- l0ccib0 contributionsFantastic Krka Waterfall Tour with Excellent Guide and ServiceWe recently took the Krka Waterfall tour from Split with SugamanTour Company, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The tour lasted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and everything went so smoothly. Our guide, Domo, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire day even more enjoyable. The communication with the company was perfect, and every detail was handled flawlessly. We highly recommend booking with Sugaman Tour Company, and we've already reserved another tour with them. Can't wait for the next adventure!Written September 7, 2024
- alexisd9720 contributionsA summary and tips for the Plitvice Lakes tourMy husband I took this tour to Plitvice Lakes National Park from Split in early Sept 2024 and I would highly recommend. I will summarize the trip a bit her to help others decide if it's for them. Firstly, if you do not have a decent level of fitness or if you have mobility challenges this is NOT the tour for you. The tour consists of an approximate 8km/5mile hike over often uneven terrain including narrow and uneven boardwalks (most with no railing) plus lots of stairs. The park is extremely busy and some areas could be dangerous if you are not paying attention as to where you are walking or if you are unsteady. I would not recommend bringing children younger than about 9 years old and ensure they can handle a lot of walking as you do not want to have to carry them. Under NO circumstances would I recommend bringing a stroller!! I saw about 4 families who brought a stroller and all had both parents carrying the strollers (with a child in them) up and down the many stairs and surely they were questioning their life choices at that point! Once you start on a trail you are pretty committed, there are no "escape routes." Ensure you bring lots of water, put on sunscreen and a hat, and most importantly wear sturdy, comfortable shoes! As for how the day went, we met at the tour office near the Split sign just before 7am. The coach was full with about 50 people in the group with one guide. Bring some cash for a tip for the guide and bus driver and remember the entrance fee for the park (40 euros) must be paid in cash before the tour starts at the tour office. The drive to Plitvice Lakes is about 3-3.5 hours one way with a stop in the middle at a gas station for a washroom break and snacks/coffee/drinks. On the way back there is a stop halfway at a similar place. The coach is comfortable but basic with no wifi or charging ports for devices so I am glad I brought a book. Once you arrive at the park the guide takes you on a very short boat ride of less than 5 minutes and then you start the hike. There are plenty of stops along the way to take photos so it's not rushed, but a moderate pace. There is one washroom stop about halfway into the hike and there is a place to buy drinks, snacks and ice cream here, but the stop is only about 20 minutes. You take a so-called train from the upper lakes to the lower lakes but this is more like a tram/bus ride. At the end of the tour we rode the coach about 5 minutes to our lunch stop which didn't happen until 3pm so bring snacks if you won't be able to wait that long to eat. The lunch was at a delicious Croatian restaurant (they take cash or cards) and we had an hour here before heading back to Split getting back around 7:30pm. It was a very long day but it was worth it to see the magnificent views! Our tour guide "Bari" offered a lot of great commentary and photo tips...he said he has led this tour over 900 times! A highlight of our trip to Croatia, a must see!Written September 7, 2024
- collinsinaz0 contributionsTour guides in name onlyA mostly disinterested crew viewed each stop as a party opportunity rather than leading a tour. They provided very little information about why a stop was a stop. At one key stop with an hour on our own, the only thing on the island (a bar and small beach) closed for a private event, kicking our boat occupants out. Our “guides” noticed nearly everyone was back on the boat a full 30 minutes early, but neither checked to see why, just glancing over occasionally as their party continued on another boat. It was by far our worst tour of a 10-day stay in Croatia. The locale is beautiful. I’d recommend finding a different tour to see it.Written September 6, 2024
- Compass150709661350 contributionsGreat views but that restaurant…Our guide was great. Make sure to get the cream of mushroom soup afterward. Please. Also order the gourmet platter for 2. Even if you go on the trip solo please get the gourmet platter for 2.Written September 5, 2024
- V7418XBameliab0 contributionsBeautiful viewsThis was a really good trip with lots to see. Our tour guide Elena was great - very knowledgeable and friendly. The transfers from place to place were seamless and we had a good amount of time in each place. Was interesting to get to learn more about Croatian history and the views at Krka park were beautiful - would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting!Written September 5, 2024

- martyaround0 contributionsGreat experienceLovely day out, amazing views! Thank you so much Bari for all your knowledge and interesting insights about Croatia and Plitvice park. It is a long journey (about 3 hours each way) however there is air conditioning in the bus, be ready to walk for about 4 hours and take plenty of water with you. The park is absolutely stunning with great landscape and waterfalls. Great communication from the tour agency, nothing to complain.Written September 5, 2024
- sabinac8260 contributionsToo slowThe guide was nice but the tour was disappointing. There was a packed bus with no assigned seating, and that led to multiple disagreements about seating. We did not make it to the iconic boardwalk because the pace was too slow. Would not recommend for active people.Written September 4, 2024

- Voyager249656450650 contributionsAn Amazing Excursion!Absolute 10/10! An amazing Agency to go with. Will say we did book through our hotel (Hotel Plaza Ducé) Staff are just excellent across the whole tour with little facts at different points. As a couple we did the Blue Cave, Blue Lagoon and Hvar excursion at 125 euros per person plus another 18 euros per person for the Blue Cave entry. But with what you get in the excursion it is so so worth it. Swimming stops (about 2 or 3) in beautiful areas too 🙌Written September 2, 2024
- X1051UNtimo0 contributionsDubrovnik tour was made better by ElenaWe had a smallish group. Only 9 of us which is nice - very intimate setting. Elena made the trip a highlight. She gave a good history of Split and also as we arrive in Dubrovnik also provided a good history of Dubrovnik Our guide in Dubrovnik too was awesome. She showed us around and gave us more architectural context and context around the war. It is great to see things have been rebuild and see the photos in the Rector house that had images of the war. The city is beautiful. Given u will have 4 hours in the city bring ur bathers. There are public beaches which are amazing and u can use them. Of course there is lots of game of throne things around and sight Do the walk on the wall. It is worth it- it may be warm but the views are spectacular. Gianni ice cream is better than Panni. 😝 The best part was that we were staying in Dubrovnik and was not going back to Split and Elena and the driver dropped us off at the hotel which is greatWritten September 2, 2024

My partner and I really enjoyed this trip. The boat had a roof (unlike some other tours we saw) which is very important when you're spending 10 odd hours out in the sun but I was surprised that we didn't receive any form of safety briefing or instructions (this may be down to the tour operator rather than boat crew). I'm a confident swimmer and have experience at sea but others may not so this is worth pointing out.
Our first stop was the Blue Cave but due to the queues we moved to a nearby private beach to wait for approximately an hour. This private beach had a small restaurant and amazing crystal clear waters. We then moved back to the blue cave where, luckily, one of our guides managed to get into us into the complex queue system relatively quickly. You transfer to a much smaller boat and the cave tour is over relatively quickly but that's due to the small size of the actual cave. We then headed to another island (Stiniva Cove) with one of the top rated beaches in Europe (according to the guide) that was very busy and we were given approximately 45 minutes to snorkel or swim.
From here we headed to Hvar for an hour and then the last stop was Carpe Diem island/beach before we headed back to Split. This is where I was slightly disappointed, we were told that we would get back to Split at around 7:30pm but got back early, at around 6:15pm. We were both happy with this as it had been a long day in the sun but I felt like we had missed some of the advertised tour. Looking at the tour website (Sugaman tours) it looks like we skipped Lagoon of Island Budikovac, Monk Seal Cave and only actually visited 4 islands. We had effectively visited Blue Cave (+ private beach while waiting), Stiniva Cove, Hvar and Carpe Diem island. We had really been looking forward to the Budikovac Lagoon and Monk Seal Cave so we feel a bit let down. The weather on the day was perfect so don't feel the weather could have impacted on this.
So to summarise: great day out, new boat, good vibes but let down by lack of any snacks/drinks (you can get water but you have to specifically ask for it) and no actual snorkel with the mask (ie. they provide masks but no snorkel). I think the tour should be advertised as 4-6 islands rather 6 islands to avoid misleading advertising.

We met Antonija on the beach promenade in Stobrec, she explained to us that we didn’t have to go to Split to get on a ride to the blue cave. There were a departure from Stobrec.
Going to Split early morning with a family of 6 persons can be a challenge....traffic, parking etc.
So we only had to met with her the following morning and she escorted us to the boat.
The skipper Jure welcomed us onboard and we sailed to Split to take onboard the remaining guests.
The boat was although a speedboat a very sturdy and solid boat with comfortable seats both in the shade and in the sun.
In Split the guide for the tour also came onboard, Ela, she informed us all about the various places we visited. It turned out to be quite a impressive tour with multiple stops and sites to see. Not only the blue cave and Hvar but also the blue lagoon, pakleni islands, stiniva bay, not to mention monk seal cave where we almost lost our daughter as she swimmed all the way to the beach in the bottom of the cave in darkness....
Long story short it was a great trip with good people and we enjoyed it very much. Can only recommend other people to do the same.

My wife and I had a good experience with this tour and company. Although it is a full day, the multiple stops makes it go by quickly. Our guides were very energetic and did a good job managing the boat and participants. We were very happy with their level to attention to our well being. The boat was is great shape and had some good features such as a sun deck, shade cover and many comfortable seating options. There is no way I would do this tour without a shade cover or you would be cooked by the end of the day. The sea was a bit rough that day and the large size of the boat handled it fairly well. I wouldn’t suggest a similar excursion on a smaller boat and especially the ones we saw at other stops with a “saddle bench” type seating. My only complaint is that we ended up going with the guide’s suggestion of a lunch restaurant in Hvar called “Restaurant Vartal”, which was a big disappointment and was mediocre at best. To be more precise it was the worse meal we had in our 10 days in Croatia and over priced. My suggestion would be to elect to walk around Hvar and pick your own place to eat lunch. You have over two hours in Hvar, thus plenty of time to scout restaurant options. Overall, we had a good time and would use this company again.

We decided to book our trip with Sugaman at the last minute and we don't regret our decision. Our guide Dora was very helpful, informative and clever. In order to keep us from waiting in large queues in the sun she reorganized our day and stops so as to keep the wait to the Blue Cave to a minimum and was kind enough to purchase our tickets for us while we took a dip in the bay.
We took the trip with our mom who is pre retirement and was nervous that she would be in the way or wouldn't be able to partake in some activities. Aside from the Stiniva Cove, which is only accessed by swimming from the boat, she was able to enjoy the entire day. Dora and her skipper helped with getting on and off the boat and were very attentive throughout the day.
I highly recommend this trip as you get to experience 5 or 6 stops, different islands and just the joy of being out in the open sea. The Blue Cave is awesome (despite only getting a few minutes inside), Stiniva Cove, Hvar and all of the other stops during the day. A big plus was being picked up in Omis near which we were staying! Thank you to the crew at Sugaman!

We had such a great time on this excursion! On our way out to Blue Lagoon, we got the unfortunate news that the Blue Cave was too be closed due to wave conditions. Our tour guides asked if we'd like more time at an already scheduled stop, or to go to an added stop on Brac. We finished up at Blue Lagoon, and then when we got back to the boat they told us the Blue Cave was open! So we sped out and made it in time before they closed it again (4 or 5 little boats after ours went in). It was incredible. It's a UNESCO protected site, so no swimming there! You get into tiny boats that can make it inside the cave, with a guide who tells you a bit about the history. Utterly spectacular inside. We continued on to a beautiful cove on Vis for some swimming, and then made our way to Hvar for a good amount of free time. I grabbed lunch and made my way up to the Spanish fortress for some pictures. Once back in the boat, we made our final planned stop at Carpe Diem beach, which was perfect, Hvar was so hot, that getting to cool down in the water was awesome. On the way back the wind picked up immensely and white caps formed. We had to make an unplanned stop on Brac, so our guides could take down the canopy on the boat, as it was unsafe to continue with it up in the massive head winds and lightning strikes. Our guides were awesome, and had a great sense of humor. Putting on "My Heart Will Go On" as we got back in the boat to get back to Split was freaking hilarious. They continually checked in with us to make sure no one was frightened and got us back safe and sound. It was such an awesome day, and I'd recommend this trip to anyone coming to Croatia. Only thing that would have been nice would be actual snorkel mouthpieces to go with the masks. Other than that, excellent trip!!

We left Split in early morning hours and went to Blue cave. The trip was really comfortable thanks to the crew. They were very proffesional but at the same time frendly we could ask them anything. Blue cave was defenitely one of the best experiences of this trip. Later we went to Stiniva, Blue lagune etc. which were also worth visiting. One of the best trips I went to.

Very fun full day tour. Dora and Paola were our guide and boat driver for the day and they did a wonderful job moving the itinerary around and taking us to different beaches and stops to make sure we had no wait time for the blue cave. The blue cave was stunning. Hvar was so nice and Dora and Paola took us to a very good seafood restaurant on the island for lunch. We also had water and some soft drinks supplied to us on the boat which really helped refresh due to the hot weather. On the way back to Split we saw a beautiful sunset from the boat.

We would like to thank Dora and Jure who delivered us an amazing experience to the beautiful islands! They made sure to minimise waiting times and swapped around the itinerary to make sure we spent our time most efficiently. The boat rides between islands were pleasant and the boat was equipped with the necessary extras for the trip (drinks, snorkelling gear). While it’s gonna be long and exhaustive day, it’s absolutely worth it!

An amazing day with Domo and skipper Jure, who managed our trip to the Blue Cave to avoid queuing to perfection! Boat was specious, tidy, with onboard toilet and shade, an essential requirement for me to avoid too much direct sun. DJ Jure did a great job with the music. Lunch was excellent (recommend the grilled calamari) and I loved stepping straight from the boat into the restaurant! Hvar old town and view from the fort is impressive and Carpediem beach was interesting but probably for the younger crowd🤣 Some nice swimming spots also included. Would recommend this trip.

Peter and ? were great skipper and sailor pair and hosts. They worked well as a team. They constantly provided updated information on the trip to help manage customer expectations and add to our enjoyment of the journey. One highlight of the trip was seeing stopping to watch about 10 dolphins jump and frolic: the crew said seeing that many dolphins at one time was rare.
I'd recommend the trip to friends family with the caveat that the boat ride could be a bit hair raising at times but I had full confidence is Peter's command of the boat.

Hello, we are a group of 10 people including 1 child (11 years old). We will be in Split during 10/14 - 10/17, so maybe we would like do this tour on 10/15 or 10/16. Is it possible? And if we don’t want to swim, what is the option we can take? Can you still swim in mid of October? Thanks in advance!
Written October 2, 2019
My husband came back from Split 3 days ago. Water is still warm and you can swim concerning temperatures. It depends on the weather forecast. If there is too much wind the wave are too strong. But anyway, you can always stay on the boat. Or in the blue lagoon you can go to the beach . You don’t need to swim. But honestly, it is a shame if you always stay on board. They give you a life vest. Take it and try it. Ask them for help. You can change you swim dress on board inside.

You should ask the tour operator. Perhaps there are lockers in the office. But anyway you will be back late and the office might already be closed.

Hi,
Please can you advise how much time we would have to spend in Hvar?
Would we have enough time to climb the Tvrdava Fortica on this tour?
Thanks

Hello!
Thank you for contacting us.
It takes approximately 15 minutes walking up to the fortress, you have two hours of free time in Hvar so- yes, you do have enough time.

Hello,
thank you for contacting us.
There are no restrictions in terms of age or health, although pregnant women, and any individuals suffering from injuries such as back and neck issues are not advised to go on the tour as the sea can get rough in an instant.
For any further info- we are here!
Kind regards from Sugaman team

When you have a swimming stop, is there a ladder to get back onto the boat? Just want to make sure it's easy to get on and off the boat.

Yes there is a little ladder on the boat :)

Hi, we have a one year old baby. Can we bring her on the boat? We have food and water for her, a flotation vest, and a harness vest that we would be carrying her in. Is that ok?

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend to join with baby under 3 years old due to safety reasons. We cannot predict weather forecast in advance and in case of bad weather and huge waves it can be bumpy on board.
Thank you for understanding.
Kind regards from Sugaman team
