- Ruth K0 contributionsFabulous tour in SplitWe booked the “SPLIT-PRIVATE Emperors walk for history lovers and it was fantastic. Josko was our tour guide and he did a wonderful job. He was knowledgeable entertaining and this tour remains a highlight of our week in Croatia. He shared history, fun facts, and answered every question we came up with. This was a great find - ask for Josko, you will not be disappointed!Written March 10, 2025
- natashacF5990ZJ0 contributionsAn entertaining introduction to Split and TrogirSlavco is an excellent guide, very informative and entertaining. This tour was a fantastic way to explore both locations and learn more about the history. We saw places we didn’t originally see on our first walk around the old town so it was perfect for discovering the hidden places. Highly recommended.Written February 21, 2025
- lukaswL7025QV0 contributionsCome and be amazedWith a great humor and profound knowledge, our guide Slavko showed us around and brought the history to life. Thank you, it was wonderful!🥰 and our little friendly dog was allowed to come with for free .....AND :there are funny Christmas trees in Split😂 - see last pictureWritten December 26, 2024
- H3877TElindar0 contributionsReally interesting tour with local guideA really interesting tour with a guide who lived in Trogir, spoke very good English and was easy to hear and understand. As well as the medieval history he was able to talk about more recent times, for instance local employment and his own experience of living there.Written November 2, 2024
- B9345IRjillm0 contributionsA perfect introAn ideal way to start a stay in the city, we had arrived the night before and chose to avoid the palace knowing we had a tour first thing and were glad to experience it for the first time with so much information provided. Our tour guide Jakov was very knowledgeable, approachable and entertaining, even providing recommendations for the rest of our visit.Written October 26, 2024
- C400OOsuec0 contributionsSlightly disappointingRainy day for our tour which didn’t help but we were a bit disappointed with the tour. The guide in Split was excellent so it started well then he handed our group over to be driven by van to Trogir. The driver was giving occasional insights into the surrounding area but we couldn’t hear at all in the back seat. The van was very uncomfortable with poor suspension. In Trogir the guide was interesting but we ended up with about 45 minutes to get lunch and have free time in Trogir. As a group we all wanted more free time but the tour is apparently set up for cruise visitors who have limited time. None of our group were on a cruise ship but we didn’t get the opportunity to request a later pick up. We have done better tours in the pastWritten October 25, 2024
- pglejm0 contributionsGood tour, hard to hear our guideWe had already walked around the palace a little so we could get a feel for the area and to make sure we knew where to meet! Our group was so large that we got split into 3. I don’t remember our guide’s name, young man, pleasant. We covered a lot but it was hard to hear him. It wasn’t because of too many tourists, it was not that crowded. He just spoke low and rather monotone. Not one person had a question the entire tour which is kind of a clue that you’ve lost your crowd. I guess my review is more for the company to remind their guides to read their audience. Sorry for saying this.Written October 17, 2024

- Yorkshirelass82970 contributionsA really interesting tourIt's free to enter the palace, and my friend and I had already seen quite a bit of it, but we were still glad that we did the guided tour & both really enjoyed learning about the history of it. Our guide Ivan had a lovely manner, keeping it both interesting & fun, even despite some rain. I would definitely recommend doing the tour if it's your first time in Split.Written October 7, 2024

- 740bellec0 contributionsRaining cats and dogsWe had lots of rain on our tour, no fault of the tour guide. He did his best considering all the abnormal rain that poured down. Maybe if the weather was better the tour would have been better because I felt like he rushed through everything. Again, not the tour guides fault.Written September 21, 2024

- derekbL407GV0 contributionsA lesson in historyIncredible learning experience. Slavko was both entertaining and informative. His jovial demeanor made everyone comfortable to ask questions and not feel embarrassed. I wish I had his knowledge. We enjoyed the tour so much that we are doing it again but adding Trogir tomorrow. We'll worth the time spent.Written September 12, 2024

"Split Walking Tour with Diocletian Palace (Eng)" Ivan gave our small group a very enjoyable and informative tour of Split and Diocletian’s Palace. He is knowledgeable and had a good way of presenting the history. This tour is affordable and a very good use of shore time -- would recommend to friends!

An extraordinary tour of the city of Split in which the most important tourist attractions of the city are visited. Our guide Maria, led us with great competence (history teacher) but also with a remarkable sense of humor through the tumultuous history of Split. Considering the complex history of the place, I recommend this tour, because it is difficult to understand the secrets of this city without an experienced guide. I was very pleased with this experience!

We did the Split and Trogir walking tour with the wonderful Antonia. I wasn’t sure about a tour as I generally like to explore alone but this was excellent. Antonia was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and really friendly. She gave us a great balance of historical and architectural info and insight into modern day life. She was thoroughly engaging throughout and brought the ancient walls to life with great storytelling.
The trip to Trogir was effortless and comfortable. It’s much smaller than Split so less to ‘tour’ so you also get some free time to explore, have a bite to eat and so on. We visited the cathedral and went up the bell tower (smaller so easier than the Split cathedral tower), which I’d recommend.
All in all a wonderful half-day tour where we learnt a lot

Excellent tour around Split. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The tour really helped to us to get our bearings around this city, so it’s a good thing to do when you first arrive. Just the right length of time too. Thank you for sharing the fascinating history of This beautiful city with us. We took our 3 children aged 15, 11 and 3. They were all engaged which was great. The route is not suitable for a pram (we had ours but only because the rain was so bad earlier in the day and we needed to keep our son undercover- we did manage to carry the pram up and down the stairs but it is a busy city so don’t recommend it with a pram) but for those with smaller children in a sling or backpack it is perfect. The guidance does say aged 7 and above which is about right.

Terrific overview of Split. Our guide, Frane, did an awesome job making sure our large group stayed together and made a huge effort to wait for everyone to gather around, he talked loudly and would find quiet corners away from the crowds to tell us the history and added some personal antidotes. Well worth the money and time.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of interesting details on the buildings which we wouldn’t otherwise have been aware of. Although we didn’t have audio headsets she spoke clearly otherwise it might have been more difficult with a larger group . Certainly worth doing the Diocletians palace tour.

The tour was fun and very informative. Our guide was well-informed about the city, and we got to see a good portion of the area without walking too much or for too long. I'd definitely book an evening tour and bring water - it was hot!

Great 90min walking tour especially if you want to learn some of the 4,000 year history of Croatia and this complex & fractious region.
Antoni was our guide and she was fantastic- she provided so much information and insight.
The tour is an absolute bargain at just €15 pp, for a 90 tour with a group of 18.
The Old Town get absolutely packed with group tours and crowds in the middle of the day, but it’s relatively quiet in the morning an hour before the tour starts, and again from 3pm onwards.
It’s a visually stunning place so absolutely worth taking the time pre or post tour to wander around for an hour.

Our guide Antonio was most excellent. She first set the historical context extremely well before proceeding to walk us around the tour. She was friendly, on-point, and easily approachable.
Highly recommend doing the walking tour first before going off and exploring more on your own.
