do take a walking tour of the Walls of the Old City. Great views from the top of the walls.

Very small group tour, just us two, so got VIP treatment. Very informative and interesting tour showing all the main sights, enough that we could revisit at our leisure. Also, received local tips of times to visit and places to see. Very accommodating and didn't feel rushed on supposedly the hottest day of the year so far.

We had a small group and our tour guide Tea was enthusiastic and informative about Dubrovnik history and took us to areas we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Definitely worth booking.

Our guide Nikolina was amazing. She explained things very well. She always did her best to keep us in the shade. The sites were incredible. If there was one thing that could be improved it would be an easier way of locating the tour.

Great and interesting walk in and around the castle.
We learned many facts and saw the areas where game of thrones took place.
The young later who was our guide (sorry forgot her name) was very good and we walked by the house she grew up in and still lived.
It’s a beautiful area. Very hot day and lots of walking.

We went on a walking tour of Old Town in Dubrovnik last week. Our tour guide Katerina was very informative and passionate about her city and country. Gave us so much information on their history. Great tips of places to see and eat afterwards.
Thank you Katerina.
