- 252bryanv0 contributions5 starDamir/Jerry is a true wine aficionado. We went to several locations on different islands and really enjoyed all the wines of the experience.Written June 26, 2023
- tayoa6840 contributionsHighly recommendedMet Damir a day earlier as my sister and I did his half sailing trip which was excellent. We were picked up and taken to the vineyard, taught everything about the wines and the owner. The wine and food were exceptional as was our guide. Highly recommended, will definitely be back. Great introduction to Split.Written May 21, 2023
- Yves M0 contributionsBad visitWell below expectation relative to price and value. Food is good, wine ok, tour well well below what would have wanted. Look for alternatives.Written January 5, 2020
- Skiaussie0 contributionsVery good until the endA great day with our guide Zlakto who kept the group integrating with each other with a few laughs. Stopping for some photo shots of the old town from above. The wineries we visited gave a good cross-section of local and commercial production plenty of wines and spirits to taste. At the end part of the tour was lunch at a local restaurant which happened to be in Korcula, this was the down fall, the food was very ordinary. It probably would be better to leave that out of the tour altogether it was a real dampener at the end of an otherwise very good day.Written September 5, 2019
- RichieP9020 contributionsAmazing views, tour and of course WINEMy wife and I were lucky enough to have this tour as a part of our guided tour of Split, which was organized by Robert Aronson, and Robert knows the Kuzmanic family as well as Damir and they could not be more welcoming. We felt like members of the family as we were sipping their amazing wines hearing about the history of the vineyard and the Kuzmanic family. We were treated to a delicious snack as well of some meats, cheese, olives and their homemade olive oil to dip as much bread as we could into. We even got to meet Ivan who puts all of his sweat and effort into creating the amazing wines and olive oil you get to enjoy there. Cannot recommend this more for a truly unique vineyard experience.Written June 3, 2019
- Chimpo130 contributionsBest Customer Service Imaginable!!I was slated to pull into Split, Croatia onboard a US aircraft carrier, and I found this tour online and booked it for my squadron. I reached out to the company to begin setting it up, and Damir got back to me immediately with all the options available to us. We decided on the Zinfandel Origin Wine Tour, and Damir sent me all the details. I forwarded it on to my squadron and almost right away I had all 30 members sign up in incredibly excited fashion. Based on our relatively short stay we had dinner plans that night, so I asked Damir if it was possible to switch the dinner at the second winery to lunch and go there first. He was able to make the switch right away. We then had to switch dates due to scheduling, and he was able to work with both the wineries and bus company to accommodate our shift in schedule. Every single question and request was answered and handled immediately by Damir personally. He was incredibly friendly and so easy to work with. Anything we needed he catered to, and my squadron and I were so excited to go on this wine tour. In a most unfortunate circumstance our trip to Croatia ended up being cancelled altogether due to rising conflict in other parts of the world. Everyone was crushed because the trip was going to be so amazing, and Damir had customized it for us to ensure it was perfect. Damir's willingness to assist us in any way possible, and his overall friendliness and generosity made a lasting impact on me, and as a result I will now be returning to Croatia on my own after I complete this deployment. Damir and his company made the greatest impression of Croatian citizens possible, and I cannot wait to finally get there, see the country, and go on the Zinfandel Origins Wine Tour! Despite having not done it yet, if you want a tour with an awesome guide and an awesome company this is the one you want. I personally recommend it as highly as possible based on the ease of planning alone. No doubt the tour itself is the best day you could have. Damir, on behalf of a grateful US Naval Aviation squadron, thank you so much! We'll be back!Written May 17, 2019
- Born2sKydive0 contributionsOutstanding, breathtakingly views, wonderful family, Yoda like guideFantastic. If I remember only one memory of my Croatia holiday in my death bed it will be looking out over the vines down the side of a mountain over the 7 Castellas drinking the most amazing reds of my life. Truly epic experience. The guide is passionate, knowledgeable and a friendly person as is the guy who owns the vineyard. This is not an overpriced tour round sport's tourist traps is is a life time experience that happens to cost a few kuna. Go on this, booking and love it.Written October 16, 2018
- Lindseybetravelin0 contributionsAmazing tour! This was a highlight of our trip to Dubrovnik. The guide, Damir, was super knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions about wine and giving us a thorough education on the history of the vineyard. The owner was so kind and the food he cooked was delicious! We ended up buying several bottles of wine to take home with us, and wish we could have brought more. Wine that doesn't give you a hangover?!?! I didn't think it was possible, but we put it to the test and they were not lying! Such a wonderful tour; we would definitely do it again.Written October 15, 2018
- tpaetznick0 contributionsThe Highlight of of our Stay in SplitThis was a last minute schedule and it completely surpassed our expectations. Actually I'd consider it one of our best days during our 8 days in Croatia. The location of the vineyard was so beautiful!! It was settled next to the vineyard on a hill overlooking the sea. The food was fantastic and the wine was like none that we had ever had before. We would very much recommend this trip to others looking for a peaceful and enjoyable wine experience in Croatia!Written October 7, 2018
- golfinisgr80 contributionsGuide/Driver was RudeWe spent a week in Split - took in several private tours and by far this tour was the ONLY one where the driver was obnoxious. He told us we would have been given better details about the tour if we had booked directly and not through our hotel concierge. Despite his snottiness - the host winery was wonderful with a father-daughter team - the wine and food top drawer - if it wasn't for him - I would otherwise highly recommend it. Seems like he worked out some arrangement with the wine owner who did not speak English. The guide/driver should be more professional. We told our concierge at our hotel that they should not recommend that tour again due to his obnoxious behaviour. We chose not to tip him - he didn't deserve it.Written October 7, 2018
- BriarClose0 contributionsWine with a viewA lovely opportunity to tap into a genuine , old historic vineyard on the outskirts of Split. Set high above sea level, the premises of this private family vineyard provide a really pretty panorama of the coastline. The tour takes your through acres of olive trees and grape vines to a lovely special place called the Biblical Gardens set amongst Cyprus trees and some ancient wine off shoots growing in the region. The food was lovely, with a selection of freshly BBQ grilled meat (sausage) and cheese and fresh salad (cucumber and tomato). The "almost retired" husband and wife team that run the vineyard were friendly and welcoming and made the whole experience very special. Our lovely experienced and knowledgeable tour guide and driver was splendid. Well worth a visit if you can manage it.Written October 6, 2018
- Jim S0 contributionsWine Cellar & Dinner TourReally enjoyed the tour of Ivan's vineyards and grounds and the walk through the Biblical Gardens. Tour guide made it a fun evening filled with lots of "factoids" about Croatian wine making. The meal in the wine cellar was delicious and fun. Although it was an educational experience tasting Croatian wines, the red wines, as advertised, are very "chewy" and full of tannins.Written October 6, 2018
- Linda G0 contributionsBeautiful evening in the hills of SplitOur personalized tour of a working vineyard was very enjoyable. Only my husband and I attended but Damir gave us an informative overview of the history of Croatia, a walk through vineyards and a nearby chapel, tastings of wines, and olive oils. The owners of the property were present and the woman prepared a grilled dinner for us. The olive trees didn’t produce due to frost so that was disappointing since I was more excited to learn about producing the oil having been to many vineyards and wineries. Damir returned us near our hotel which was great. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a glimpse of life in Croatia and a view of country living.Written October 6, 2018
- bmochel0 contributionsWine tours in Split (Opcijatours)This is a great, old, family run by just 1 man. Both the white and red wines produced here are unique and not made else where. the dinner was excellent too! If you enjoy wine this is a great evening.Written October 6, 2018
- yaejmarathon990 contributionsOverpricedI should have read the recent reviews before going. This visit costs a lot too much for what it is worth. Wines are good and food is good plus.. but you can get better (much better on wines and better on food) for a lot less at many restaurants in town. The tour people add nothing to the experience (just there to make a buck). Winery owners are nice folks, but the whole experience (the money paid to the tour company) I felt was not appropriate / nowhere near what it should have been.Written September 29, 2018
